One of my buddies grabbed this disc and suggested I try it out. I threw it and immediately fell in love. it is a point and shoot kind of disc that will hold whatever line you put on it. Imagine a faster Buzzz. would 10 out of 10 recommend this disc for anyone

I'm 980 rated AM40 with a noodle arm and this is the only disc I can trust off the tee pad. I throw in 166gr and is bullet straight with a nice fade and a good skip on short grass. When new if flies true but beats in to a 5/ 4/ -1/ .5.

I will never be without this disc and when thrown well I can hit 310 to 325yrd.

Nice straight flying fairway disc that doesn't get up too high or fade too much at the end. I have a 168g star and it's very predictable.

The TL3 is truly a magical disc. Looking to nail gaps in thick woods? Look no further than this disc. Dead straight, great for hyzer flips with minimal fade; once they beat in, the become fantastic hyzer-release turnover discs. If you bag a Teebird, the TL3 is an excellent compliment. It maintains a very similar feel and flight path but is much straighter and a touch faster. Would highly recommend this disc to players of all skill levels.

My Star TL3 is in Star plastic and weighs about 170 grams. I bought it on a whim at a disc golf pro shop on a business trip. I wasn't looking for anything in particular - all I knew was that I didn't have very many fairway drivers in my bag, so I thought I'd give the TL3 a shot.

The first time I threw it, I was shocked to find that it followed its flight numbers exactly (which means that it flew it had the tiniest s-curve, ultimately resulting in a super straight shot). I then tried throwing it on different lines. Every time, the TL3 held the line. So this disc is a shot-shaping machine. I was also pleasantly surprised by how far it can fly. If you throw it on a slight hyzer, it will flip up to flat and end with a slight fade.

I would recommend this disc to a beginner looking to get easy distance with low arms speeds. Its largely neutral flight is perfect for those just starting to experiment with drivers. I would also recommend this disc to more advanced players looking for an extremely straight flying disc or looking to do some shot-shaping down wooded fairways.

FD but better! It won't dump right when thrown flat or with a slight anhyzer. The TL3 will always maintain a bit of fight and is great for slight flip ups and long-distance accuracy in the woods.

    It's absolutely cash money.

This is a very neutral flying disc. Has some fade when it's new but as it beats it it gets straighter and straighter.

It does what you want it to, and goes where you tell it.

Kind of a vague review and I apologize for that, but this thing is a sniper for picking your fairways on straight shots. Would recommend bagging it.

For beginners, this is a great first driver.

Tried one after a buddy referred to it as a nicely seasoned Teebird. And I tend to agree. Such a great disc that you can use as a workhorse (when it's not windy) for a lot of players and get super straight flights that finish left In the woods for advanced players

This disc is amazing. The TL3 is what everyone thinks the teebird3 is. People see top pros throw super straight shots with their teebird3 and want to throw that same shot, but the teebird3 is always way too overstable. Well the TL3 will give you just that. I picked one up looking to fill a slot between a crave and a felon and fell in love the moment I threw it the first time. The thing flies so straight for 85 percent of its flight then has a gentle fade at the end. I cannot stress to you enough just how amazing of a shot that is to have. Being able to look down a tunnel and know that you have a disc that will be able to stay straight long enough is so important in wooded golf and I can't recommend the TL3 enough.

Overall the TL3 is an amazing fairway driver. Forehand, backhand, it doesn't matter it just wants to go straight every time.

The straight line control driver I was looking for.

Has just a slight bit of turn and a light fade to finish. Great for those tunnel shots. My local courses are quite open, but been playing with old friends in different area with more wooded holes.

    A disc I didn't know I needed.

Would say its pretty beginner friendly - the turn helps those weak arms.

    Colored Halo Star 173g

The feel of this disc is absolutely amazing. I prefer the TL3 over the original TL due to my fast arm. With it in Halo plastic, the loss of glide is then re-added because of it. For a fairway driver this thing surely flies. A very straight and useful disc for all. I get a slight turn with it if they're on flat but otherwise the overall in the street when it finishes. If I'm really trying to power it, a light hyzer flip will give it its nice straight flight for those who are having trouble getting it to fly straight flat. Otherwise for slow arm speed throwers, this disc should fly straight overall but may fade more than its rating suggest. I would suggest using putters and midranges and getting a stronger arm on those before attempting a fairway driver, especially if a disc like this is fading very heavily. Overall, the feel and performance of this disc is very highly advanced. Especially in halo plastic.

