Holy moly do I love this disc. My big Z flips up and glides for ages. I have gotten it to 350' on a football field, but I usually throw it on holes between 225-300. I don't think it's quite as understable as you might be led to believe, as mine does not really turn much but flips up from a slight hyzer and flies straight with a very light fade. A headwind will cause it to flip though. It is my most accurate disc. I've heard it's a love it or hate it disc, but I think everyone should try it at least for one round.

I bought one of these in Big Z (170g). It'd heard good things about the glide and ability to keep its line, and I was not disappointed. After one day on the course, parking approach after approach, this disc found a permanent place in my bag.

It's good for both forehand and backhand throws, though I really get the best out of a RHBH from about 80 to 150 feet out. Even from a standstill throw, this thing flies straight, keeps its line all the way, with the tiniest bit of fade as it touches down (usually at or almost at the aimpoint).

As a beginning player (just under a year in) it's been a good disc for learning to throw straight and anhyzer lines, particularly on wooded courses. While it's an easy disc to throw for just about anyone, I've really appreciated how this disc is helping me improve my consistency (throwing flat) and increased the options I have for different lines.

    Strong recommendation for this one.

I had a few first run comets back in the 90's, they were perfect. After they were gone all the other runs were just not the same. The Big Z plastic reminds me of the first runs, a little flatter on top and they have the same feel. Excellent disc.

If you don't like the handfeel - power through it. Trust.

I wish I could get over the hand feel. As many will tell you on Reddit, the comet is amazing. It just happens to not feel great in hand for a lot of people. So go pick one up in person before you buy and see how it feels. If it feels okay in hand get it because the flight is great. I just couldn't get over the feel and I want to feel confident about my grip with touchy shots.

This is a very big, beaded and glidey mid range. It's got an old school feel and a small rim. This disc is very slow, but is a great floaty woods disc that doesn't turn to fast, nor does it have a harsh fade. It's a little uncomfortable if you have smaller hands because of how tall it is in comparison to the rim width. If you have been wanting to try out the Kastaplast Svea, this is a great alternative.

This is a must have for all.  Especially if you play woods golf.  This will be a staple in the bag.

I think of the Comet as almost like the French Horn of disc golf.  (People who were never in band or orchestra might not understand the comparison)  The French Horn is probably the most difficult of the brass instruments to play.  It requires exceptional technique to play well, and if you've ever heard a beginner play the French Horn, well, it's not a pretty sound.  But a master of the instrument can make some of the smoothest, most beautiful tones of any instrument.

The Comet is kind of like that.  If you have any kind of technique problems, any wrist roll or off axis torque in your throw, the Comet will turn over, crash, and cut roll.  But with clean technique, you can make this disc do almost anything you want.  My technique is not perfectly clean yet, but I've got it dialed in enough now that I can throw super straight lines with a hyzer flip.  I think that even with perfect technique, the Comet will still be a slightly understable midrange.  That is to say that, even a level, medium power throw will turn a little bit before fading.

The Comet might also be the most versatile disc in the sport.  There are so many different types of shots you can throw with it.  It specializes in small hyzer flips into laser straight lines, but also excels at late turnover shots.  With some height and a severe hyzer release, it can even handle big hyzer shots.  The price of being so versatile is that the Comet is very sensitive to the angles that it's released at (which it kind of has to be since you can throw so many different types of shots with it).  So even once you get that clean form, you definitely still need to practice with the Comet to make it do what you want.  I have aspirations of making it my go to midrange, but I need to keep cleaning up my form and practicing with it in order to see that happen.  This disc feels like it would be the ultimate woods midrange.  Wherever the trees might be, you should be able to find some kind of line with a Comet that will avoid all of them.

The Comet is a large midrange with a somewhat unique feel.  It's fairly shallow and has a bead, and it's the only disc I have where I grip it and it feels big in my hand.  I know the feel of the disc is an issue for some people, and maybe especially so if you throw mainly forehand, but I've not had any problem gripping it and getting a good release.  My Comet is in Big Z plastic and has been very durable so far.  I've not thrown a Comet in other types of plastic, so I can't compare how Big Z flies compared to the others.

In summary, this is the most unique disc I've thrown.  I've not found anything else that flies quite like it.

