The fourth putter in the Prodigy line is described as “the straightest flying” prodigy putter. The PA3 is a beaded putter, meaning there is a small bump around the edge of the bottom rim. Many disc golfers find putters with beaded rims to provide a more comfortable grip.

My Putting Putter of choice! I felt and tossed about a dozen putters before landing on a base plastic version of the PA-3. I love the bead and the tacky almost rubbery feel of the 200 plastic. After beating the heck out of that putter already, I decided to grabbed the 300 plastic version of the PA-3. I was looking for the same feel as the 200 but with a bit more duribility and the 300 is exactly that! Highly recommend this disc.

The PA-3 is one of Prodigy's most popular discs, and for good reason. Its straight-to-stable flight and great glide makes it a wonderful throwing putter for all kinds of shapes. I find it excels as my primary putting putter, gliding easily to the pin without too much glide that risks a long comback putt.

If you like beaded, slightly overstable putters, you need a PA-3!

*NOTE* I only give 5-stars out to discs that I bag and throw actively. A 4-star disc is great and may come in and out of the bag for me and I can see another player actively bagging it.

For over a year I've been putting with the Doomsday Discs Bleak and I wrote a review on them after a couple of months of use. I found a lot of consistency with the disc and enjoyed the effortless glide and the ease of use that it brought to me. However, as I continued to improve my putting form and developed into more of a spin putter the glidey Bleak would sometimes get away from me.

Some of my buddies noticed this and they have been trying to get me to try the PA-3 as it's their putting putter. Finally, after months of bullying, I recently accepted a pair of old PA-3s in the 300 plastic. That was a mistake on their part as my putting has become deadlier than ever. The PA-3 lends itself to my super spinny and hard putts. It's just glidey enough so I don't feel like I'm throwing it, but not quite glidey enough that it loses control and sails past the basket 30ft. Excellent putting putter and I am so glad I gave in.

This review will cover the putting aspects of the PA-3.

I recently switched to the PA-3 as my putting putter. Previous putter was the MVP Nomad. One thing I was finding before was that the Nomads, while they have great glide, this tended to be more of a hindrance. They'd glide well past the basket if I missed and if I happened to hit the chains funky and fall out, they'd roll off into oblivion. In comes the PA-3. I ABSOLUTELY love them for putting. I spin putt and they just go straight then dive left at the very end of the flight. This is within circle and further out. They have enough glide to get you there, but enough integrity to always fade at the end. The PA-3, if it does roll, will not roll far at all! That part is huge for me. I have never been a huge fan of beaded putters until now. The PA-3's is noticeable, but actually quite comfortable. 300 plastic is nice and grippy, but not too grippy to where it will stick. I tested a very used PA-3 against a new one and they both still fly pretty much the same. The ONE thing I have to mention though is that if you are putting with these, you HAVE TO commit. If you don't, they won't make it to the basket. I actually love that about the PA-3. It has no problem letting me know if I am not committing to my putt and noodle arming it. It makes corrections very easy.

In my opinion, one of the best putters on the market! Great for both throwing and putting! Doesn't have to much glide, so very easy to control on your upshots! I have more of a push putt, so I noticed it didn't have as much glide as I personally wanted, but felt great in the hand and the plastic feels amazing! Highly recommend to try out in any of the 300 series plastics! You won't be disappointed!

I got my PA3 from a players pack and loved the way it felt off the bat. I only use it for putting but after throwing it a few times I can see a world where this becomes my throwing putter as well. As someone who puts there finger on the nose of the putter, I love the flat nose.

-Reviewing in the 300 plastic- This is one of my favorite putters. It's not too shallow, not too deep, not too fast, not too slow. Not too glidey, not too quick to drop. Not too flippy, not too stable. This putter is hard to beat when it comes to go to putters. It comes in all types of plastics from floppy to stiff too. The 300 plastic is the closest to a medium plastic. It also works great for throwing. If you like beaded putters this is a must try, but I have always preferred beadless putters and I still love this putter...

300 plastic has that prefect blend of softness, tackiness and stiffness. Fits nice in average size hands. 350G & 300 firm was not as tacky, 300 soft was too gummy. The glow plastic  seemed to effect the disc slightly to the touch. Anyways 300  plastic will beat in quickly but the flight stays the same with a reliable mild fade. A great putter & plastic that I'd recommend beginners to try.

Best putting putters on the market and great neutral flyer off the tee. As someone coming from liking only beadless putters for putting this is the switch I ever made. Has a normal size bead with average depth (Probably most similar to a DD Judge in feel). Great for beginners and the advanced players. Gotta be in my top 10 favorite molds ever made.

Excellent putter for any level. I use a gannon buhr type put as well as a slower put for closer shots and it has worked fantastic! It's now pretty beat in but the feel is fantastic and it putts very straight. I found it glides more than a judge or any other putter I've tried, which I like. I tried in 200 plastic and it tacoed pretty quick and the feel was iffy, but the 300 I would highly recommend.

    Straight cash. A hyzer/spin putter's wet dream.

