The Nuke SS is a super-fast, super-understable distance driver from Discraft. I knew it was going to be understable, but I didn’t anticipate quite how understable it would be brand new. I started releasing flat, and it completely turned into a roller. I then tried to hyzer it on half power, and it flipped and actually started flying almost sideways before fading back. So, pretty much unusable for me for air shots. However, it is a great roller disc for low ceilings, or if you have a slower arm speed. I don’t recommend it unless you need a roller disc right now, because you could always just get a more stable disc and beat it in.

The Nuke SS is a very good max distance driver for most players with a medium arm speed. For me it flies like a faster Thrasher. The Nuke SS I would say is somewhat beginner friendly because it is not understable enough for people with slower arms. I would say that this is a good disc for more intermediate players who have a good amount of arm speed. I can reach 340 with this disc and im 15 so it works great for me. This disc is also very good for shaping shots in wooded holes. It is kinda like an Avenger SS in that standpoint. You can put this disc on an anny and it will just hold it for most of its flight and then have a very predictable fade at the end. Great for getting around trees. All in all I think that this disc should be in the bag of every intermediate player with a bigger arm.

I am a big fan of the nuke discs, I have a regular nuke, Nuke OS, and Nuke SS. The Nuke SS in titanium plastic is one of the most inconsistent discs I have ever thrown. This disc is not good to throw in any kind of a head wind. This disc is strongly effected by wind. The Nuke SS can be thrown on the same angle 10 times and not a single throw will have the same flight path. However this disc is good to use in tail wind. When thrown in a tailwind it can get max distance when thrown on a hyzer flip. Great disc if you play somewhere other than Kansas where it is extremely windy.

This disc is a great tailwind disc, easy to flip and provides a good skip. I found it to be a good turn over disc for me while I was working on my flick.

The Nuke SS does what it does very well. Not a beginner disc, but one of the first to pick up when moving into distance drivers. Weaker arms should see a slight S-curve when thrown flat. As arm speed increases release on a hyzer and watch the disc stand up, roll to the right (RHBH) and fade out at the end for max distance. My buddy liked mine so much he bought one for himself. If you throw 310’ or less and you find this disc turns and burns know that it’s your form that is producing this.  My go-to driver on open holes with no headwind.

Got my Nuke SS in Titanium plastic (167 grams) this spring.  The plastic blend is great, very durable and has a good feel in the hand with decent grip.  The disc itself is very touchy, but when thrown correctly can yield very good results.  The flight numbers are close, i feel like there is a bit less than 3 fade, but otherwise they are spot on.  In my experience, the Nuke SS becomes squirrely when thrown with lots of force (I have an average arm at best throwing RHFH).  Even when thrown with lots of hyzer it usually it turns and burns if I try to throw too hard.  However if I ease up and focus on form the Nuke SS can really fly far, I have thrown this farther than any other disc I own.  The Nuke SS is great for hyzer flips and long S-curve shots, not so much as an every hole workhorse driver, as I use it only a few times per round at this point.  Overall, a good disc for long & open shots, as long as you try to throw it smoothly... but I wouldn't recommend this disc for those who throw for power.

Five star disc, great addition to my set. Great for headwind, and long distance shots. High speed disc makes a great drive every time back hand or fore hand.

The nuke ss is probably my farther flying disc. If you accidentally turn it over is won't come back so be careful if your at a course that you can loose them!

Beginner beware! I learned speed ratings and arm speeds the hard way, by throwing discs that were far too fast for me… The Nuke SS is one of those discs. Once you have worked your way up to the speed of a Nuke it will fly and fly and fly…. Awesome disc.

Official review! So after several rounds with my Titanium Nuke SS, I saw great distance, but inconsistent and uncontrollable flights. Into a headwind, this disc always flips over and doesn't come out of it, unless I throw it high enough. This is definitely not the disc to throw into a strong wind. In a tailwind, it flies really far and straight if thrown flat. If I really snap this disc in a tailwind, it will turn just slightly and just take off. In a right-to-left crosswind, it can be thrown against the wind, and it holds the line for a while, but usually always finishes left with a hyzer. Besides that, I'd say that flat releases with this disc produce the most distance, just because of the "S" flight. This would make a great first high-speed driver for new golfers.

This is going to be just a pre-review, since I just barely got a Titanium Nuke SS. Mine is 171 Pink. So far, this disc flies amazing on backhands and forehand flicks. When given enough height, it turns a little bit and then hyzers back to the ground. Looking forward to throwing this disc some more!