Besides my putter, this might be the only mold that has stayed in my bag over my last 5 years in disc golf. There's just shots that only the Comet can make - it's suuuuper glidey and can hold anhyzer lines like no other.

I also think this is an excellent teaching disc for beginners because it will instantly show you whatever line you release it on.

    Comet

    Big Z plastic 173g

I've been playing DG for 4 years now and i consider myself an intermediate level player (rhbh thrower). For me this disc is very flippy when some power is put on it. This comes in handy on wooded holes with a right turn to it. If there is a downhill straight shot to make off the tee, (where less power is needed) i might even grab this one and give it a shot.

This is a very handy midrange disc for all skill levels though. As a beginner, this will probably fly straight as an arrow for you if you throw it flat. It will follow any line you put on it if you don't throw it too hard either.

The Comet is simply unique.  It flies neutral straight lines and powers down like a putter, but with the distance of a midrange.  It's the only disc I know of that has the accuracy of slower discs, without sacrificing distance.  When given some height, it will sometimes even fly further than other midranges due to its incredible glide.

For reference, I throw 170g mids in the 220-250 ft range.  I was looking for a midrange that could be thrown straight, and wouldn't turn or fade, or would hold an anhyzer even when powered down.  I didn't think such a thing existed, until I tried a Comet.

In X plastic, the Comet can be powered down and given some height and it just glides straight.  It does get tossed around in headwinds or crosswinds though.  In Big Z plastic I can really crank on it and it won't turn at all, and only fades at all if given quite a bit of height.

I even use Comets for longer approach shots where footing doesn't allow for an x-step and I need to hold a particular line.

The Comet is simply a magical disc.  I can't possibly say enough good things about this disc.  Be aware that while faster discs will mask flaws in your form, the Comet will not.  That makes it a good learning tool.

Before I go into my review, know that I am still somewhat early on in the review process. This disc successfully made it through my trial period, but I am still learning this disc.

The Comet is an extremely popular mid-range disc. Although nowhere near as popular is the mighty Buzzz, so many people that throw the Comet swear by it, and love it.

The Comet for me is a understable slow flying mid-range. It is not shaped like a Buzzz, as it has somewhat of an awkward rim to it. It feels like a very concave. Somewhat similar to the feel of a Roc, but only amplified. It definitely took me some getting used to (and still does). For me, this is not a disc I am comfortable throwing full power...yet.

The Comet is a great flying disc. It seems to juts stay in the air and keeps going. It's not a fast disc, in fact it's very slow flying. I hear some people say that they treat a Comet like a Nova, because the angle you release on is where it goes. I have to somewhat disagree, and this is why.

For me, I can get my Comet to have a beautiful hyzer-flip shot when I throw with increased power. If I see a long-narrow tunnel that is flat, or slightly fades to the right, I'm probably busting out this disc. When thrown correctly, I release with a slight hyzer, the Comet will flip up, drift ever-so slightly to the right, and land pretty much straight. It can hold such a beautiful slight anhyzer and just ride it out. I also like throwing big hyzers and letting it flip up just a tad to get some longer distance.

For the new person, this is going to be a good disc for them. It's goign to be pretty forgiving, and with all the glide this disc has to offer, they are going to get some distance out of it.  For the intermediate to advanced player looking for a mid-range that will hold a slight anhyzer and ride it out the entire way, check this disc out.

The Comet rewards a smooth and pure thrower, and it's defintely a disc I think will find a permanent home in many bags.

I always have a comet in my bag and it gets thrown on every round I play.  This disc is very neutral and will fly on the angel you release it on.  I love the control I can get on the comet and the lines I can throw with it. The comet will make you throw with clean form or else the disc will let you know.  The comet has good glide and can get some nice distance. Very fun disc to throw would recommend it to anyone.

Very nice neutral disc that you don't have to have great power to throw very well.

You can put it on a wide variety of lines and it goes a long way. I've thrown them on hyzerflips that have gone in the 350-370 range and you can lean into it a bit in the Z plastic.

I personally don't' bag it because it feels odd and very large in the hand for me, but that dosen't seem to deter almost anyone else from throwing it.

Watch out for wind with this one though, it can get blown off course easily.
