a great option for players looking to add effortless distance to their throws. With its understable flight and impressive glide, it’s perfect for hyzer flips, long turnovers, and even rollers. Ideal for beginners and those with slower arm speeds, it’s a fun and versatile addition to any bag.

Love this disc! Got one yesterday at a pro shop and can't believe I haven't thrown one sooner!

This disc flys quite straight and I was able to break my fieldwork distance record on the course with the Nuke SS. I have larger hands, so I had no issue with the thicker rim. Definitely more comfortable than most 13 speeds I've used

An out of the box bomber. Very nice feeling distance driver in the hand. The rim supposedly is very wide but I don't find that to be an issue. It has a shallow rim compared to say, a destroyer, but it isn't so shallow like a latitude 64 grace, Innova katana, dynamic discs captain, or lone star curl. So it basically is in the sweet spot of rim depth. This is not a disc for fighting head winds, but otherwise it bombs. One of the better understable distance drivers in my experience

The Nuke SS can provide a mile-long gorgeous S-curve drive for intermediate players, and because of its significant turn (-3), it's not necessarily out of reach for many new players. In fact, beginners might find surprisingly long distances from an X-line Nuke SS, which tends to have more glide than Discraft's more durable plastics. This disc has an extra wide rim which can take some getting used to, but if you can get it up to speed, the Nuke SS will provide extra distance above and beyond what most players can achieve with an Innova Wraith or Destroyer.

I have a beat in Nuke SS and let me say... THIS THING FLIPS! It's almost scary how much it flips. The angle I have to release on almost seems unreal to me at times. Whether bh or fh I release this disc nearly vertical, pointed at the ground. (I feel like Hokum when I throw a forehand) If I release it anywhere close to flat it is turning over into oblivion. That being said when I force myself to give it what feels like too much hyzer it flips up and flys FAR! So far that I am interested in a regular Nuke or Nuke OS for windy conditions and to see if I can throw just as far with a flatter release. The ratings are pretty accurate but mine seems to have less fade, seems to finish closer to where it flips up rather than fighting back in line with where it was thrown.

Idk why but this disc didn't do it for me. It may be a lack of power for me, but for turnovers (which I'd assume such an understable driver should be good for) I'd rather have something a little slower and more controllable and for bombs I'd rather have something a little more stable so it holds up netter. Agar could just be a me problem but that was my experience.

This is my favorite roller disc without question. Amazingly easy to get it at the right angle and have it roll 350+ feet.

I don't have 13 speed power but throw it every once in a while and it flies pretty well. I normally have about 325ft power and can get this one there as well. I think this is a great choice since it can either be a skill builder if you're looking for more flying distance or a great roller for anyone. Does not work well for forehands.

The Nuke SS flies a lot like a beat up Avenger SS for me. I was hoping this would fly kinda like my Avenger SS but with a larger fade at the end. But I found that this disc was very understable. I can throw this flat and get a nice panning anhyzer if thrown high enough with a good amount of power. I can get a hyzer flip up with some turn before a soft fade at the end. I think this would be a useful disc for a lot of people but I find my Avenger SS can do everything this disc can just be more consistent for me. I find this disc to get very unreliable when the wind picks up a little and I do not like the inconsistency. I think this might be a really good first distance driver for beginners that are at the point where they can step up to a distance driver but some may not enjoy it. If you like the feeling of a nuke but want something that is understable and can be shaped I would check this out. I do enjoy how this disc feels in my hand and it has made me want to throw nukes again.

This was my very first driver before I knew anything about disc golf, so I feel like I can confidently say even though it is a -3 tern it is still not beginner friendly. I'm not saying it's a bad disc, I'm saying this a great driver for Intermediates getting into distance drivers. You can get a nice s-curve out of this disc or even hyzer lines forehand or backhand for lower level players. Once you start developing your shot though and get more torque in your throw, this disc basically becomes a roller disc. The thing I don't like about it along with the other Nukes is the shallow rim.

