The Berg is unparalleled: A low glide putter that flies true every time, and will not outdrive the basket. Its aptitude lies in precise landings and eliminating the need for distance control. A distinctive attribute of this disc is its thumbtrack, with a lowered flight plate that almost hugs your hand. Remarkably versatile for both forehands and backhands, the Berg fearlessly accommodates the full extent of your power, steadfast against turnover, and adeptly managing even the most delicate approaches you encounter.

I have thrown every Berg so far made, I really enjoy the K3 the most. My flight rating would be 1/1/0/1, it is the least stable version of the berg with the soft berg being the most stable. I feel like the plastic is durable yet can break in. Great utility disc for death putt approach's on windy days.

Berg does Berg things. I received mine from a friend and its in K3. K3 is nice and grippy which is useful on the Berg. K3 or K1 Soft are probably the best plastics to use the Berg in. Throw it straight and it goes straight then drops like a brick. Throw it on hyzer, it holds hyzer and drops like a brick. Throw it on anhyzer and it holds mostly and then, you guessed it, it drops like a brick. The Berg has such a cult following for a reason. It does what it is meant to do and it does it well. I won't say it will change your approach game forever, but if you're the type of player who likes to just point and shoot this may be the disc for you. If you're someone who likes to throw a lot of putters and manipulate the lines, then maybe pass on the Berg. The Berg is a one-trick pony, but its an award winning show pony.

I finally broke down and decided to try this meme of a disc. I find it's not comfortable in the hand for almost any kind of grip. Now, it certainly has its use and I'm sure is a great weapon on windy days. I understand the appeal for those that like it, but I personally would rather use a Pig as it acheives roughly the same thing, yet is more comfortable.

Don't let the haters fool you; the Berg by Kastaplast is an awesome disc. The Berg is great at one thing and does it probably better than any other disc. It wants to fall out of the air. If I could rate the glide lower than 1 I would. As an approach disc this thing loves finding grass next to the basket and settling. Additionally I have yet to throw a disc that has less side to side movement. You can rip this thing flat and it has a ton of stability but is not at all overstable. If you give it height it will have a little finish but overall the Berg wants to ride straight even in a headwind or when thrown forehand. In K3 this thing is super grippy with moderate stiffness. The rim shape is unique and can take a little getting used to. I find that the Berg often accentuates my grip lock but that is by no means the discs fault. If your approach game is lackluster invest in a Berg.

I was very apprehensive about this disc. I heard all the hype but figured it wasn't for me. Until a guy i met at a course let me throw his. Boy, I'm all about BERG Gang now. As soon as you figure out your power and distances you can very reliably give the Berg a toss and know it's going to die before flying right past the basket. It'll glide for a short distance and then sit right down.

The feel might be odd for some, its top is reminiscent of a thumb track but super smooth and comfortable for both forehands and back hands alike.

If you give it a chance you will find a spot in your bag for the Berg.

I recently traded for a K1 Berg to see what all the hype was about.

The Berg has a very unique feel in the hand. It's not really comparable to anything else in disc golf. The edge of the disc is very blunt and rounded with a very, very flat flight plate which bevels out the edges of the disc making it sink in the middle. The beveled edge makes it very comfortable in the hand and gives you a lot of confidence when throwing it.

The flight of the Berg is also very unique. It's one of the slowest discs in the sport, and regardless of how hard you throw it, it's not going to fly much further than 200 feet. However, you can put all your power into the Berg and it won't turn over, it won't fly very far, and it will land soft without any skip.

What makes the flight of the Berg so special? Because it's always going to do the same thing every time you throw it. It's going to be hard to overthrow and skip past your landing zone because it's distance is very controllable and it will always land soft, regardless of how you throw it - making it very forgiving to form flaws.

I can definitely see where all the Berg hype comes from as it's so unique and fun to throw.

    Disc - K3 Berg

Feel - The berg has one of the most interesting feels in the world. It almost feels like a thumbtrack but the flight plate rolls up to the thumbtrack. You can also feel this indention on the bottom of the disc. I personally think that the disc still feels great in the hand but I do not care as much about feel as many others.

Flight - The berg has an incredible flight. It has absolutely no glide. This disc actually feels good forehand and backhand so I think many people can use this disc for both of those and it flies very straight. Personally I think the berg is a great approach disc for people that have trouble with short touchy upshots because I struggled with backhand short upshots where speed control was vital and this disc changed my game.

Overall - Very unique disc that I think many people could benefit from bagging.

The Berg is one of the most unique approach discs on the market. It almost feels like a dinner plate with the caved-in feeling middle but that makes it extremely comfortable, especially for forehands. I use this disc for any approach from about 110ft and in, and it's an excellent disc to use when running a long putt. The low glide ensures the disc won't fly too far past the basket and the K3 plastic is really grippy in both the hand and on the chains.

Man am I loving this disc!  I was looking for an over stable putter for approach shots with very little glide (can anyone say PIG), but was having a hard time finding the one I was originally looking for.  -Enter the Berg-  I had a friend that let me borrow theirs for a round and instantly fell in love with it.  I have it in both K1 and K3 plastics and even though I am currently not using it as a putter I have found room in the bag for both plastics.

