The FD is truly one of the great straight-flying fairway drivers. This disc is perfect for straight line shots through low ceiling tree lines. As an accurate, smooth flying disc, the FD is a winner for beginners and pros. While the FD isn’t the fastest flying fairway driver, it does offer excellent glide, allowing it to rival your furthest flying distance drivers.

The Discmania made and Innova made FDs feel and fly similar, if not identical. When adding a review, feel free to comment your opinions on how they differ!

This disc is a great disc for any player level.  It could be a great first Driver for a new player, or it could be an excellent straight shooter for an intermediate player, and even an excellent utility disc for the advanced players.  Just look at Eagle McMahon, as he bags one of these FD beauties.  I currently own the G-line version, which has superb grip (me likey) and a little more flexibility than most plastics, which may add to it being slightly less stable than the stiffer plastics.  However, the durability is right up there with the top plastics.  This thing can take a beating, and still come out clean with its flight still intact.  If you are looking to Reinvent you game then make sure to pick up an FD and let it get you to the next level!

If you really want to see the 6 glide of an FD, get a g-line. I've been throwing a 175 as my go-to for about 6 months. Mine has a good amount of dome and a bit of pop-top surprisingly. Some runs are flat, some are domey, all are great. Out of the box the g-line FD disc flew exactly true to it's numbers for me, while s and c-line start more stable. Easily the furthest flying version of the FD. With use this disc will lose stability and become a predictably perfect slow turnover disc. When thrown flat it slowly turns and won't fight it out unless you give it some air time. When thrown on a slight hyzer it predictably flips to flat and flies straight. When thrown anhyzer this disc just keeps going. A really fun disc to throw. I am not usually a fan of max weight, but in g-line I recommend it for a touch of added stability. At 165 I'd imagine this disc would turn and burn more for me. For beginners, I'd recommend a pro or gstar leopard(3) over the FD, but once you've mastered the leopard the g-line FD is the next step up.

I got a 171g G-line FD.  I throw about 300 ft max during a round of disc golf.  It goes very straight for me, has very good glide and very little fade.  Nice disc.  Into a head wiind, however, it turns over a little more that I want.  It looks like a good anhyzer disc, to hold the turn for a long time.  It reminds me of a Discraft XL that I had a long time ago and liked
    very much.

Probably a TeeBird would be better for me, but I'm keeping the FD in my bag for now because it goes straighter than the TeeBird that I lost. .

Picked up some G-Line FD's recently. Normally, I'm not much of a fan of G-Line or GStar plastics (except in the winter). But these immediately became my go-to roller discs. They also make really great tunnel shot discs. With very minimal effort you can get these to flip right up and ride straight for days.

Had one of these a couple of yrs ago but lost it in some trees. Always meant to replace it cause I really liked it, and finally did a few days ago. Well I shouldn't have waited so long. I forgot just what a great disc this is. Not only does it go super far but where it really excels is controllability. Super straight flyer. Straighter than any disc I've tried before even my trusted stalker. Holds whatever line I put it on. This disc is one of those very very few discs that I will never be without again. If you need a great controllable fairway disc that can go straight as an arrow for a really long ways this is your disc. I can't imagine any disc could do a better job at what this disc does. Also I got this G line plastic 175 grams love this plastic, super grippy. Even grippier than opto or gold, imo. Get yourself an fd or jackal as it was formally known as. I don't think you'll  ever regret it.

I'm really surprised more people don't throw this disc considering it does EXACTLY what the numbers say it will when thrown level. On wide open holes you can start it out straight at the hole and it will turn only slightly and then come back just as much. If you want to release it on a hyzer it will flip up and glide straight and then fade out. I also will use this for tunnel shots both releasing level or on a hyzer and it does a great job staying on line and with the distance you need. This is a very interesting disc because both the 7 speed and the 6 glide are very accurate which means this disc is not only easy to throw, but can carry a long ways. It will give you a subtle "S" curve, but doesn't break hard either way. The G line plastic is really nice. It controls bounces off trees so you don't kick very far, it doesn't break in extremely fast so it holds the flight characteristics for a while and it controls skips so the disc ends up in the general vicinity of where it lands. This is one disc I will recommend to lots of people because it's wonderful and very few people throw it.