If you don't have a lot of arm strength or not the best technique the over stability of this disk well help you out. When thrown properly it does give you a nice S curve flight path. A good 1st disc to try at this speed. Flys great and is fairly forgiving.  Good for forehand or backhand. I use this when I don't need as much turn as a mamba or Sidewinder , still want some turn on a shot.

This disc is very new to me. But I have truly found a special kind of love for it in my bag. With the right amount of power (which took me a while to figure out) you can rip this disc and have almost the perfect flex line that you could even ask for. I first started looking in to this disc when I watched a video of McBeth and his wife throwing this. It seemed to be a great disc to throw and I came to figure out that my buddy that lives near me owns one. So I ended up getting to throw this disc and truly find out if I liked it or not. It had a weird and uncomfortable feel in my hand at first but I kind of fell in love with it after a few throws. And so I have now purchased and I plan to purchase another very soon. But you definitely have to have experience playing before you use this disc. It's a little tricky at first but it's a fun disc to throw

This is a weird disc as it really can't handle much power, but it is also too fast for a beginner disc. If you are starting out, you should really be sticking with discs that are slower than the Nuke SS. This disc is flip city. Even throwing flat, you're just as likely to get a roller as not. I've put this thing on a NICE hyzer and thrown at 80 percent power and still had it roll over. Unless you are looking for a disc to get down on a quick roller, I wouldn't get a Nuke SS.

I Was hoping this would be more Katana, but was too unreliable for me.

I recently came into ownership of 2 Nuke SS's, one being a first run. After throwing them a few times I found that I"m not a fan of them. Personally I found them to be much more over stable than they were listed as. at a 13/5/-3/3 I was expecting to be able to throw it on a slight hyzer and get a full s curve out of it. Instead they both turned and burned on me. I found that the Nuke SS to be more overstable and unpredictable than both my Star Shryke and Champion Daudalus. I know some will be the comparison of plastics, but even taking that into account I would rate this as more of a 12/5/-4/2.5. If you're someone who usually struggles to get enough arm speed for a 13 speed, this one may make for a decent transition.,

Excellent flight when thrown with power. Couldn't quite get my self to bag a Nuke even though it was one of my first discs, and let's face it i picked it cause of the cool stamp and name. That being said I got the chance to throw the SS and I must say I really liked the way it flew when my power became more developed. If you haven't given this one a try, go for cause you never know until you give it a good rip!

The Nuke SS, from Discraft, still has a large, wide rim that just doesn't sit well in my hand. Although I am not a fan of the feel of this disc, the flight was really good for open distance shots. If given room, I could put some power on this and watch a beautiful S-Flight that got some great distance. I couldn't see myself adding this to my bag though, as I just wasn't consistent with it. Don't be fooled by the SS on this disc, I really had to put some power on it to get the full flight. Not a great disc for new players.

I have 2 Nuke SS's, and they fly completely different from each other.  I have an Elite Z which I used a lot when I first started playing.  It holds up nice, but like many understable discs, it can be very finicky.  I threw this with a FH and it turned over a lot, even with a huge hyzer release.  It left my bag for that reason.
The titanium one is so ridiculously understable it won't do anything but become a roller.  It is very domey, not sure if that has anything to do with the flight, but it flips so quickly it is almost un-throwable.  I only use it for rollers now.
I had some beginners in my local club use this and it worked well for them.  They could get much better flights out of it than I ever could.

So in summation, this is a great beginner disc, or a great disc for a noodle arm.  You will get a good flight and have great results. If you have any power, this will probably just frustrate you.

Was able to get ahold of a Nuke SS in the Z-lite plastic at 150g. I never thought I would be able to throw let alone turn over a 13 speed disc. Once again Discraft and their discs have allowed this rec player to be able to throw a speed 13 disc that reliably flies extremely well.

Since I know what the disc is going to do every time. I am able to crank on it, and know that its going to get the S curve and most distance I can from the disc. If I had to say anything negative, its that I wish I had gotten it a bit heavier, as it tends to go right a bit too much.

Beginner to advanced, i recommend trying to trow this disc. You might be surprised at the outcome.

