The FD is truly one of the great straight-flying fairway drivers. This disc is perfect for straight line shots through low ceiling tree lines. As an accurate, smooth flying disc, the FD is a winner for beginners and pros. While the FD isn’t the fastest flying fairway driver, it does offer excellent glide, allowing it to rival your furthest flying distance drivers.

The Discmania made and Innova made FDs feel and fly similar, if not identical. When adding a review, feel free to comment your opinions on how they differ!

This is a very torque resistant disc that holds up in a headwind and goes dead straight with a little fade. Perfect for people getting past the 7 arm speed and need a less flippy straight driver.

S-line plastic is the best discmania has currently.  The FD, is just a great disc for beginner's and above as it is very workable and will teach you your mistakes.

Fantastic on a backhand anhyzer where it'll hold the line with a little straight finish (if given the airspace).  But also nice on a hyzer to flip up and glide straight before that little fade kicks in.

My first ace disc. Mine was a little domey, so it was a bit understable, but it was still super glidey and super nice to throw. Great for mini hyzer flips and very minimally turning shots. C-line is a lot more stable than S-line, so keep that in mind

The FD is one of the farthest flying discs I have, and it's a 7 speed. The glide is unreal, a perfect amount of turn for maximum distance and shot shaping and the amazing s line plastic combine to make the ultimate fairway driver.

S-Line had a little turn and a dependable stern fade with a ton of glide.

This disc has a lot of hype, and I feel it lives up to it. I have the Innova made FD, and it will turn a little when thrown flat, but always has it's reliable fade. It's very comfortable in the hand, and goes surprisingly far for a 7 speed. I don't throw any discmania discs except for this one.

For reference, I can throw it 270-300 ft or so. Highly recommended as a neutral/stable fairway driver for most skill levels.

this is my favorite disc that i can use for everything for rollers to tunnel shots.  it has great glide and i can use it for tail wind shots or even soft turn overs.  i live in Utah so the flippiness of the disc could be different from where you live though.

The FD is a workhorse disc in my bag. While I use this primarily for backhand fairway drives between 150-225 feet, it is versatile to be used for any shot (backhand, forehand, thumber, tomahawk) on any release angle. Bigger arms could make this fly almost as far as a distance driver. I love how predictable this disc is. For the most part, it will show me exactly how I released it, but it won't be brutally honest. I've almost never fully turned this disc over (unless I really tried to) as it has a reliable fading finish. The S line holds is flight characteristics longer than C Line in my experience, but I will occasionally bag both for the versatility.

My S Line is somewhat flat which makes it comfortable for me, but I have a couple domey color glow c lines that fly very similarly. If i had a desert island bag (sure hope they have disc golf there) this would be one of the first discs to go in. Very beginner friendly, too. Functions like a much longer buzzz for me, but feels much more comfortable (slightly shallower) than a buzz in the hand. Also has good glide but won't fly away on you, easy to keep it flat and low when needed; I have trouble keeping my Instinct as low as this as that disc tends to glide up on me and crash into a low ceiling.

this disc out of the box will be really staight with a little fade. It has a ton of glide I can get it out around 340. It is a great disc for newer players because of how much glide and how straight it is. It holds any line u put it on. It has a really good feel in my hand not being too deep and being more rounded on the rim. I also have this disc in d line plastic for rollers it works really well is really straight and the more it beats in the faster it will stand up for you.

The FD by Discmania is a very straight flying, point and shoot type disc for me. I have an average to above average arm and this disc stays on the line I put it on in most situations. I know if i throw a smooth shot with a slight hyzer,  it will fly straight on that line with a slight fade. As it gets beat in, it will flip up and turn ever so slightly, still with the slight fade at the end. All in all the FD is a reliable fairway driver that will help with those longer approaches that need a soft finish.

