Bought this disc on travel to play The Fort in Ogden Utah.  I tried to treat it like my Buzzz, but that was not happenning.  This disc keeps turning over and is true to the 0 Fade.  Even putting it on decent hyzer wouldn't work.  It just kept standing up and turning over.  Keep in mind, my arm is fairly Noodly.
If you are looking for a disc to give a newbie or a kid this disc will work, but I would rather go with a Buzzz or a Hex over this for the 5 speed straight mid range disc.

This was the first disc I bought to learn proper release. I found this disc to fly relatively consistent with my throwing. Once I got I little practice around the yard I headed out for a 9 hole round with just the one disc. I was able to just make par on an easy short course. I would highly recommend this disc for a beginner like my self to get some practice before trying to handle any faster less stable discs.

I got this disc in Champion and Gstar plastics and I can't really tell a difference in flight between the two. The disc goes straight or holds the angle you put on it. Everyone has talked about that, so I'll just add that this might be the most comfortable disc I own. It just fits the hand well, for some odd reason. All of the other discs in my bag are MVP, but the Mako3 has gone in - and will stay in - my bag. If you're thinking about getting one, just get it. I highly doubt you'll regret the decision.

This disc flies dead straight.  Super predictable.  My max distance with this disc is 295 feet.  I have drained a couple tunnel shots from 100+ feet with this disc.  Its my go to mid-range.

Arguably the best mid range disc ever made. It's ratings might make that deceiving, however here's why:

    - It reacts perfectly to whatever power you put behind it.

    - It holds any line you release it on.

    - Virtually zero fade or turn unless you release it on a specific angle wanting that outcome.

    - It glides for days under low power, but not in a way that makes it terrible for mildly windy days.

    - The more it breaks in the more you figure out that it could work on almost every shot outside of a huge flex or heavy fade shot.

It truly is a phenominal disc, should you bag it, yes, yes you should.

I was given a 167 gram Gstar Mako3 for Christmas, and, while it is a good disc, it's just too light for me. With that said, I think a 175 ish Mako3 in Star or Champion would be much better. The Mako 3 goes dead straight when thrown with about 70% power. If I throw it any harder it will hold an anhyzer line and finish right. If I throw it high, light, or with hyzer tilt, I can get a fair amount of hyzer out of this thing. Overall, I think this disc is mostly good for shots in the woods that are short and need to go dead straight or have minimal hyzer/anhyzer. Also I think it is great for beginners and people only using one disc.

It really does go dead straight, almost like a longer putter.  Like the other reviewers have said, it holds its line and it will not turn/burn over as long as you're not doing something wacky with your arm.  I do think the flight numbers are just a bit misleading, because they imply that this disc will just fall out of the sky without going left (RHBH).  This is not the case.  For example the Pure basically falls straight down at the end of the flight but the Mako3 will fade a little bit.  Also I think it has a bit more glide than 4, I have accidentally thrown it well past the basket on a few 225-250ft approaches with a flat release.

I've got a gstar Mako3 in max weight and it has become quite "flippy" I feel like the turn is more like a -1 than a -0.1. Its nice when I want to be sure to get some turn on an upshot (RHBH). Seems to have more glide than the listed 4. Reminds me of a Latitude 64 Claymore.

    Pros

    • I love the feel of the gstar plastic
    • Hit a 230 foot ace with this baby
    • Great straight flying mid for new players

    Cons

    • Gotta be careful in the wind. Can get turned over pretty easy.

I go to this midrange when I need a really straight shot. I bag this and a Roc3. It flies similar to the rock but has a different rim. The more rounded rim and flatter top seem to fly straighter with less fade. I like it for wooded tunnel shots.

Every player should have a Mako3 in their bag.

For beginners, the Mako3 will make a great first midrange, or a great addition to an early bag after a starter set. This disc is easy to throw, so beginners will be able to learn how to shape shots, throw forehands, and lean how to power up or down on the disc.

Ultimate Frisbee players will especially appreciate the Mako3, especially in champion plastic. It will feel more familiar both in the hand and in the air to the classic ultimate disc.

For experienced players, this will be a trusted disc for a variety of situations. Tight tunnel shots, get-out-of-trouble shots, touch forehands, and pinpoint approaches. Pick a line and this disc is capable of hitting it.

The Mako3 is a brilliant midrange, and pretty unique. There's not another disc I've tried that does the same things a Mako3 can do. There's a spot in every bag for it. It may not be a go-to for everybody, but if nothing else, it provides a great amount of utility.

I just played with this disc for the first time 2 days ago, and I was VERY impressed with just how easy it is to throw.  I'm a beginner who has trouble keeping shots consistent, but this disc gave me a lot of confidence--I was able to get it to fly straight and true on the majority of shots regardless of the wind.  It made me feel like I was able to actually put the disc where I wanted it, nearly every time.  For a beginner, that is everything!  It's easily my favorite disc so far!  Also, I really like the GStar plastic--super soft and flexible, and feels great in my hand.

Absolutly love my Mako3. it is my most used disc besides my putter, whatever line you put it on it will hold, if you throw it flat as far as you can you might see .5 fade at the end but thats it. I use this disc for just about anything but a overhead shot. I love it most for getting out of sticky situations because you can put it on a line and you know it will hold it the whole way. My friends can attest to the fact that I often say "Mako it happen" when using this disc and would love to get that stamped on the disc.

This disc has gradually taken over my rounds of late.  I really could play a round where I don't throw anything else inside of 250 feet and I don't feel like I'd be giving up very much at all.  Straight as an arrow, easy to put on finesse hyzer or anhyzer lines when you need that, comfortable grip for forehands or overheads, and it's not bad as an inside-the-circle putter, either.  The GStar plastic is durable and grippy as always.  I've called this "the best disc in the world" more than once.

Straight Straight Straight. The only thing you need to know about this disc to get you to buy it.  I always go to this disc for a low ceiling shot through some trees.