Have tried all the plastics for the PA3. This is the one. 350G is fantastic but can hit the basket and roll it you're not careful due to its stiffness. The 300 Soft is best to prevent this but it's a little too soft for putting consistency. The 300 is the perfect middle ground.

The Pa-3 is the most popular putter that Prodigy makes and its for a good reason. The pa-3 flies very straight for almost all throws and putts you have. I could rely on the 400 pa-3's to hold straight and be torque resistant but also be stable enough to finish slightly. The pa-3 was constantly fighting to be my main putting putter and the fact that a lot of pros also putt with them just shows how good of a putter it is. The 300 plastic is a great putting putter plastic that is not overly stiff but stiff enough to hold up in some heat. It will beat in very nicely like most baseline plastics and has a tackiness that adds a lot of grip. The pa-3 is beaded and has a rather pronounced bead, so if you do not like beads stay away from this disc. If you like a larger bead you will find this to be the perfect putter for you.

    "The Perfect Putter"

    Disc: 172g 300 PA-3, 173g 350G PA-3

Feel: The 300 plastic new is SUPER grippy but very durable; most similar to a more firm XT. The 350G is extremely firm and can take a beating while maintaining grip; a more grippy KC Pro. Flat if not puddle top, the 300 is almost starting to beat in a thumbtack like a Yeti Aviar (not so extreme). It has a flat/boxy leading wing with a sizeable bead (I thought I wouldn't like beads) but after 2-3 throws I was hooked. Perfect depth, perfect edge, my finger rests perfectly on the rim of the bead. Perfect.

Flight: Pretty stable. I normally don't putt with something that stable but this disc really fights wind and is meant to be thrown. I like saying, "If a mellow Gator could glide". Like other Prodigy molds where I used to have 2-3 discs for a spot, a Prodigy disc kicks out most of them. I find myself just leading off the tee for everything under 250 with my 350G PA-3 and a solid putt with the 300.

Conclusion: Like other Prodigy discs, weight doesn't matter, flight numbers don't matter. Just grab and throw. This disc killed half of the mids I used to carry and all of my other putters including my Harp! It is stable like a REALLY beat in Harp, but far more versatile. 1 disc I can't play without, PA-3. I strongly recommend this putter for everyone. Designed for hand comfort and great for spin putting. Slight hyzer in the chains all day. Perfect amount of stability to throw it straight as well for approaches. The plastic is grippy and just feels right, not too soft, not too firm. Confident release.

Really nice all around putter with a stable flight and decent glide. You could easily use this a putting putter if you like a small bead and don't mind a flat outer wing.

Mine is actually 300 glow and it goes in fact glow very well. Among the better ones I've seen recently.

it will hold a lot of lines with a late and fairly mild fade. Very solid disc that will likely be my glow putter for this winter season.

After 4.5 years of searching for my perfect throwing putter I finally found it. Mostly straight with a touch of fade, even in it's base plastic you can put some decent power and anhyzer angle on this disc and it will still come back for you.

Recommend throwing with nose down for control.

The 3-speed gets out of your hand and to the target faster than most putters, minimizing the time it can be affected by the wind.

Giving this a "somewhat beginner friendly" rating only because I feel there are many other putters out there with less stability that beginners can throw farther and straighter, which is usually what they're looking for as they're learning to develop their arm speed.

I never knew I liked beaded putters until the Pa-3. This is easily the most comfortable putter for my hand (medium, shorter fingers) that I've tried.

I'm a hybrid spin putter. I have a very flat release, and this disc holds flat the whole way. If you hyzer putt, it will hit chains at the same angle as release.

Extremely glidey for throwing. I have about 350ft drive power, and I can throw the Pa-3 about 260 reliably. Great for upshots and very sticky in terms of ground play.

If you like shallow, beaded putters this should be at the top of your list.

I putt and throw this in 300 plastic regularly as well as throw 400 and 400G.

300 plastic can take a beating and can "chunk" but holds its stability for a surprising amount of time. I've had a 300 in my bag for 4 years and it stays dead straight out to 250-260 ft, but will show turn if I'm throwing harder than that. Fresh base plastics and premium fly straight with a touch of fade.

You can tell this disc was designed for hand comfort and is an absolute masterpiece.

The PA-3 is a great beaded putter! It has a somewhat deep feel with a noticeable bead. For putting, this disc goes very straight with minimal fade at the end. It's not the most glidey putter so you don't have to worry about going very long if you miss.

As a driving putter it has a very neutral flight. In 200, 300, and 350 plastics it has a slightly understable flight. If you're looking for a straighter flight then the 400, 500, or 750 plastics are for you. This disc can handle a lot of power, but won't hold up well in a headwind.

300 plastic is really grippy which is nice. When these putters break-in they puddle topped for me which gave even more grip. The bead is a good size and feels comfortable. This review is just for putting as I never threw this for approach or drives.

I could not get these putters to fly consistently for me. They were super unforgiving if I ever had the nose up. The glide is not even close to the glide of an Aviar even though it's rated at 4 glide. The stamps can get close to the edge and affect the stiffness of the top of the disc and thumb grip. I hate to give three stars but I had to pull these from the bag pretty quick.

