The Katana is an amazing high-speed distance driver with major turn and fade. The Katana will move through the air like no other disc. This speed-13 driver has an incredible degree of high-speed turn (3) followed by major low-speed fade (3). Innova says this disc has “flight characteristics of the Sidewinder on steroids.” The Katana is capable of making huge turnover throws, and sailing for maximum distance.

Got a few mixed feelings on this one.  It's a good tailwind disc, nice S bend.  If you found the Vulcan a bit too prone to the 'ol turn and burn for your liking this is a slightly more power-capable alternative.  It is quite glidey, and I do rather enjoy the gstar plastic, it's soft and grippy, feels natural coming out of the hand.

Downside is twofold.  First, I've never really found a niche for this disc.  It's good enough for pretty open field drives that I want it in theory but in practice I have other discs I prefer for the job. Other downside is that I've seen some real variance between plastics and runs for the katana.  Some like mine are a bit more stable than the numbers indicate (gstar plastic) where my friend has had a couple that range from perfect to too understable to hopelessly unpredictable.

Great understable distance driver, my go-to disc for flex shots and max distance

Great disc, feels great in my hand. I primarily use it backhand off the tee. It can hold a hyzer line around a long dogleg left corner pretty well, I release it on a hard hyzer and it flips up a little but holds the hyzer line strong. The flight path picture is spot on when I release with a very slight hyzer or straight, all depends on power given.

My feeling about Blizzard katana (5/5) awesome disc, great S-curves.

With Gstar, the Katana just isn't as good. It has the fade as advertised, but really never turns much. Can't get great distance out of it, and like other gstars, it's gummy but not as gummy as some other plastics (k1 soft, flx) that I rarely ever bag it.

Let me start with this; I really wanted to like my Katana. I hate not liking discs that I have but for some reason I've never been able to get a throw that I'm happy with. I don't know if I got a bad run or if I was doing something wrong, but every time I've tried to throw it, it's been uselessly understable. I can but it on a vertical hyzer with 10% power and it will still fall all the way over into a roller angle. A lot of other reviews paint a very different picture of the katana, so I will assume that I got a bad run, but be careful when you buy one. It has the potential to be a disc that is borderline unusable.

I might have had a dud, but my star Katana flew very OS. I had a champ Katana that I  loved so I thought I could replace it with a Star one and beat it in to that sweet spot a little faster but I was wrong. For me this thing flies more OS than my Sheriff, Trespass, and Enigma. I would put in on par with my new DD3 or seasoned force, which is a 12 5 -1 3 and 12 5 03 for reference. I can still push this out to 430, but was surprised by the lack of turn on my specific disk. I don't want to discourage anyone from getting this though. It has great glide, and if you get the right one, you will have the farthest flying disc in your bag.

The katana is exactly as advertised for me. This is a great disc that you can throw on huge full s flight shots and get major distance with it. I have relatively large hands so the wide rim does not feel uncomfortable to me and I am able to get some good full flights out of this disc. This is a 13 speed so beginners should stay away from this until they have the armspeed capable of getting this disc up to speed. For my liking this disc has too much fade and a majority of times I find that the fade cuts the flight shorter than on other discs. It can be nice when you really rip on this disc and get it really turned over because the fade will bring it back over for extra distance but if you do not get it fully turned over it may dump out earlier than you like it. I only really find this disc useful in open field shots because the turn and fade can make it hard to control in woods. I find myself throwing a great shot on a tight wooded line only to have the turn take it straight into a tree or it to fade out a little earlier than wanted. But this disc is a great disc if you like bombing huge full flight shots and knowing your disc will be consistent in its fade. The katana may be the disc you need to increase your max distance, just make sure to keep in mind the rim is very wide and I know quite a few people who hate how it feels in the hand.

I found a G Star Katana at 150g (Almost like a G Star Lite??) at my local shop and it is such a fun disc. I'm somewhat of a beginner and throw primarily RHBH. This disc is a little too fast for my noodle arm to turn over, but I can throw it flat and get about 290-300 out of it. Today, however, I tried throwing it forehand and that thing can flat out FLY. Out of 4 throws, 3 went over 300 feet, with one maxing out at 354. That is my longest forehand and second longest throw of any kind ever! It had a beautiful S curve and flew from point A to point B pretty well, except for one time when I threw it into a light headwind. Then it turned over a quite a bit to the left before hooking most of the way back to the right. Still threw it over 300. This thing is super fun to throw low and watch it take massive skips. I love how wide and flat the disc feels in my hand.
