I'm still learning how to throw this disc. I know it's in my release but it doesn't always react the way I think it should. Again, I'm sure it's my release, not the disc. It's got decent distance for beginners with slower arm speeds that use a true distance driver.

    170 X Heat
Definitely a good beginner disc that helped me gain confidence in my distance and RHBH form. I think it was mostly the tremendous glide that the Heat brings that got me more distance than I was used to. Brand new, you can start getting those nice long S curve type shots right off the bat. As it's started to beat in, mine needs a bit more hyzer to stop it from turning all the way over but sometimes that's that the play.

The thing I like most about the heat is the rim profile. It's not too wide or thin and I can power grip it comfortably.

    172g X Heat

The only disc from my starter pack still in my bag. This disc has become my go-to for long anhyzer shots. It holds the anhyzer line down to the ground unless you give it lots of height. Very easy to hyzerflip as well. Mine is pop-top domey, with more glide than anything else in my bag. Very comfortable rim.

Whenever I take out athletic people for their first round, this is the disc I give them to drive with.

    I LOVE THIS DISC!

From the moment i stated playing I was able to get far straight to understable S curve flight from this disc. Its going to make me sound crazy, and probably because im a rec player, but this is my go to tunnel disc.

The disc is a bit beat in and I've found that its super straight in the X plastic when its a bit worn in. I use it when i need to stay low, straight, and long distance. Try the disc, love the disc, bag the disc. Just get one, and you'll see.

This is a great beginner disc, but I found it a little too understable for distance throws. I throw a lot of understable drivers, but my X Heat was more understable out of the box than my TP Hatchet that had taken years of abuse. The only thing I could compare it to is an Innova Archangel. That probably makes it a great disc for beginners, but even for someone like me who's generally throwing a little over 325 feet, the Heat just seems too finicky. Also, most Heats are extremely domey, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. The dome doesn't bother me, but be aware that the dome seems to be one of the key features of this disc.

Edit: I've increased my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars because I started using the Heat as a turnover disc in my bag. This is the most understable driver I have, so I experimented with throwing the Heat on right turning holes so that I wouldn't have to try so hard to force a disc over. Where I have to throw a Hatchet with a flat release to ensure that it will finish right, I can throw the Heat with a hyzer release. Even with a hyzer release it will still flip up to flat and then continue turning right, which allows me to throw a shot that will fly straight for a couple hundred feet and then turn right later in the flight. I still don't think the Heat has very much distance potential except as a first driver for a complete beginner, but even for a more skilled player it can still fill a nice spot as a utility disc, especially if you play in the woods where the wind isn't going to turn your disc over unexpectedly.

    Elite X - 163g

Overall, really a good control driver that can give you some pretty good distance if needed. I primarily throw RHFH drives, but I am beginning to focus a lot more on developing a decent backhand drive. I picked up this disc to have a beginner friendly backhand disc really for just learning better mechanics for my throw (since all of my other drivers are quite overstable). I've had it for a few weeks now, and it has really helped in practice. My wife (who is just learning to play) also throws this disc and can get some okay distance with it. If you don't really put a lot into a throw, this disc doesn't have a great deal of glide - having beginners or backhand beginners like myself in mind is why I gave it a lower glide rating than what's listed.

Now... speaking in terms of my RHFH using this disc, this thing does have some glide (since I can get an overall better quality throw with it RHFH at this point). When cranked up on a hyzer, it flips up and over to drift left for a surprisingly long time and then fades back right (still finishing a little left of center in most cases). I've used it on some longer uphill 'approach' shots (still thrown RHFH), and it penetrates while finishing pretty soft without too much back-trailing fade. Pretty versatile disc!

Recently picked up a Heat from a local retailer just on a whim. This disc gets a lot of distance without a lot of effort. I am in my 50's and primarily throw sidearm. This is not a sidearm disc! I throw the Heat backhand with some hyzer and it will flip up flat, move to the right and finish slightly left. To get distance with it, you need room for the disc to work. Not a disc I would throw in tight fairways or woods. However, I am able to get just as much distance as I can with some higher speed discs. Will be staying in my bag.