I have an S-line FD at 172g. I love this disc! The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is because it's a bit more overstable than I was expecting, I haven't gotten it to hold a dead straight line with a forward fade yet. It'll go straight in flight but it dumps out at the end. I'm hoping the overstability will go away more as it beats in. Otherwise, this disc is great. The glide really extends the distance you can get out of it and this disc is super comfortable both forehand and backhand (which is something I was looking for). I've found that the shot type is use this for most is for holding medium-distance hyzer lines for a full flight, but I do use it on straighter/fairway distance shots too for forehand. I would definitely recommend this disc, super comfortable for all types of throws and gives a predictable flight once you get to know it. S-line plastic is comfortable and provides good grip.

    S-line FD-

This disc absolutely shines on wooded courses with tighter fairways. It's small amount of turn and high glide are perfect for straight, penetrating shots and perfectly formed flex lines. It also takes power well and can get pretty great distance for a 7 speed when thrown on hyzer and allowed to turn out. I use this as a flippier and straighter complement to my Teebird and Eagle.

flight numbers are spot on to me. I got my disc in a weight probably too heavy, 175g. I would definitely recommend to not get max weight for most players. 171-172 is likely the better weight for move beginner/average players.

I much prefer this to the c-line glow which feels way more overstable to me in the same weight. only get the cline glow for one of 2 reason: 1) you want the glow version, or 2) you wanna support nate perkins with his signature edition night strike

This disc is the best fairway for a beginner and all the way to professional players! It is nice and slow, so it is very controllable and comfortable in anyones hand. It is a very straight and high glide disc that will fly at any angle you throw it at. As your skill level increases this disc will be the ultimate hyzer-flip or turn over fairway. I love it and the lines it can create are endless. This is a must have in the Discmania line up!

I got my first FD in a mystery box and it quickly became my favorite new disc. The mystery box FD was only 150g which is way lighter than what I normally go for, but the super light disc with the insane glide makes for some awesome tunnel shots and tight corridor shots, as it finishes very straight.

I got another FD in 170 to complement the super light one. This one flies similarly, but definitely has a bit of fade on the finish, which I like.

One thing I love about the FD is the rim. It's somewhat deep, but the shape of the wing just feels so great for my backhand power grip. It doesn't really concave on the underwing, which is probably why I like the grip so much, and it makes for some very skippy finishes.

I love the FD! One of my favorites in the bag!

I mainly throw teebirds and TLs for my fairway drivers but was looking for a good turn over disc.  I have had a FD in the past but never really threw it.  It wasn't until I was working on my form that I started to realize the place in my bag for this disc.  It's a versatile disc that you can hyzer flip to flat or throw flat to turn.  In the woods this is a life saver for S shaped holes.  For a beginner this would be a fantastic beginner disc.

Such an awesome disc! what you see on the flight numbers is exactly what you get. if you pull this straight, you should get a little turn, then a laser beam for 200 ft. then a predictable soft finish to the left. you can definitly turn this disc over if thrown with full power or on an anny, but thats not really what its for. if you play on a course with a lot of tunnel shots, this disc HAS TO BE IN YOUR BAG!

What can I say that hasn't already been said. This disc is simply one of the best fairway drivers ever made. Perfect amount of turn and stability for accurate shots, while also capable of huge distance from the glide. I love this disc!! If you need a fairway driver, you cannot go wrong with an FD. I went with star plastic so I could get a little more turn out of it than the champion plastic. But I will be adding a champ plastic pretty soon for the extra stability to compliment the star one. A beat-in Teebird with more glide is great way to explain it...

The S-line FD is the single greatest fairway driver ever made. This disc belongs in every player’s bag, and if you've never thrown one then you are missing out.  The FD is the disc that every new player wants when they start out playing disc golf, a disc that goes straight. Not only does the disc go perfectly straight, but it also has a ton of glide to help gain that extra distance that new players want so badly. The best part about the FD is that it is not just made for newbies; it is also a disc that belongs in every experienced player’s bag. The FD is perfect for 300' straight shots right off the shelf, and when it begins to break in, it is then perfect for hyzerflips down a tight tunnel or for a slight turn over with reliable fade at the end of its flight.  The problem that I have with the FD is that I didn't find it until two years into playing. I currently carry two in my bag, and I strongly believe that everyone should have at least one in theirs.

