I can't speak to newer iterations of this basket, but I have loved mine since 2006 or 2007. My friends and family talked smack at first, like at the time, "How could you spend so much on a disc golf item?" Little did they know about the black hole of spending I would then do on DG up to this moment in time! Thanks Infinite! Lol. Anyhow, I only use this basket for playing PIG/HORSE while camping. It only gets used during summer and has never sat out in any rain or beating sunlight. My basket is frayed in spots, but the integrity is still there. I have even thought of removing the basket and having someone sew it together, where it has come apart at the seam. The game of PIG has really brought friends and family together with this basket and has increased the love and appreciation for DG, for all!

Good at first, but quickly wore in. I was impressed after setting up the basket for the first few times. After about 3 months of putting practice and bringing it out for field work, the button that locks the bottom of the basket into the base is jammed and won't click into the base. Now the top will kind of spin on the base whenever hit, even with the upper pin inserted and everything else set up correctly. This also causes the top component to wobble off-axis a bit, resulting in a crooked lower basket in comparison to the top cloth rim. Also, the top cloth rim tears at the corners where it covers the chains. The top flag also comes off too easily.

Other than those flaws, the basket has nice chains, weight, and setup/teardown. I just wish the base had a better system than the button click thing (like another full pin that goes all the way through like the one just under the bottom basket) and that the top cloth part was reinforced, because it seems to be the most prone to wear.

There are good and bad things about this basket, which are, for the most part, what you would expect. The chains feel a good deal like a course basket, setup is pretty easy, and it breaks down to a reasonable size. On the other side, you have to put it on flat ground, the lower cage will often grab the disk and pull it in, whereas in a regular basket it would deflect. Again, nothing surprising, really.

I do have some quality concerns, however; the loops that hold the fabric to the cage seem flimsy, and one of mine has frayed within the first couple weeks. It doesn't appear that this is replaceable, so I'm going to have to fix that before it gets worse. In addition, the pin that secures the basket when open has, on occasion, come out if a disc hits it. This is despite the locking feature which should prevent this, making it very easy to lose if you don't notice.

I've tried a few portable baskets in my fifteen years of playing (but never owned one myself) and have never found one that i've found everything i wanted in a portable basket. In all honesty, this isn't everything i want in a portable basket; the chains spit-out alot, even on strong side as compared with a permanent Mach-style basket. The base could be more adaptable to uneven surfaces. The flag has flown off more than once (a quick fix with some gaffers' tape). All said, this has gotten the closest to the perfect portable basket yet.

It's relatively lightweight and in it's case is very easy to take from place to place. It's PDGA basic-approved, which is... good enough. The construction is sturdy and seems like it'll hold up to lots of use as long as i take care of it.

Of course, i've only had about a week of using under my belt so i'm gonna have to come back and update this but so far so good!

The DGS Mach Lite was a little difficult to set up the first time because the chains got locked up a bit. Had that not have happened, set up would have been super easy. Chains are a little on the lighter side but, it is a portable basket so I wouldn't expect standard chains. Other than that I recommend this portal basket to everyone. Super durable, extremely portable and perfect for any occasion.

I never leave home without mine (I got the orange for visibility), and use it at least 4-5 times a week. The basket is great for working on driving accuracy, putting and mid range.

    Delivery was extremely fast!

This thing is awesome!  Just received the other day.  Easy to set up and take down.  Looks super cool.  Great chain sound too!  If you are looking for a portable basket, you should check out the DGA Mach Lite.

This disc catcher is amazing! Truly an incredible design, it is what makes this disc catcher such a good one. I love how it collapses and is put up, very intuitive and easy. Also another plus is that it is PDGA approved; as such, it will help you prepare for those tournaments without having to go to a course.

The chains are a little light, but for good reason. If they were heavy this basket would be ridiculously heavy and no longer be good for a portable basket. It is already fairly heavy, but it is manageable. Where these are light chains every now and then I have chained out, because my disc has flown, horizontal with the ground, through the chains. However, this doesn't happen all that much.

Overall a wonderful basket. It's at a great price, which is wonderful. It seems to be quite durable. Excellent for the taking it places as well. I love the basket!

I really enjoy using this basket. I keep mine open in my yard, so not really sure about how well it travels. My biggest complaint is that the metal that is exposed in the basket has taken several chunks out of my putters. I put some tape on the exposed metal and has that has reduced the amount of damage done to my disc. I do recommend putting some foam on the legs as they can also do some damage. I haven't had any disc go through the chains and I am very happy overall, just wish the metal was filled down or covered in a rubber to protect the disc.

There is no better collapsible basket on the market.  This thing sets up in under a minute for me.  I leave it in my car and set it up every time I go out and have field practice. This is the most realistically sized and shaped basket for putting practice.  It is built extremely well and I have no issues with it to date.