    Disc: Innova TL3 - Star 175g - Light Blue (8/4/-1/1 flight numbers)

Feel: Innova's TL3 is a flattened version of the 7 speed TL (or Teebird L) which brings down the glide (slightly) but increases the speed (slightly). The latest run of Star TL3s seem to be much more flat than the original run (with 8/4/0/1 flight numbers) that came out a few years back and better differentiates from the TL and Teebird3. The rim width & depth really isn't much different from the 7 speed Teebird but has a flat under rim instead of a concave one (producing the straighter flight). The Star plastic blend for this run is pretty grippy with a flexibility between Champion and Pro (holding up well in cooler temps). Overall a comfortable fairway driver to grip and rip backhand but forehand might require a bit more touch.

Flight: Extremely straight on flat or slight hyzer backhand. Flips up and holds flat till the end of the flight with a minimal fade to finish (much less than a Teebird/Eagle). Really holds onto the release angle well, managing to hold on long enough for uphill shots that a Teebird3 would stall out and fade off line.

Impressions & Comparisons: Out of the box it had a near identical flight to a well worn in Color Glow Teebird I've been throwing for a few years. I usually put that one away for winter and around water hazards so its nice to have a substitute that doesn't require too much working in. Very apparent when my form was off/inconsistent or I didn't line up a shot correctly which is nice for such a torque resistant disc, opposed to a more understable one like the Leopard3, Mako3, or Roadrunner which require more finesse, powering down, alignment, and release angle attentiveness. I did manage some very surprising shots very quickly with this latest Star TL3, including an ace on a 285' hole at a local course on a slightly uphill shot!

Most comparable flight would probably be a QJLS or Centurian, but the handfeel is a bit different for both of those (not really great for forehand). If you want a more stable FD or Leopard3 or a less stable Teebird or FD2 (any iteration/mold version), the Star TL3 might be your best bet. I found the Star and Champion TL3s fly close to their flight numbers after just a few rounds. While the name might be a bit uninspiring, the TL3 is nearly universal in its appeal as a straight flying fairway driver.

Innova Star TL3 is slightly more understable to me than what is suggested in the flight numbers. It lives in my bag but I rarely use it. Its flight reminds me more of a less glide mid that they made in a driver mold. It can be really flippy if you put power on it and it can and will go dead straight if you finesse it(but you really have to finesse it.  And its low speed fade is more overstable so finessing it can be complicated. I honestly battle with pulling it to put something i would use more in its place or better yet a back up leopard3 might be better suited in its slot. None the less this disc is not a beginner friendly disc in my opinion simply because of the amount of control required to actually unleash this disc full potential. couple that with the inconsistency of innova star plastic then you really have a challenge on your hand.

If your a beginner I would recommend a leopard3 over the tl3, if your a seasoned player on the other hand your probably bagging a mid in its place.

If I could give it half stars I'd give it a 3.5 star review simply because it does feel good in the hand and can preform well bh or fh, just not the disc for me. You should try it if you interested in a turn over type shot though, cause once it turns over it stays turned over.

I bag a TL and love that disc. I picked up a TL3 to give it a shot, and found that it flies completely different. It's not only a "faster" disc, but also more understable. I continually turn the disc over on lines where my TL just goes arrow straight. I know this slight turn was built in to give a slightly longer flight to the disc, but when I am trying to throw a tunnel shot, I don't want my disc to have ANY left right variance until the end of the flight. You can correct the turn by placing the disc on a small hyzer angle, but this starts to present other problems and makes consistency an issue.

The disc also has a fade rating, but it's not reliable. There are times where it will fade almost like the Teebird it's based on, but that's rare. Usually the disc will not fade at all, and hold the incorrect line after the high-speed turn, and place you a few dozen feet from your intended landing zone.

The TL3 does make an okay overhand disc for straight tunnel shots, acting a lot like the TL for overhands with just a slightly faster flip early, and a stronger fade at the end, but I am not going to carry a disc in my bag for that shot when I have discs like my Firebird, Roadrunner and OG-TL that fill all the shot angles I need.

The TL3 is a solid disc, but I feel there are just a lot of other disc that do what it does, just much better.  To me this feels like less of a Teebird variant, and more of a high-speed Leopard variant. But again, I would rather just throw my G-Star Leopard, or my Roadrunner on a slight hyzer for any shots and not bag an in-between disc like the TL3.

The TL3 is a very straight control driver that is as beginner friendly as you can get.  It doesn't take a big arm to get distance with this one.  Just give it a flat release and it will fly on that line for a long ways with the slightest fade at the end.  The narrow rim fits well in the hand and simply instills confidence.  I have used this disc in DX, Champion, and Star plastics.  I got similar results from all three, but really liked the durability and dependability of the Champion plastic.  Go ahead and pick up a TL3 regardless of your ability, you will not be disappointed.

