I wish this basket was like the Pro HD with a better cage. I know that is what the extra $20 goes towards, but it is its only flaw. Great practice basket otherwise. Nice heavy changes, great weight, and if you get the carry bag - easy to transport.

An unfortunate level of quality - this basket has rusted through most of the welds and many of the points between the basket and the pole have come loose.  The cage is coming apart at the weld points as well, and I have kept this basket indoors when not in use.  With only one year of practice I was expecting slightly better than falling apart at the seams.

As for discs, this basket chews through them like there's no tomorrow.  Even with KC pro discs (the toughest "putter" plastic I personally have found), they are no match for the chains on this basket.  Not sure if the chains themselves are low quality, but even a dead-center gentle putt can cause your discs to get a serious chunk taken out of them.

    Special Features:

This basket has a cool feature where even if you hit dead center chains, it will bounce back out instead of catching.

Another fun one is the bottom of the basket bounce-out.  Unlike many other baskets, this one features a slanted cage, so it is more likely to bounce your discs out when you least expect it.

I have 3 of these. 2 I bought, 1 was a gift. It's not my favorite basket, but it is very high quality compared to any knock-off brands. It seems to be the exact same as the Axiom pro HD, which is the first basket I owned. The main thing I don't like about these targets is how the basket is tapered (wide on top at opening, then narrower/smaller at the bottom/base). It has good quality chains. I've kept mine outside on my flood-prone farm, and they've lasted for a year so far. I would purchase a Blackhole again, (if the chainstar lite wasn't available).

When I first got this basket i noticed that the middle ring on the basket part wasn't fully welded all around the basket. After a year and a half the ring snapped off. I did use this basket alot. It was getting used atleast three times a week during the summer months. That being said the price I paid for it I knew it wouldn't last forever. Its definitely worth its price its super lite weight. Its way easy to put together you don't need any tools. You can put it together in just a few minutes. Its a great basket for a first basket. Make sure to check the welds if you do buy one so it can last you longer then mine did.

I absolutely love my black hole pro!!! It has helped me make tremendous improvements in my putting. Definitely worth the money, easy assembly, very comparable to the baskets on many of the courses I play.

The Black Hole Pro by MVP is a great basket to practice putting on. It doesn't have any problems with spitting out discs, although it does happen every once in a while. It's not the greatest option if you want to bring it with you wherever you go, weighing at 35 pounds, but it still can be transported. If you want something that catches almost as well but you'll be moving it a lot, the Black Hole Lite is a great option. If you want something to practice putting on and still be able to transport it, this basket is a great option.

Best Bang for your buck for an at-home practice basket.

MVP makes the distinction that if you want to leave a basket outside indefinitely, chose one of their course spec'd baskets for corrosion and durability.  I've had my Black Hole Pro basket for 3 years, most of which have been spent outside and I have to say - MVP is underselling their materials & paint quality.  The threads on the rods have not rusted and came right apart recently without any issues.  The basket, base, and top chain assembly are all flawless.  There's a *touch* of rust at the ends of the poles, I'd recommend spraying them with some fluid film or other long term rust resistant lubricant when you put it together the first time and you'll probably avoid this as well (I didn't initially).

Now, performance:  This thing catches as well or better than most course baskets you see on local courses (Mach II /Mach III are most common by me).  Chain/Spit outs really don't happen when I practice in my back yard - I have a few pole/center chains throw backs, but mostly because I was just putting too hard.  Overall, it catches as well as you'd expect a full fledged course basket to do at half or less the price.  I also feel that this basket feels very planted when you hit the top band, it doesn't move like you'd expect a temp base basket to.  It's worth noting I have a pitch/spin hybrid put so I usually hit the band with some decent force.  I have ZERO complaints about it as a realistic practice basket.

Negatives?  It's not a course basket, but price point completely nullifies that as a complaint in my eyes.  It's perhaps a bit heavy to lug around (but it's quality, so you gotta expect that).  If you want something to throw in the car quickly and set up many places and you're not too keen on the weight, something of a different design might be more useful to you, but disassembly is really easy and it can be broken down to something that fits easily in the trunk of a small sedan, so it's definitely still portable.  Realistically, I don't think there are any true negatives about it, just some compromises because of it's build quality and price point that are very understandable.

I love my black hole Pro, and I'd buy it again 10/10 times (although maybe I'd go for the HD V2 this next time) but I don't need to as mine is still solid and I expect it will be for many years to come.  Great basket that would make anyone happy to use in the back yard.

I absolutely love this basket, I shopped around for a while looking at the construction and appearance of other baskets and to be honest some others just look cheaply made. I’ve looked at baskets in backyards and some turn to rust.

I’ve had this Basket for a while now and it’s been outside the entire time because it gets used a lot. It can handle the abuse and the conditions I put it through. In fact, I’ve played at nearly 30 different courses in the past few years and this MVP BLACK HOLE PRO is a better and more professional basket than some courses have.

If you want to take your game to a pro level then you need to practice with a MVP BLACK HOLE PRO

Shipped quickly got it within 3 days from my order I believe.

Tis a very nice and seemingly sturdy basket I am using for practicing at home and it is working great. My accuracy has definitely improved even during the small time I have had the basket. The sounds of the chains when they hit are extremely satisfying and feel like the baskets at the course I mainly shoot at.

It has already survived three days of flood level rain and seems unscathed which is great that it can survive some temperamental weather of the ole Midwest.

The one issue I have with it is that the top portion holding all the chains the middle hole in which the top cap and post are suppose to connect to is soldered/welded quite a decent bit off center so I can't screw it in completely. the top cap is quite diagonal. It holds it decently but a hard chain hit or hitting the top it wobbles all over the place, and I can spin it. A little lame but oh well just for home practice not for anything special.

This is the basket that I have for my practice basket at home. It is very portable but also very strong at the same time. I really like that it has heavy chains that mimic the course baskets. It is very hard to get a cut through but you still have to hit the chains to get the disc to settle in the basket.

Maple Valley Plastics are known for their quality, and this basket doesn't disappoint.

This is my first practice basket and I love it.
The assembly is straight forward and only takes one minute to set up.

This basket seems to be right in the middle of its weight class. Most of the weight is in the chains which is good for two reasons:

    A. You'll get less bounce out from the full weight chains.

    B. The center of gravity is enough for the basket to be held up without stakes. (Although they are provided).

I bought the pro basket for the band around the top because I wanted to place some stickers all the way around the top. Although the band is a bit slim and my idea still hasn't come to fruition. I really enjoy this basket and I highly recommend it.

Shipping from M.V.P. took about a week and a half.