What is there to say about FD's that hasn't been said hundreds of times? One of the best molds ever created!

I currently bag 3, but I've thrown just about every plastic they've been made in. (I've yet to get my hands on one of them precious 2nd runs, though.)

Nate Perkins Night Strike (First year). This is my "stable" FD. Thrown flat into anything other than a headwind, it finishes pretty much dead straight. I can throw longish turnovers with it that will flex back just enough to land flat. I can throw long slow hyzers with it. It'll pretty much hold whatever line I give it.

Early super fingerprinty S-Line - This one stable to slightly understable when thrown flat. It will hold a long, slight hyzer in a tail wind, it's one of the best hyzerflip to flat discs I've ever thrown. Most of my courses are wooded, with some long straight and even L-R fairways, so it sees a lot of play.

Super beat D-Line. This is a utility disc. It's EXTREMELY beat and EXTREMELY understable. I use it for backhand rollers that I need to stand up right away. I can throw high, sharp sky rollers with it, and even throw it on a hyzer and have it flip up and over to a roller. Aside from rollers, it's a huge get out of jail free card for me, especially with grenades. If I put enough snap on it, it'll go up, flip beyond vertical, and actually come float down and away on an anhyzer angle, landing flat.

    I also love Luster FDs.

Straight flying and tons of glide.  It's 100% true to the numbers up to about 300ft.  If you are trying to rip 350+ I feel it's got more of a -2 turn.  Doesn't take much to get this baby where it needs to go!

Love it for shots that require accuracy over power and long slow anhyzers with almost no fade.

One of the straightest discs that I have ever thrown. It has a really consistent turn without flipping out of control. Reasons I'm not a big fan of this disc are I feel that it glides too much to control distance since it doesn't really hyzer out at the end of the flight. I'm also not a fan of how this disc feels in the hand. Can't really say why, but I think I'm one of very few people who feel that way. It gave me great distance when i was new to the game, but now I favor a leopard3 as my straight to understable fairway.

Zip, Zap, BOOM. I got a ridiculously light 150g S Line FD. This disc goes and goes, glides for days (glide 6).  Don't let the 7 speed fool you. This disc is capable of many shots / lines and is very utilitarian. This disc deserves a spot in your bag, in different plastics and weights. It's dynamic and more forgiving than your girlfriend.

Kind of the ideal fairway driver. Super neutral, so needs to be thrown properly or will really slow the flaw in your form. Glides for days for sneaky distance. G-line is flippy, S-line is dead straight, C-line has a bit of stability. I keep a S-line in my bag so for tunnel shots, straight, long standstill/ mid-range shots.

The fd is one of my not thrown discs. I bag a c line and s line

S line flips over easily and if I throw it a bit harder it won’t come back at the end

C line will come back for me at the end of its flight

Fd is a disc that will show you the flaws in your throw. It does what you make it do. My girlfriends first driver was a g line fd

The Discmania FD is the very first fairway driver a person moving up from midranges should pick up. The neutral flight combined with an obscene amount of glide give this disc a very high amount of distance while still remaining easy to control and manipulate with angles and power. I would highly recommend this disc to anyone of all skill levels.

Accurate to it's flight numbers and reliable as everyone says. The S-Line FD is one of my favorite discs to throw. On a slight hyzer flip it stands up and has a slight turn and will fade back. Thrown flat this disc will turn over pretty quick into a roller with enough arm speed. The weight I throw is 175. I imagine throwing lighter ones will impact the turnover rate depending on hard you throw.

A great fairway driver for the wooded courses. Not particularly a fighter of headwinds. I would recommend this disc for beginners and advanced players. Flies like a teebird that turns more and has less fade.

