It's funny, the description for the Crank is that falls somewhere between the Nuke and the Nuke SS. My old Z Nuke SS would fit that description. Discraft uses a stability index and gives the Nuke SS a 1.0 rating, the Crank a 1.3, and the Nuke a 1.6. My Z-FLX Nuke SS, however, flies a lot more stable than my ESP Crank. Granted, that Crank is a bit beat-in, but my Z-FLX Nuke SS is not the easy hyzer-flip disc that the Z version was for me. Don't get me wrong, it absolutely flips for a nice long ride, but you need a substantial bit of arm to make it happen with my particular disc. That's not a bad thing, but it's worth noting how much closer to a Nuke this flies in Z-FLX. I get almost identical lines with a lightweight (and fairly new) pro-d Nuke that I do with this Z-FLX Nuke SS. If you like the wing on a Nuke but it is too OS, this disc is nice because as you grow into it and out of it, you can seamlessly move into throwing nukes.

I do like this disc but most of the other reviews on this are correct.  You are better off getting a Nuke and just beating it in.  In the end it will be more reliable.  This disc is simply too understable even for the 13 speed.  You can definitely get some nice max distance if thrown perfectly but its very touchy and just not a disc that will give you confidence.  I still bag one but I have a really big bag and usually regret using it. Only for wide open holes.  Rim is a bit wide but the plastic still feels really nice in hand.  Get a regular Nuke!

I don't quite have the arm power to truly unleash this beast. I occaisionally will get a tad of turn out of it, but mostly long straight flights with very predictable decent fade. I love the overstability of this disc in the FLX plastic for utility shots.

Easy disc to just throw out there if you have a bit of arm speed.  Good for forehand I personally think.  There are better discs out there but if you are a beginner don't look away from this disc since it's good both forehand and backhand for beginners.