Give NukeSS a wide open field and it will give you a great big beautiful S shaped drive.  Out of my hand it starts turning and just when I think I've lost it to the right the stability kicks in and it fades all the way back to target.  For players with big arms I'm sure this disc is too under stable but I throw about 300-350 with it and it doesn't get too flippy.  It dose however need plenty of room on both sides because going in a straight line something this disc dose.

The Nuke SS treads into strange Territory, and is a disc that I still can't quite grasp what it's intended use is. The Nuke SS has a big rim and generally a pretty domey profile. The feel in the hand as a result is a bit strange but is serviceable for most players. The edge of this disc is quite sharp making it ideal for very fast throws. My test subject was an Elite Z at around 166g.

The flight of the Nuke SS is hard to describe without using words like bizarre, and inconsistent. It is a very fast disc and will require decent arm speed to get it up on to plane and fly it's intended flight. It has such a substantial amount of turn that you almost have to hyzer flip this disc to avoid a turn and burn or a roller. It has a substantial amount of fade also which is quite strange. So ideally to get a good flight out of it you need to throw it pretty high slightly nose up to get it to ride a full S pattern. If you can dial in a shot you can get some pretty decent distance but in all honesty I can get a far more consistent and equally as far flight using a disc that is a little bit slower and more stable.

The Nuke SS would probably work well in a massive tailwind but will become even less predictable in a head or crosswind situation.

Despite being flippy as all get out this disc is awful for beginners which ironically who this disc was made for. The problem is it rewards a throwing style that honestly does not work well for higher levels of play. After giving this to a friend who throws nose up with pretty slow armspeed he was able to get a decent amount more distance. The problem is it is reinforcing his pretty bad form since he can do the same thing and get a little further.

The Nuke SS is nothing short of a head scratcher, on one hand I can kinda see the idea with it being a nuke for people who want to throw nukes but haven't yet reached that skill level. On the other hand discing down to something slower and a touch more stable can probably yield more consistent result than what this disc can provide. It's weird niche, and not particularly useful outside of a few odd ball scenarios 2/5 stars is about as far as I would take this disc but if it does suit you it is nice to know that Discraft has a lot of weights and plastic types available for it.

Height and hyzer. That's all this disc needs. Unless you're pushing 500ft, there's no reason this disc should be burning on you. With an open field, this is easy distance, and for newer players it's a good tool to learn controlled distance hyzer flips. This is my roller/uphill/tailwind Nuke. I've got 430ish of power, and released flat on flat ground, absolutely: it's flippy. I don't release any distance shots flat anyway...neither do most pros. It's either hyzerflip or annyflex.

The 5 stars are for the combined trio: Nuke, NukeOS, and NukeSS.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Nuke SS. Some of my furthest early drives were with one of these in Elite Z (175g). On the other hand, aside from my dad's tie-dye Blizzard Destroyer, I've spent more time looking for this disc than any I've ever bagged. This is one of the most unforgiving discs I've thrown to date. Subsequently, I don't bag them anymore.

The flight itself always seemed to require a lot of thought beforehand. Is the wind in my face? Is there OB on the right? Are there cars coming or people around? If I answered yes to these and many other questions, and then threw it anyway, it would inevitably fly toward whatever danger awaited me.

When thrown properly, this beast flies forever, usually yielding a big skip at the end. Throw it flat and you'll be watching a glorious S turn that will make you smile and congratulate yourself. With a bit of hyzer, it will stand up and glide like a beat in Destroyer. Just don't get too comfortable with it or you'll probably regret it.

I would recommend beating in your favorite high speed driver for a similar flight path. You'll find it to be much more reliable than the Nuke SS.

First off, the rim on this thing is MASSIVE. The one I picked up was slightly used. I enjoyed It for a while but it then became too inconsistent. I could flip it over some times and other times, even on the same line with the same power, it would flatten out and then hyzer out way off target at the end. I would love to give this thing a 3.5, maybe its just personal preference, but definitely not my go to disc.