The S-Line plastic is very durable and can take a beating. I can tell you from experience. I hit plenty of trees with it and it still flies the same!!

The FD is a fantastic control disc. I have the s-line in my bag currently, and after throwing one I now have a luster FD on the way, and they're both great for accuracy There's a reason this is one of Simon Llizotte's favorite discs, and after throwing it I can see why. You can throw it on a hyzer, straight shot, flex it, probably make dinner with it, and it will perform every time unless there's a big headwind. The s-line is a really good disc to learn how to hyzer flip, and the more power you give it the more you can figure out how to work the angles with it for some really cool shots. The C-Line and Luster molds of this disc are a bit more stable, and they are a great complement to a teebird. The D-line FD is more understable, and as we all know by Eagle raving about it, is a great roller disc. I've been wanting to beat in a teebird for a while now, and I just haven't managed to get them to fly like the FD does.

The Discmania FD is a great disc for a beginner who has athletic experience going into disc golf. The FD is the straightest flying disc out of the box for just about anyone. The FD flys true to its numbers with slow turn and minimal fade. I throw S-Line FD's because of the grippy and durable plastic. The FD is one of the best fairway drivers in my opinion.

I found 4 of these in the used bin at the local Disc Golf Store in almost new condition.  I had heard good things.  I bought two C-Line and two S-Line.  One each for my son and myself.  Mine are both 175.  They are what I was hoping the River would be.  Don't get me wrong, I love the River, but it has gotten a tad flippy.  The FD will go straight and not turn over.  I can even flick them on a laser.  I've used them on multiple occasions for my long distance driver because I feel so comfortable with them and can count on them not to flip.  If I get a little air under them I can count on them to finish with a forward finish to the left (RHBH).

These will handle the power of a 400 foot throw without turning over.

This is probably my favorite disc in my bag. I love how skinny the rim is, and I LOVE the glide that these things offer. If you need a driver for tunnel shots, this is 100% what you're looking for. S-Line beats in really nicely, so it's always good to have 2 or 3 in the bag in different stages of wear. Don't be surprised if you throw the FD close to the same distance as your distance drivers, it really gets out there!

This disc goes really far for a speed 7. The S-Line feels comfortable in my hand. I typically can't throw a forehand accurately at 300+ ft so this is my go to for turn over shots that are 300+ ft. I throw it backhand and release it flat with a little bit of air and a lot of torque and it will go long and have a nice slow turn to it. For beginners with slower arm speeds this disc is a perfect fairway driver. It will hold straight to hyzer for beginners.

Although the S-Line FD doesn't make it into my bag, I still give it a 5 star review because of how nice this disc flies. It is a very dependablle turnover disc, offering a different feel and a similar flight than a star Leopard.

This disc has a lot of Glide, and performs decent in slightly windy conditions. I wouldn't recommend it with a daunting headwind, but I know for sure this disc is awesome in a tailwind. Broken in ones can be great roller discs as well.

The S-FD is dependable, with a good amount of turn to them. If the C-FD was a little too much, the S-FD could be a great option.

S line 175. For me I have not had a good relationship with this disc. I want to throw it like my Lat 64 Maul and have it be able to control a power arm and it doesnt at all. Every time I throw it, it will just go hard right unless I throw it like I am teeing off with my putter. How ever my buddy who does not throw with a lot of power but more of a control freak on angles and aim can throw this on a dime because a 7 speed is perfect for him. His main driver is a Saint and a Fury from Lat 64, if that helps at all. I would recommend this to a beginner who is looking on being great with one disc before moving to more advanced disc. For slower arms, it does exactly what the numbers say.

With an anyhzer put on this disc it glides like a dream and has never dissapointed me that it wouldnt come back.  Amazing for short turnover shots and exceptional for thru shots with maximum glide usually use this around 270ft and less then 300ft
