The Katana is an amazing high-speed distance driver with major turn and fade. The Katana will move through the air like no other disc. This speed-13 driver has an incredible degree of high-speed turn (3) followed by major low-speed fade (3). Innova says this disc has “flight characteristics of the Sidewinder on steroids.” The Katana is capable of making huge turnover throws, and sailing for maximum distance.

I just bought a X-out Katana Champion 162 gram. It turns harder and quicker than my Monster. This Katana is nothing like my Star Katana 174 gram which I can get my longest drives from. Hopefully with some sanding and more break-in time it will fly better. Very disappointed.

I picked up an X-Out from here with a slight cosmetic blemish, but in a color I couldn't resist. My first throw with the disc, I attempted a roller on a 450+ foot. hole, and it came out perfectly. I somehow got the correct angle on the disc when it hit the ground, and the wide rim kept it going for well over 350 feet through the trees and over the roots.

I've been experimenting with more understable discs, now that I feel more confident in throwing drivers that can perform in the wind. I have loved playing with this disc, trying long anhyzer lines around obstacles as well as rollers and fast shots under low ceilings.

My only complaint is that the Katana's fade doesn't seem anything like the 3 of my Wraith, which fights back hard out of any line as it slows down. I haven't really thrown this at anything under 75 percent arm speed, and I can't imagine why I would (not counting rollers), so I don't anticipate this disc ever fading harder than it does now, especially as it breaks in. But overall, I have found plenty of uses for my Katana on courses with any sort of open fairway.