This was the first driver and after about 10 deep, I still use my Nuke SS 171-172 nearly every drive. I throw FH for this disc and can do anything from a 350 ft drive (3 months in playing disc golf) to a FH roller that will finish left. I think I got a beefy one because it rarely gets away and burns me flipping when I don't want it to. That said, any disc can be thrown FH with the right form and snap. Thrown flat or slight hyzer with some arm, and good things happen! I even use this for big upshots sometimes because it's so predictable for me.

It doesn't quite meet my anhyzer disc, as it ends up cut rolling at the end, it's good for hyzerflips but I don't hzyerflip much, It is a good roller disc for me though, but I rarely throw rollers.  The only real success I've had throwing this was on large sky anny flex shots, but I don't usually have the room or wind conditions to allow for that type of shot.  I do have this in my bag, but only as a roller at this point.

The Nuke SS is a great disc for those who love a beat in Nuke but don't have the time to beat one in. The rim feels just like a regular Nuke in the hand, but it has a great turnover flight that can get the extra distance when it has room to work. Once there is a little bit of a beat in to it, the disc is also a great choice for a roller as it will flip over nicely and that wide rim will help it carve its way through the grass. Also great for those working their way into distance drivers but don't yet want to get something as overstable as a Nuke

I really, really like the Nuke SS. It works as advertised and is pretty flippy. Outstanding glide and speed. Much thinner profile than the regular Nuke, the Nuke SS slices through the air better than almost any other disc.

Now, you definitely have to know when to use the Nuke SS and when to leave it in the bag. If you have a long, open hole in calm or downwind conditions, pull it out. If you're on a tight hole or in headwind conditions, forget it. The Nuke SS is a bit tough to get on the proper line to maximize flight. However, when you find that magical line it'll go effortlessly as far as any driver on the market.

Definitely a niche disc. Not good for every drive. Beginners will love it. Easy to get to cruising speed.

The Nuke SS was a purchase made based on my usage of the Nuke OS (elite Z) and the Nuke (Titanium). I can tell that there is a lot of potential with the Nuke SS; however, I have never felt like I have good grip/control while throwing. Even with a fan grip, it hasn't been there for me. It has a nice wide rim, but is super shallow profile. (which to some can be a PRO or a CON).

If you are a fan of the Nuke OS -- and the Nuke, and want something with a more stable throw with the distance of the Discraft Max distance, I would suggest a Crank before the Nuke SS.

As long as you don't get lazy with your form and turn your shot over, the Nuke SS is a very predictable driver with some mammoth distance potential.  I probably wouldn't use it for an alley shot in the woods, as it does have some understable turn.  Otherwise, it's a big predictable S that can consistently give you a 2-look on any open hole inside of 400'.

This is the understable version of the Nuke, and it flies pretty much as advertised. It is a 13 speed disc, and I struggle to get it up to speed. Lighter or more beat in versions I have thrown fly well, while newer, heavier ones fly pretty straight for me, to a fade at the end. That's pretty much all I can say about this one.

The rim is huge on this thing, so if you don't have big hands and it's your first disc with a huge rim this will take some adjustment. It will fly pretty far though.

Have very mixed feelings about this disc. Love my katanas and when i get a good throw this does remind me of that fljght. The problem is i get 0 consistancy w the one i have. Really trying to figure this disc out but untill i do i am not a fan. Sure i could ome up w others but have to say this may be worst disc i posses and still try to throw

Discrafts answer to Innova's Katana. A flip-hyzer disc for those who don't generate the power for the Nuke or Destoyers. Long distance, tail wind disc. Throw it on a slight hyzer, high, and watch if fly long and far in a S pattern.

This is my go to disc! I can get more distance with this disc than any others in my bag! When new it will follow a beautiful S-curve and when it is broken in, you can release on a hyzer line and it will turn over for maximum distance. For beginners, this disc is excellent! For the long bombs, this is the disc. For windier situations, check out its more overstable brother, then Nuke!

Update: Now that I have played more, the Nuke SS is a disc I can release on a hyzer and have flip over and hold that turn for some time before it fades back to the left.  I don't quite get the s-curve any more as I turn it over a lot more.  It is perfect for the shots I need an anhyzer release (for me turning right to left).  It is still a perfect disc for my bag.
