A good replacement for my Innova Valkyrie in my bag was a combo of this and the Discraft Undertaker. This disc flips easily and glides for days. The Z FLX plastic feels great in the hand. As my arm and technique have gotten better this disc has sometime gotten overpowered and turned into a roller. Still has its uses and lives in my bag.  Sometimes I wish it had a bit more fade at the end.

Flippy and glidey disc that absolutely bombs. Love the feel of the Z FLX plastic. Even noodle arms will manage to get this one to flip some. As someone who only throws 375, I have to throw mine on about 15 degree angle to not be a throller

I threw this disc in a field when I first got it and immediately knew it would stay in my bag.  Has fantastic turn and a nice gentle finish.  It glides for days as well.  You can really give it some height and it still get a baby turn.  Seems like a very forgiving disc.  I was a little worried the Z FLX plastic would feel floppy, but it has just enough stiffness to it to not feel super gummy in the spring heat.

The first time I threw this disc I was very new but I could get at least 50 more feet than any other disc I tried at that point. Since then I've gotten more discs and skill but i still go back to heat when I need a solid predictable hyzer flip line or sharp anhyzer line. The z flx plastic provides awesome grip unless it gets wet.

The Heat is a suprisingly good fairway/distance driver from Discraft. Speed-wise its right between a long fairway and a short distance disc. The Heat actually will go 400'+ on big rips, but I found it more useful for softer drives where a straight line is vital. The Heat is one of the straightest drivers I've ever thrown. It'll hold a very floaty line before very gently fading a bit at the very end of flight.

If you want to throw the Heat hard you'll need to hyzerflip it. Its a good disc for hyzerflips, pops up fairly easily. The Heat is at least somewhat resistant to total flipping. I was able to throw it very hard hyzer and keep it on a good line.

Good beginner disc. It'll maximize distance for soft throwers. More experienced players would find the Heat useful for threading a low, straight tunnel shot. Most comparable disc to the Heat is probably the Sidewinder. I prefer the Heat, as it has a straighter flight.

One of my "indispensable" drivers. This might be the straightest driver I ever threw. I've thrown a Heat in just about every plastic. I like the FLX Z and Big Z versions the best. I throw rhbh.

The Heat is very versatile. I've thrown it as a long midrange disc, fairway driver and short driver. With a tailwind this disc bombs. It has a great glide, longer glide than just about any other driver I have ever thrown. Big arms will probably flip this disc a little too much, perhaps. For me it goes slightly right then fades slightly left at the end if its flight, resulting in a very predictable straight flight.

Into a headwind this isn't your best choice, but for light winds it calm days I have found NO driver more accurate or predictable. The FLX Z has an incredible soft, slightly gummy feel, and doesn't skip too far. It's a great plastic choice for the Heat.

There's a few discs I will always put in the bag. This is one if them.

    Z FLX, 167 g.

RHFH:  When I first got this I used this to bomb forehand drives.  Was my go to driver: goes far, has good glide and predictable. After progressing and adding distance, this is no longer my main forehand driver.  Still controllably straight with a hyzer though  Also good for shorter holes with a fan grip, nice predictable fade.

My average fh driving distance for your reference 300-350ft

RHBH: As I've continued to improve my backhand this goes laser straight with minimal to no fade.  I now understand why Discraft gave this a zero rating (FYI it has a strong, but predictable, fade if not thrown up to speed - and this is where I could see beginners having some issue with this disc and why I rated as "somewhat" beginner friendly).  It also feels faster than the speed rating given on most sites. Almost feels like an 11 speed...

I'm sort of surprised that this disc doesn't have more fan-fare.  At my power level, I would not call this a flippy disc.  I through it with a very slight hyzer but if comparing to my Thrasher, thrasher is more understable than my Heat and requires a greater hyzer angle..for reference.

My average backhand distances.  With this disc accurate golf lines 275-315.  Best distances probably 330-350?  All for your reference to determine whether this is right disc for you.

By the way, I personally love the look and the feel for the Z FLX plastic.

a great disc for beginners. i purchased this disc to be a replacement for the innova dragon. i find the heat can take more power than the dragon before it turns over if thrown to hard. for the reason i bought the heat for it is performing better than i thought. i can forehand and backhand this disc with no problems and find that i am much closer to baskets for a second throw. i really enjoy the heat.
