The GStar Shryke has more flex and a tackier feel, giving players added grip and a slightly less overstable flight compared to Champion or Star plastics. Great for cold-weather throwing.

The Shryke has become one of my go to distance drivers. I do not have a big or fast arm have a decent arm, but I can usually throw this disc with a beautiful S curve 330+ . I really like the accuracy and that it usually lands straight. I have a G-Star 168g and this is an easy throwing disc.  Highly recommended for intermediate players looking to add distance, to their throw.

Great versatile disc for someone needing a backhand and forehand disc. Flies 350' on a slight hyzer line backhand. Flies 325'+ on a slight anhyzer line forehand. Consistency is what I think of with this disc. Easy to throw, feels great in the hand and great versatility.

Had a somewhat new G-star when I was first starting out. I used it almost exclusively for my forehand and that thing sailed. It would fly the most beautiful flex lines and with 6 glide it could bite off quite a bit of distance. The G-star plastic always feels good in my hand and gave me the confidence to throw this in the woods and wide open. While this may not be my first recommendation for a beginner disc, its great to learn how to control big distance.

My first impression of the G* Shryke was that it was a meat hook. After throwing numerous times and beating it in the Shryke has become my go to distance driver. I do not have a big or fast arm but I can power up this speed 13 disc to fly a gorgeous s curve. It goes where I throw it consistently and generally lands straight. I mainly throw forehand which the G* plastic makes very comfortable. The grip is soft and gummy as the G implies. I mainly play woods courses so this disc has taken a beating and has not broken down. I also have one in Champion Plastic which has not broken in nearly as quickly. I highly recommend the G* Shryke.

    170g GStar Shryke

This disc was the first high speed distance driver I felt comfortable throwing and the first I felt like I could actually get distance out of. I had tried other distance drivers but they were still above my skill level- somehow the Shryke is still a high speed distance driver but it's a lot friendlier to lower arm speeds. I have my longest drive with this disc at 425' when I usually throw ~380' max with some other discs. I definitely recommend this disc for people who want to try higher speed drivers, it's a great one to start out with. On a normal full flight, this disc likes to flip up to flat and turn over for a bit and then come back at the end, finishing right in line with your release point. Also, this disc feels fine both forehand or backhand. The GStar plastic is very comfortable and is great in cold weather but becomes a little too soft in warmer weather, making the disc flippier which can be annoying. Still, great disc and I would recommend it.

The G-Star plastic flies like the numbers. Very comfortable in the hand. What surprised me the most about this disc is how glidey it is. It's kinda the perfect Int/low end Adv level player driver.

This was my second ace disc in Gstar plastic, full weight 175g. It goes far - farther than any disc in my bag at this point. It will do a full S-turn on either a flick or backhand and gets there fast! Stable but not super stable. Reliable, though. I use it on farther holes when it isn't terribly windy. I am using a Star version now for the extra stability but I really love the Gstar plastic type too. Amazing disc!

I live that #ShrykeLife all day on the course. I'm a LHBH thrower, and the GStar plastic just gets it done for me. Super accurate and gets me most of my max distance every time. The thing I love about the Shryke is the Champion plastic is a liiittle more stable, but still has the comfortable feel of the GStar. I don't know if it's mental, but I just know when I need to toggle from GStar to Champ plastic, and the Shryke delivers no matter what.

The Shryke is a good driver for me, but it wasn't great. I just never preferred it to my other drivers. The other day, I threw a friend's Shryke for a personal best distance throw, but after throwing it for a few more times after that, it didn't happen again. For me, it was just a solid but unspectacular disc. It might click better for someone else, though!

Before I threw the Shryke, I had a 100% MVP/Axiom bag. My crew did a review on the GStar Shryke and I fell in love. I honestly did not expect to like this thing as much as I do. I was able to get it to turn and get a soft slow fade which led to a ton of glide. After the review, I decided to buy a Shryke and add it to my bag, becoming the first non-MVP branded disc in my bag. I used it to get some of the longest and best shots of my disc golf career including parking a (downhill) 445' hole on one of my local courses. Unfortunately, since then I lost that Shryke and 2 more replacement Shrykes. The third time was the charm for me. It was just not meant for me to bag a Shryke... but I still feel a deep love for it in my heart. Check out my crew's full review here...

I got a max 175g Gstar shryke right when they came out and it surprised me in a lot of ways. First of all, this thing is FLIPPY. Good flippy, but way more understable than I expected. That being said, I think this disc has the most distance potential out of any disc I own, but for me it doesn't stay in the bag because I don't have a consistent use for it. My home courses are fairly wooded, and the open holes are no longer than 375 ft so I don't have use for this open field bomber very often. It is one of the most fun discs to throw in the open field though. Learning to work angles with this disc and shape giant s curves isn't practical for me but its still fun!