I used to use it at home for putting practice, but purchased a MACH II to permanently leave outside now.  This basket does reward flatter puts, as steep hyzer lines do lead to some spit outs.  I look at this as a positive.  I know i real life, that chances of that spit out staying in the chains are high, but it also helped me keep my putting lines more consistent and flat, which translated into more consistent round scores.

If you are looking for a good price, and a great basket, look no further.

Why have you not purchased this basket yet?!?

I was attempting to purchase another portable basket but it ended up being out of stock, so InfiniteDiscs.com convinced me that this was the basket to purchase.  It was similar in price so I went with it, but with skepticism.

After using this basket for months, it is safe to say that InfiniteDiscs.com was absolutely right about this basket because it far exceeds its competition.  I have played with several other portable baskets and the DGA Mach Lite is by far the best option.

Extremely simple to setup (really its just pulling it out of the bag, snapping in the foot assembly, and popping open the two sections) and comes with a perfect carrying case.

As soon as you set up the DGA Mach Lite you begin to appreciate its clever design. It is a collapsible, portable basket that sets up or collapses in less than a minute. The basket and the top are made of durable fabric. The base comes apart from the basket and both pieces fit inside a carrying bag. When you start putting on the Mach Lite, you begin to appreciate its performance. Portable baskets are perfect for when you want to practice, but don’t want to haul a bigger basket around. It grabs a disc quite well, but takes up a lot less space in transit. No tools are necessary for the Mach Lite.

Pros: Excellent portability, grabby, quality basket, easy to set up/ take down.
Cons: Fabric basket doesn’t perform like metal,

Overall assessment: I have had a Mach Lite for a long time and I really like it. For a basket that is relatively inexpensive and very portable, it holds a disc quite well. You will certainly have putts that will chain out, bounce off the pole, or crawl over the edge of the basket more often a professional basket. But, that’s not a big deal. The Mach Lite catches most of what you throw at it. It would be a great first or second practice basket. If you won’t be moving the basket and don’t need the portability, you might consider a different model. If you want one for taking to the park, league, club tournament, vacation, or a buddy’s house, the Mach Lite is one to seriously consider.

11/12/2019 Long Term Update: I wrote the initial review four years ago, and the basket is still going strong. The fabric is still in good shape and I still putt with it. The only issue that has arisen is that the legs on the base don't stay in the 'open' position when setting it up. They used to unfold and hold the position so I could swing the basket onto it's base. Now, they want to collapse when I turn the basket right side up. I could come up with a solution, if it were a big deal. But, it isn't. I still recommend this basket!

The Mach Lite has my vote for the best "portable" basket around. It is super light weight and sets up faster than you can say "Bobs your uncle". The chains were lighter than some of the other baskets that fill a similar niche such as the Mach 14, but the arrangement of the chains seemed to negate this fact. The chains performed just like most of the heavy duty baskets for most putts within 10 meters. I was actually quite shocked at how true the basket performed under repeated putting practice. It didnt feel at all like a portable basket you could potentially put on your back and ride a bike with. The best part is, when all your putting practice is done, you will already be home by the time others are still getting the chains off.

The DGA Mach Lite is an amazing basket at a fantastic price. If I were looking for the perfect balance of quality and easy transportation, this would be the basket. It doesn't require any tools to assemble/disassemble. The basket folds into itself and slips into a super handy carrying case, the base detaches, folds up, and fits in a small pocket on the side of the case.

This is a lighter basket, but it catches discs super well. Out of all of the lighter baskets I have used, it catches the best, even outperforming several "heavy"baskets. I thought the cloth would bother me at first, but it works fantastically and makes the basket so much lighter; the weight is in the chains where it matters. After hundreds of putts on this basket, I did not experience any bad spit-outs, it even caught putts I thought had no chance.

I believe this is the perfect first basket for someone who wants it all; functionality, quality, portability, and pure awesomeness. I like the idea of having three baskets. One heavy stationary "backyard" basket, a quality portable one, and a smaller diameter accuracy basket. This would be my #1 choice for the quality portable slot. Because of everything it offers, at its competitive price, I think this is one of the top baskets for first-time buyers and would also make an excellent addition to any existing basket owners' collections.

Our local league sets up temporary courses every week that include a variety of different portable baskets (Innova Travelers, M14, home made, crappy Costco baskets, Pacific Outdoors, etc.) Of the ultra portable baskets, the Mach Lite is by far the best of them. It looks good, and reacts more like a permanent basket than any of the other portable baskets. When it comes to premium portable baskets, this is the best.

Now you could pay more for a portable version of the Mach 5 or something, and that will make a better actual basket, but for a basket that is easy to move, pack up, and store, you can’t beat this one.