The K1 Plastic is awesome!  if anyone else knows of Prodiscus the plastics are very similar in feel, plus they can take a beating and never look as though they where ever thrown.  The plastic retains the flight numbers for a good while, and even though it doesn't have a bunch of ending fade it will work itself out of a anhyzer line fairly well.

The K3 Plastic is quite a glorious feeling in the hand (gummy, soft, yet with a good bit of stiffness).  This thing STICKS to the ground when thrown.  My local course has some rocky outcrops with roots and dirt and most approach discs that I've thrown in the pass will bounce away or even take a bad roll.  I've not experienced this with the K3 plastic (unless I completely bomb the shot).  The plastic beats in over time but I haven't experienced any change with the numbers.  I rated the numbers off the K3 plastic which for me seam to have less fade it.

In the end I am still looking for that slightly more over stable disc, but for now I'm pretty comfortable knowing that I have this disc in my arsenal.

Wow, I can't say enough about this Disc. First off, I own at least one in every single plastic, but I love the K3 best for this Disc. This is not my putting putter ( I use a K1 and K3 Reko ), This is my short upshot Disc. I love the unique way this disc flies. On a short approach, I throw this with a bit of anny and watch the Disc stable out, and just float down where I need it to. This disc also doesn't have a lot of glide which i actually see as a benefit here. I just know how far this disc can go and especially in the K3 plastic just come to rest without much movement. This is one of those discs that can give you a boost of confidence.

I really dig the shape of this disc, It has a unique and comfortable puddle top. Not just a thumb-track like some other disc, it actually slopes towards the inside.

This is a disc you just have to try out. Kastaplast is known for its plastics but not too many people i know use them, (those who have tried my Berg have bought one) I use a lot of their discs, and I really like all of them.

At first, when I received this disc I was pretty let down. But that's because I was primarily trying to use it as a putter until I realized the spot where it REALLY fit into my bag. I had been using a Zone as my approach disc, which was usually great other than the few miscalculations where I would have it fade and land way to far from the basket. This disc, on the other hand, is point and shoot, you line up the shot where you want it to go, release it flat and throw it the amount that you need to get it there. No need to worry about it gliding away on you or fading away from the basket, it just plops right down where you wanted it to go. I recommend to anyone struggling with approaches!

I don't know if I got a lemon, or if I'm not throwing it right, but the Berg has just as much speed and glide as other putters. I was hoping for a putt and approach disc that could fight the wind and not go very far, but when I throw the Berg into a headwind, it lifts right up. I also found it harder to get a good release when putting because of the rim. The best part about this disc was the plastic. The K3 blend felt amazing, probably the best baseline plastic I've felt.

An overstable driving putter with no glide. Never actually used it for putting but a 150-200 foot approach shot is perfect! Very hard to roll away or skip, will sit where it lands. Awesome in the wind!

I had read so many good things about the berg and finally decided to purchase one in the K3 plastic per recommendations. This disc instantly became my new favorite approach disc and is perfect for those risky death putt runs as it drops out of flight pretty fast and wont overshoot the basket or roll, even holds up in wind pretty decently. The berg is very versatile and can be thrown backhand and also handles forehand torque with no problem. I read the K3 plastic had the least amount of fade so I went with this and I love the way this plastic feels. This disc definitely shaves strokes off my game and will be a staple in my bag for years and years to come. I shoot this from about 100ft and under.

The berg is the most unique disc on the market. It flies exactly where you tell it to (unless you tell it to fly far). I love the berg for smashing on a disc and knowing I won't overthrow my target. It holds a good flick anny line and it is an incredible forehand roller. I use it for downhill or headwind putts as well because it just ignores wind as long as it's flight plate isn't exposed. The berg has no glide. I have thrown the berg in K1, K2, and K3 plastic. My favorite by far is K3. It's grippy, it holds up remarkably well (just like premium plastic) and it is straight. It doesn't fade out at the end like K2 and K1 do. Kastaplast K3 plastic feels like a good grippy base plastic and holds up like premium plastic. It's magic.

This is the best putter on the market. Its like tossing a brick at the basket, if it misses it will not roll away. Ive tried Aviar, P2,P1,P3 none of them can touch this magical beast. The feel for K-3 is like no other, very soft but firm. Just buy one if you dont like it you can sell it for 90% of what you paid for it on eBay or FB.

The berg is a slow speed, low glide approach disc with a deep thumb track. This is my go to disc for forehand upshots. I do not putt with this disc, but it is by far my most thrown disc besides my putting putters! This disc is money any distance inside 175 ft.

My previous review was for the Berg in K2, plastic, this is for the K3. The plastic affects the flight enough that it warrants a separate review.

In K3 the top is flat to somewhat concave, what is called "puddle top." Usually this makes discs more overstable, but in the Berg it reduces the glide to being almost imperceptible.

