Great for max distance for slower arms. If I release this flat it will have a big flipping turn and soft hyzer finish. That said the high number of high-speed turn makes this disc touchy for those shots that need a specific shape or will be affected by the wind. When you don't catch its sweet spot in your release.

Got sick the other week and ordered WAY too many discs while stuck at home. One of the sets of discs I picked up was the Nuke SS. With a speed of 13, I didn't think I'd have the arm speed to throw it, but... I was sick and not thinking right so I ordered it. Turns out... I can throw this disc pretty far for my arm! The first round I took it out I kept struggling to find my discs on blind shots because they were further than I'm used to looking by a good chunk! The glide out of this disc is phenomenal, it just wants to keep going! I also thought the fade wasn't that bad either. My new go to driver for covering max distance.

Disc Comparisons as a RHBH player:

ESP Thrasher 170 - Surprisingly this was a bit more over stable than the Nuke. My thrashers are not domey at all though. Prefer the Thrasher into a headwind over the Nuke SS.

ESP Heat 172 - Way less speed, a chunk less glide, and notably more flippy for me. Prefer it in a tailwind.

ESP Glide 167 - Similar flip to the Nuke SS, but will hold the flip longer and keep gliding. Less flip than the Heat but better hold. Prefer it when I need to cover maximum distance traveling left to right.

Z Mantis 172 - Less distance, less glide, more overstable. For when I need to go left, but don't want to fall out of the sky like I will with a regular Nuke. Prefer it in the wind, prefer it when I have to stay left at all costs.

I absolutely loved this disc. I throw the Nuke a lot and I love the way it feels but I never was great at getting max distance out of it cause it was just barely overstable for my arm. I got this Nuke SS in hopes I could get a little more distance and it has done that and more. I can absolutely rip this on a slight hyzer and watch it flip up flat and just glide down the fairway. My normal throwing range in a round is somewhere between 325-375 depending on how much I try and put on the disc. But with this disc I can hit close to 425 if I let it go the full flight. I am a huge fan of this disc personally and am torn on whether this could be considered a beginners disc. It's understable which is great for newer players to learn with but it is still high speed. If you come from a background that gives good arm power such as baseball or ultimate then this would be a great disc to give a try. But otherwise I'd steer clear of this until you have a little experience under your belt. I throw all three of the Nuke mold now and this one is definitely my favorite by far for drives. I would recommend adding this to your bag if you are in search of a good distance driver.

Very good distance driver. Much easier to control that the Nuke or Zeus and still has the consistent hyzer finish after a little flip.

Even my weak arm can throw this far and straight! I love seeing this disc glide and land right where I want it to! I still would not recommend this unless you have some experience.

One of the first discs i purchased. Well broke in now after a year plus of playing. The SS started out as a very easy flex rhbh disc, now it is pretty much my long distance throwler disc. throw on moderate hyzer, it flips to flat about 80 feet then dumps on its back around 100-120 to roll for 200+ depending on ground bounce.

This disc is really fast and really long. I would not recommend throwing this disc as early as I did(within a year of starting) but it does give big distance if you can get it up to speed. The misconception I had of this disc is that SS, which stands for super straight, means that it is straight throughout its entire flight. What it really means is that it will get a lot of turn, and a sizable fade which in the end will see it landing close to the center of the fairway if you are throwing in an open field. Unfortunately I lost mine years ago so I can't say how it reacts when thrown with good power, but as a rec player I could occasionally get it to turn so I would say it's pretty flippy!
