180 gram Innova Mako3 in Champion plastic. Factory second disc, which is normally a good value if you don't mind any very minor cosmetic imperfections. I don't even know what was wrong with mine because it looks like a perfectly normal Champion disc to me. Champion plastic looks good and is quite durable. It can be a little slicker than Star or other plastics in the rain and I hear discs in Champion plastic are often slightly more overstable than most other plastics. For the Mako3, which is possibly the straightest flying mid range on the planet, I think Champion plastic is ideal if adds a tiny bit of stability. The flight numbers are accurate but, if thrown too hard it will turn right a little and will not fade back left. But it shouldn't turn too much unless you are throwing into a head wind or completely overpowered. This makes the Mako3 great for straight shots thru a narrow gap, which is one situation where I prefer it to my Discraft Buzzz. The Mako3 does not have as much left to right to left movement. It might be the perfect disc for beginners or anyone working on manipulating flight using release angles because it really only wants to go straight or go wherever you tell it to (unless you overpower it).

Flies dead straight when brand new. Beats into an excellent hyzer flip or turnover disc. Love throwing it in the woods.

I got this disc in my first batch of discs I got when first really starting disc golf, and it was and still is one of my favorite discs, especially as a beginner.  As a beginner I didn't want a disc to turn or fade, I just wanted the disc to go straight to where I wanted it to go and the mako3 does this beautifully every time.  It also really highlights bad releases because if you don't throw it flat then it obviously veers off course which it doesn't do if released properly.

One downside with a disc that flies straight as a beginner is if your release time is off (late specifically), it won't fade back at all to soften the bad throw.  This is actually how I lost my first mako3, with a bad release throwing late into a lake, where any other disc I had would have faded and landed on the shore of the lake, the mako 3 just kept the line which is usually good, but in this niche situation is bad.

Overall I highly recommend this disc as a first disc.  Its easy to throw, goes nice and straight and can get some distance.  As for plastics, I originally got a champion X-out, but after loosing it I upgraded to a regular champion and got a second champion xout for holes where I may loose it to water.  I love the feel of the champion plastic and prefer the slicker grip over many other 'grippier' materials.

I bought this disc for mid range and longer putts.  I bought this disc in 167 g and 172 g in champion x-out plastic.  I mostly use the 167 g disc for RHBH shots within 200 feet or less. It flies perfectly straight for 80% of the flight and it turns at the end slightly left.  I would recommend this for all players for a good mid range that basically goes straight but it will also fly how you let it go whether its anhyzer or hyzer.   Great disc!

This is definitely my favorite midrange disc that I've owned!  It goes super straight and essentially just stays on the line you want. Super beginner friendly! I think the only problem beginners would have is if they have a tendency to fluff shots, then it's really just not going to go anywhere. I use this for basically any shot around 100-275ft personally. Can go left or right, just put it on hyzer/anyhyzer. I also have no problem with the factory second plastic. My has a tiny black speck in the plastic that does not affect the disc at all, and the disc still looks super good. Wish I had gotten this sooner!
