Everyone really should try this disc at some point. If you release it clean with plenty of spin it will follow whatever angle you start it on and glide for 300+ feet, but it does not like OAT at all. Great for learning as you get instant feedback on your mistakes.

I don't really get the hate for the hand feel - I'd bet if you blindfolded them 95% of people couldn't tell the difference between this and a Roc.

We own a 175g Titanium version of this disc.  I'm disappointed in Discraft's Titanium plastic.  Without much use, it shows more sign of wear than Innova Star, Innova Champion, Viking Armor, Gateway Platinum, and Westside VIP discs that we use WAY more often.  My 10-year-old son primarily uses this disc; and we sometimes share it with friends when they play with us.  It's a predictable disc, although it has a fair amount of turn if you throw it too hard.  The glide is fine and it doesn't fade very much.  It fades significantly less than DD Truth, but it doesn't go as far.  These qualities seem to make it a good approach disc.  However, I prefer Infinite Disc's Chariot and Discraft's Buzzz to Comet.

The Comet is, as always, a great flying disc even in Z GLO. The only thing it doesn't do well is glow. Many find glow plastic to make discs over stable, but my zGlo Comet flies very similarly to my other comet. It has by far the weakest glow of any of my other discs. I have tried glow discs from Innova, Gateway, Dynamic, and of course Kastaplast, and my Z Glo Comet is by far the weakest.  It can be used for night glow rounds but if there is any ambient light from streetlights its liable to drown out the glow and make the disc difficult to find. The Comet is a legend, its a shame the glow was so disappointing. I'll save a few bucks and stick to regular z plastic next time.

The comet is a great mid-range. I was in the market for a straight to understable mid-range, so I decided to try out a comet. When I first picked up the comet, I didn’t think I would like it just from feel. It is a unique feeling disc with a bead but after throwing it in the field for a few minutes I was really enjoying its flight and it became more comfortable to throw. This disc will hold any line you put it on with a tremendous amount of glide. The more this disc has beat in, the easier it is to shape shots and it just keeps getting more and more glide. It will basically just float straight to the basket.

One of the all-time great midrange discs. This is not a disc to overpower. Simply throw it flat and smooth. One of the absolute straightest, slowest, long gliding discs ever made. If you need to throw a 100-225 foot shot straight as an arrow, this may be your best choice. However, be careful. It may glide too far. It takes a little practice to control the distance it flies. The max weight Comet isn't bad in windy conditions, but it shines in calmer conditions. I have yet to see a golf disc fly so STRAIGHT. Highly recommend trying one if you haven't yet.

RHBH. Straight flyer great for 110ft. plus midrange shots.  Do not overthro and trust it to go straht if you release flat.  Nice anny disc if the wind is not an obstacle.  Favorite disc in bag to go for the pin will go where you want.

This disc will show you your flaws very quickly. If you have good form, it will respond to any shot you want it to. If you don't, it's going to punish you for it. New players need to be patient with it, if you just pick it up and rip it, it's going to disappoint you.

That said, this disc takes some time to learn, and it responds best to being treated gently. It has great glide- play to that strength and just let the disc do the distance work for you. Smooth release and you get nice turn and a gentle fade with it.  It holds the anhyzer extremely well, and it hyzerflips well too. A Comet in flight is one of the prettiest things you'll see in disc golf. It's almost like slow motion. It my favorite disc to throw.

The Comet is a disc that I have the most confidence in, when I need a good shot, the comet delivers for me.

Even if you don't bag one, keep one around. Everyone needs a form check now and again. I recommend this disc to literally everybody. The buzzz gets a ton of attention and praise, but this is discrafts best mid. Period.

    UPDATE:

The Comet is still a staple in my bag. I have thrown Z Glo, Z, and recently got an ESP. Comet. I am past the point of recommending this disc to others. Now I am pretty much saying that if you do not have one of these, you are doing DG wrong. That is how strongly I feel about this disc. The comet is magical, and that is my "fact, not opinion" opinion if that makes sense...