What makes this disc special is the absolute straight flight and complete lack of glide. After you have thrown this disc enough to have it dialed in, you literally CANNOT overthrow the basket. If you are 40 feet out and throw the disc 40 feet, it flies dead straight for 40 feet then falls to the ground, 2 to 3 feet left of it flight line. If you miss your putt, you have a drop in. It is also virtually wind resistant.

Adopting this disc as my putter has shaved 3-6 strokes off of my game on average.

Cons: Hard to throw this disc on a drive and the K2 plastic is much, much better as an approach disc.

My numbers would be 1,0,0,1 in K3 as a putter, 1,1,0,2 in K2 as an approach disc.

My k3 Berg has become a key part of my bag. It serves 2 purposes:

    1. For upshots in the 100-180 foot range, you can throw this thing nearly max power on a hyzer line. It is sooooo slow, like the slowest thing on the planet. It's ideal for those shots when you would normally need to throw 80% with a stable putter, but are afraid of going slightly too far. And it will stick the landing nicely, very little skip on this meaty beast.

    2.  This thing is the best forehand utility roller ever. Got roots to get over? No problem, he'll just roll over them like an ATV. Want your (rhfh) forehand roller to go right? No problem, let it hit the ground with a little more angle than normal and it'll hold the line. Want it to go straight for 100 feet in long grass? Just throw a normal forehand roller, it'll only curl out slightly at the end. Want it to turn left and hold the curl for a long ways? Just throw it straight up and down. Oh, did I mention it'll plow through 6 inch long thick grass? Yeah, just give it a little extra power.

If you play tightly wooded courses where you often end up stuck under a bush with a 2 foot low ceiling and need something that will roll for a while, clear some roots, and plow through some clumps of grass, this disc is a must.

My favorite berg moment so far was being about 40 feet downhill on a steep grade, in dense trees/bushes. Hitting a 2 foot gap at chest height and landing as a forehand roller, rolling uphill through thick grass before entering the fairway, at which point it carried straight to the far side of the fairway, and then slowly curled back to the center. No other disc in my bag could possibly have done all of that.

I have the Berg in the K3 plastic, and it is my go-to putter. I have a pretty lousy short game, and I don't necessarily believe that a certain disc can clean up one's game, but this disc has at least given me better assurance that it will pretty much stick where it lands. I've also found myself throwing this disc forehand on approach shots of awkward distance. Overall, I just love this disc. Good feel and good flight!

I love this disc! I use it for almost all approaches under 100 ft. It has no glide and basically falls where I want it to go. It has saved me so many times on courses where I need a predictable disc for a short shot.

The K3 plastic is great! It has worn in very well and if I throw hard it just goes straight. I can grip and rip the disc and it will not turn over, it will not fade out and it will not go very far.

I throw it at some point on almost every hole but it is not my driver, mid or putter. It wills a often needed gap. It is my "get there reliably" disc.

After a long long look for a go to putter after going through putters the K 3 was the disc for me! has a lot of glide with some good stability. As a spin putter it feels good through the winter and even through the summer doesnt get flimsy. Once beat in the disc goes straight so you will never lose confidence when going for the basket!

When I saw the Berg's numbers I immediately thought slower more controllable Rhyno.  I was wrong.  It was no good for the short Fhs I thought it would be good for, nor was it good for short overhand shots either.  It is very good at short placement shots that can't skip from the basket or longer spin putts.  The K3 plastic is surprisingly durable for a cheap plastic.

?So let's get this out of the way right at the beginning...this disc is rather strange looking. This putter has a very pronounced rim that raises up and puddles a bit in the middle. That rim is thick too. The berg is a beefcake. I chuckled the first time I saw one.

    Then I held it.

The bloated rim is exactly how a putter should feel. You slot that thing in your hand, all the points of connection feel great. Thumb is comfortable, index finger is comfortable, the rim sits snug to your hand, and it's not so deep that your fingers on the bottom of the plate feel off. Everything just fits.

It took exactly one round for the Berg to boot two discs out of my bag. I took out my Star Rhyno for a K1 Berg for tee shots, and my K3 Berg took over in the circle putting duty away from my Prime Warden. I have just transitioned to a more of a spin putt, and the Berg just responds to that better. Mentally I know with the low speed and glide if I do miss, I'm not going to spin off in to 3 putt land.

My friends looked at it, were as skeptical as I was about it, then curiosity kicked in for them too. By the end of the first round they played with me, 3 of my buddies bought a berg on the spot.

Find one, hold one, and become a Berg believer!

172 blue K3 Berg.  The Berg has become the only putter I use during high wind rounds.  The lack of speed and glide really helps the Berg to plant and stick where it hits the ground.  Off the tee with a good rip, it's actually an amazingly straight disc from start to finish.  In my opinion it's not quite as overstable as the numbers might suggest.  This was my first disc in K3 plastic, and after a few months it has held up extremely well.  K3 is a very grippy "baseline" plastic with a softer feel.  I recommend this disc in any of the amazing plastics Kastaplast has to offer.