The PA-3 from Prodigy; a beaded putter, is a very popular putter in the area I live in. East Tennessee. Why you might ask? The signature series PA-3 has Chris Dickerson's name on it, and he is of course from this area as well. A lot of people have picked these up in support of Chris and the hype on these is real. I helped host a Par2 recently. I donated my A3 and didn't use it at all, so I played my round (and another round for fun later) with onl the PA-3. What I noticed during these two rounds, is that this disc feels great in the hand no matter if you are putting, or driving off the tee. During this Throw, Putt, Throw, Putt, Throw, Putt layout of the Par2, I was able to card an Ace during my practice round on a 140' Hole that carried over a pond. I know it's not the longest of throw-ins but it felt good being able to card that 1 with a disc that I wasn't necessarily familiar with. The reason I typed out this, was to show you that you can get to know this putter quick. I've never been a fan of beaded putters, but I was actually able to make this one work off the tee, and while putting. Carding a 39 (during my practice round that didn't count) on a par 36 was definitely not what I expected to do. If you haven't tried out a PA-3, make sure you do so! You will be able to learn it's flight quick and will feel comfortable with it almost instantly.

I really don't have a preference when it comes to beaded putters. I have had putters that I loved that had no bead and some that have had beads. That being said, this putter has a very large bead and feels very firm but soft. It's a really nice plastic. For me the bead is a bit large for my taste, but after putting with it, I have gotten used to it and don't mind it anymore.

I started trying it on approaches and drives, and this disc shines there as well. I love the way this thing flies as a driving putter. It has great stability to hold the line and not turn, then has a reliable fade right at the end. I was able to get good distance with this putter off the tee and trusted it completely.

It has now replaced my Wizard for inside the circle putting. I Love this disc.

So give it a try, you might like the large bead, and if you do, then it is a very solid putter. and if you don't like the bead, at least you can still use it for a great throwing putter.

If you miss a putt with this putter, it's because you threw it away from the chains. This putter is incredibly straight and it took a bit for me to learn that. I continued to miss right as I was waiting for it to finish toward the basket. Well, now I have learned that if it throw it at the chains, it hits the chains. Great putter for all players.

300 PA3s are my preferred putting putters. The grip is fantastic, even in high humidity which is almost every Midwest summer day. They stick to the chains and fly very straight with lower powered putts inside 100' or so.  Putt with a little hyzer and they will finish on hyzer.  Push putt with a little nose down angle and they fly super straight.

Throwing the 300 PA3 will result in a very, very straight shot, with a little turn if powered up on. 300 PA3s, to me, offer an insane amount of grip so when I need a tee shot to go straight up to 300' I may opt for this disc.

The bead on the PA3 feels different, to me, than most other beaded putters. This may be all in my head but it feels less cumbersome than say a Wizard.

I was able to try out the Pa-3 during an indoor tournament hosted at an indoor rodeo arena. This featured uphill and downhill approaches, and lots of tricky short game shots like tunnel shots. We were given a Pa-1 and an Pa-3 to use, both brand new and 300 S Plastic. The Pa-1 is advertised as overstable so I wasn't too surprised on the stability. But the 300 Pa-3 was much more overstable than I was expecting. It basically was flying exactly the same as the Pa-1. The only real difference I saw between the 1 and 3 was that the Pa-3 had more glide. Otherwise, the amount of turn and fade was consistent between the two putters.

With all that said, the Pa-3 had a pretty decent flight path. With 100 holes of disc golf played, the Pa-3 earned me 3 or 4 Aces on what were essentially par-2 holes. I found myself going to the Pa-1, since it was the disc I won the Amateur World Championship with and I knew it better. But also, I'm not a huge fan of beaded putters. There is only one disc with a bead that I can find a consistent release with and it is the Discmania P1-x.

While I don't want to seem like I'm bashing on the Pa-3 too much, I did like the feel and release of the Pa-3 for forehands. When I got those 'aces' with the Pa-3 during the indoor tournament, it was from forehand shots with the Pa-3. I liked it much more than the 1 for forehands because it had a slightly lower profile (at least it felt like it in my hand).

Overall, I would say that the Pa-3 is a good choice for those that want a beaded Prodigy putter. The flight was consistent and dependable. The only reason I knocked off a couple of stars is because I was hoping it would be much less stable and because I don't like beaded putters. Otherwise, I think the Pa-3 is a great option for beaded putter lovers and those looking for a dependable forehand approach disc.

Went to a Par-2 shooutout hosted by Pikes Peak Flying Disc Club, we were given two Prodigy discs, a PA1 and a PA3.  I have never thrown any Prodigy plastic before.  At about 110', fired my first shot with the PA3 and landed 6 feet to the right of the basket, rest of the day went just like that.  As a putter, up close it was laser sharp, outside of 20 feet, has a slight left fade.  For the time I got to use it, I was impressed...Looking forward to adding this to my bag.  Also, if you crank it up off the tee-pad, will go about 200' and fade, very straight flyer..