My 175 Shyrke is such a peculiar disc to me...I love it and often times it cracks a smile upon my face, besides being my first Ace disc, here's why:

Yes, this thing is fast, but it I find it VERY understable. I thought it would be like a beat in destroyer, and in a way it is, but I reserve this for tailwind bombs, uphill bombs, basically anything where I need that max distance, but can't or won't put all my energy into it.

Throwing 90% with a hefty hyzer, it has the most gorgeous s curve and endless glide and that's what I smile about it. It's gorgeous to watch this disc glide if you get the angle and for this reason, I think it would be great for someone trying to step up in their disc speed. This will get you that max distance if you're intermediate.

Also, have to point out again my ace...While big, glidey drives are it's forte, my ace was a 360ft LASER. I threw 80% power with a mild hyzer and this just zoomed straight at the basket. So in a weird way, it's found some use with its controlable, fairway driver like tendancies if you don't try to muscle it.

Great disc...but I'll leave you with this. Don't throw it in a headwind, just don't. That's its kryptonite!

The Shryke is a great distance driver if you don’t have elite power. I carry a max weight star Shryke and a 168g gstar Shryke. In star plastic I can throw a hard hyzer and get it to flip to flat and glide a long way before fading out to the left. If I throw my star Shryke flat I can get a full flight out of it. My gstar shryke is a lot more flippy and is my go-to hyzer-flip distance driver. If I rip a hyzer with my gstar shryke, it will flip up to flat and slowly turn to the right. The Shryke is the disc that helped me get from 375’ to 400’+.

The Shryke is my main distance driver if wind isn't an issue.  My form is starting to improve and I'm starting to get these out between 350-375' somewhat consistently on flat ground.  At my power level I'm throwing these flat or with a touch of anhyzer to get these to finish straight.  When thrown properly there's not much wiggle room in the flight path and I'm not hyzer flipping these.  To see more turn I'm guessing these have to be thrown at least 380'.

I own these in Star, Champion, and GStar (very nice having 3 different plastic options as all of them feel different).  The champion might be the most stable but really at the same weight they're all pretty close.  Most of mine are in the 166-172g weight range.  I've also purchased a few lighter GStar and Stars that are 163-164g and though the difference in weight is small these are defintely a little more understable than the others as I'm throwing these with a little bit of hyzer and they are flipping up and turning.

I used to throw Star Terns, but my issue with the Terns was even with smaller hands I didn't like how shallow the Tern was.  I also found the Tern to be a little more understable than my Shrykes in the same plastic.  It also seems that with more use the Terns became more understable quicker.

For me the Shryke has a wider rim but not nearly as wide as many other high speed drives.  Even though the Shryke is listed as a speed 13, I used a caliper and I found the rim with to be pretty close the same rim width of a Destroyer.  It's very comfortable both backhand and forehand.

This is a great distance drive for who throws in the mid 300s to 400' range. It's not a wind fighter, but it won't be affected by mild winds too much.  Great distance driver!

I have a Shryke in the "springy" G-Star plastic. It's very flexible, grippy, somewhat soft, but springs back to its symmetric/original shape. The plastic reminds me of the material used to make the 1985 Discraft Phantom Plus Disc I used to throw way back when. It seemed nearly indestructible and kept its shape until it actually became brittle and shattered after about 12 years. I never had to worry about it being warped or chunked up by trees or gravel. When I throw my 172g Shryke hard, on flat ground, RHBH, with no wind, somewhat nose down with a bit of hyser, it flips up to flat about 10 - 15 feet off the ground, sails about 375 ft., then fades a bit left at the end and skips for a grand total of about 400 feet. Its a very fast disc, considerably under-stable right out of the box, with NO break-in. If thrown on a low trajectory, with little wind or downwind, with a proper amount of hyser (dependent on your arm speed and wind speed) this could be a very useful, dependable, flip-up, open field distance disc. Thrown into the wind would likely yield unpredictable results (time for a Destroyer). I am not sure yet/time will tell how this disc will "break-in". The G-Star/springy type plastic seems to bode well for the future though.

IMO, the Shryke is the best pure distance driver mold Innova has released in a long, long time. Its like a big brother to the Tern. Slightly faster, better glide and more stable. Thrown with a slight hyzer, the Shryke will pop up flat and boom dead straight. It isn't really an S curve flier. The Shryke WILL flip if you get overly aggressive with torque or throw it into a headwind, but it generally will hold true in calm conditions.

For sheer distance I'm not sure I've ever thrown anything better. The Shryke absolutely BOMBS. Head to head against other similar drivers it continually comes out on top. I'm not a ridiculous fan of G* plastic, but for whatever reason it flies great with the Shryke. The closest Innova molds to the Shryke in terms of flight seem to be the Tern and The Daedalus. For me the Shryke is better than either of them. An absolute must have disc for anyone looking to tack on 25' or more consistently to their current distance. It'll put a 375' thrower over 400' easily.

I have gstar and star shrykes in max weight.  Very good all-around discs, I use these when the conditions are too windy for my blizzard DD2's.  Unlike most people I don't mind throwing these into a headwind, I can still get it about 400 ft.  If the wind is above 20mph then you might need something more stable.

This is a very long disc. I have an above average arm and if I really put get into one it will turn and burn. If this is thrown into a head wind it will also turn and burn. If I put 90% effort into it the disc does what it is supposed to do. I have heard from other players that the star plastic is a little more stable than the Gstar plastic. This disc can be flippy if you try to put max effort into it. I have threw some real bombs with this disc already and I have only usd it for 3 competitive rounds. I love the glide and with the speed it moves well down the fairway. Until you are comfortable with the disc I would recommend throwing it on open holes to get the shape of the shot down so that you know where and how it will travel. This could be the smooth bombing disc I have been looking for. The Gstar plastic is good for all weather because of the durability and the grip.

So I have a 165g GStar Shryke.  It's the only GStar disc I have, so I wasn't really sure what to expect.  I also throw a Blizzard Destroyer, a Blizzard Boss, and a Champion Beast-X.

What I noticed is that it's extremely stable.  I don't get as exaggerated of an S as I get with the Destroyer, and it's a little more moderate than the Beast-X.  The Shryke flew pretty straight with just a slight wave toward the right, then finished nice and level back to the left.  Fade and Turn were pretty equal on the throws I made.

Distance-wise, it was finishing nearly the same as my Destroyer and my VIP Sorcerer.

I don't have a huge arm, as I'm currently not consistently driving over 300', but I have a feeling that this disc might get me there.

I haven't thrown this in aggressive wind, so I'm not sure how it'll handle once I do, but it does nicely on calm to slightly breezy days.  Temp in the 50's.

All in all, I'm not disappointed.  I think this is a good disc that has a place in my bag.

I initially thought that I would feel the same about the Shryke as I did the Queen by Westside-- both are high speed discs but with a -2 / 2 stability (turn / fade) rating. That means that they are designed as straight flyers but for high speed throwers. That seems a bit contradictory because typically if you're throwing a speed 13 or 14, an understable disc will turn into a roller.  In the case of the Queen, that is what happened to me. However, with the Shryke, the disc managed to remain more stable. Yes, it pulled to the understable side upon release, but it didn't flip onto the ground and roll. It eventually stabilized and came back for a gentle fade. Thus it was able to get great distance as long as I didn't expect or want an end fade. I could get a net zero (straight) or a negative (understable) result without turning into a roller. Innova pulled it off nicely!  I also love the flexible GStar plastic, so it already felt good to me, before it even left my hand.

I'm impressed with the Shryke. As a weaker arm experienced player I can't usually get much backhand distance out of Speed 13 discs. I don't do well with really wide rims and they typically just fade out prematurely on me. I was never able to get much out of the supposedly understable Daedalus or the Dominator, or Colossus, but had no problem getting a good distance flight path out of this disc. Now, if I throw the Shryke too high, or don't get full power it did hook far and didn't get a ton of distance, but when thrown level it would flip up a little turn to the right, glide far, and get good distance for me. I was able to push it out to about 330 feet with normal controlled power throws. Flight wise my 170g, Shryke is pretty similar to my more stable Westside Kings.

I can't say I'm a big fan of GStar plastic, but it's pretty cold out there right now and I really liked the soft grippy plastic in 40 degree temperatures. I also think that the softer GStar makes such a wide rim more comfortable for my smallish hands.

If you're looking for an Innova Tern with a slightly wider rim, you'll probably love the Innova Shryke. This disc just might set a new distance record for you.

this review will be updated more when i have had more chances to throw it more. However after using it 2 days i feel like it is a solid driver. I have yet to get to test it in windy conditions but it was cold. The GStar plastic felt great in the cold weather. I had some nice distance on my drives (RHBH). The flight of the disc was very consistant. Overall so far i really like this disc. I do not feel like it would be very begginer friendly but it could suffice. It is also the only speed 13 driver iv ever really liked so thats a plus.

    (RHBH)

I was able to go out and test the Innova Shryke the other day. Conditions(windy and somewhat cold) were not ideal but I felt like I got a decent understanding of how this disc flies. First I threw it into a right to left cross wind and it went extremely straight with a standard fade speed 13 driver finish. Next I threw it into a head wind. I knew it would turn over so I released it with a steep hyzer angle and it still flipped and crashed. I also threw it with a tail wind and it didn't fade out as early as say a destroyer might.

Overall, I liked the feel of the Gstar plastic in the colder temperatures. The rim is wide like all 13 speed drivers but still felt nice in my hand. It was fun to test out a new driver from Innova. This could be decent disc for new throwers but any speed 13 driver isn't ever the greatest idea for beginners.

I still want to throw this disc with out wind in a decent temperature to see its true flight. And when I do I'll update this review.