I definitely miss my trusty TL3 which I just recently lost in a swamp due to a bad release. This disc is laser straight and reminds me a lot of my Mako3 which is my favorite disc. It will run straight for days, but can also be used for mini flex shots through some tricky wooded fairways. This was my go to driver for straight distance shots that required a good level of control either due to a narrow fairway or a low ceiling. It excels in tunnel shots! It is somewhat beginner friendly, because as most people tend to release on a slight hyzer (RHBH) this disc cannot get its true flight path for the mini flex shot that this disc can pull off.

This is my go to backhand disc for off the tee box and longer fairway throws. I came from throwing a Destroyer backhand and I can get more distance while being more accurate with this thanks to the laser straight throws. For me, the thinner rim really lets me lock it into my hand nice.

As a halfway decent recreational player, I can say to other more beginner players, just get this released flat and you're going to have a great time.

I bag a high 160s Star TL3, and it's my workhorse fairway.  So much so that I've thinned down my fairways to only 3 discs.

You'll probably not find another disc on the market that's as laser straight as the TL3 that's also as fast as an 8 speed.  Those looking for a faster midrange type of flight should strongly consider a TL3.

When thrown flat and hard, it will demonstrate a very subtle s flight with minimal horizontal play, and end up where you aim.  It has enough integrity to handle hard, flat rips without turning over or drifting right (unless thrown into a noticeable headwind), which I find to be a great quality for a straight flying mold.  You can also put a baby hyzer on it and watch it flip up to flat and ride super straight with a gentle and forward penetrating fade.  It's very easy to work an anny release line with it as well, without it crashing into the ground early.

Pinpoint accuracy and precision with good distasnce potential, the TL3 has it all.

This disc is the first fairway driver I ever got my hands on. Having had trouble with distance drivers, this disc felt so good and satisfying to throw.when I first got it. I usually don't use this disc for trying to get max distance, but it's good for long-ish holes that require a straight, laser beam shot.

Personally, I feel like the turn should be displayed -1 instead of 0 here just like Innova does, because this disc will turn over if you throw it hard. The turn is slight enough that the it can be used as a tool for specific shots while you're still able to throw it in a straight line other times by carefully managing the speed/angle of the throw.

This is just such a good disc that I've always found a use for no matter which course I've gone to, so much so that I've gone out of my way to replace it ASAP each time I've lost it, going from G Star plastic, to Champion, to Star; my bag just feels empty without it.

Personally, I would recommend Star plastic because it's the best feeling plastic for this kind of disc while still being fairly durable. My G Star TL3 got a noticeable chunk of the rim chopped off when I sent it into a tree literally on its first test throw. Champion plastic felt okay as well but I feel like I can control the disc better with the Star plastic.

If you're considering this disc, just... get it. My friends did after my suggestions and none of them regret it. You won't either.

I love my TL3. I currently have 2 in the bag, one star that’s more beat in and a champion that’s much newer. For me this disc really does it all. The less beat in TL3 will fly dead straight when thrown flat or with a slight anhyzer but always has a slight fade to finish. Beat in molds will hyzer flip to straight or a tight S down a narrow fairway.

This disc also holds a turnover perfectly, when I need a big forehand turnover to bail me out of the trees or a RHBH on a dogleg right this is the first and only disc I reach for.

Don’t let the 4 glide fool you. When I’m in an open field I’ve thrown a TL3 over 480 feet.

Honestly this disc does it all and if you’re a higher arm speed player who needs a control driver or if you’re a medium-low arm speed player who need some controlable distance the TL3 is the disc for you

I was looking for a stable fairway driver, and the TL3 fit that slot in my bag! TeeBird's were a bit too overstable for me, but the TL3 felt so much better for me in throwing a straight shot.

I will say that it took me a little while to get the kind of flight I wanted from this disc, but once I broke it in, it's now my go-to fairway driver. Which is why I would say it's not for beginners, it wasn't even for me until I increased my arm speed. But now that I have enough arm speed, this is such a great disc for an intermediate player looking to find a stable fairway driver.

Also, I found that mine gets a little more turn than what the flight statistics say. I'd give it a -1 turn and 1 fade, which are very consistent for me.

The TL3 is probably one of the most underrated control drivers.  It has such a straight flight path when thrown right.  I cannot descibe this disc.  I throw this thing right, and it just floats straight.  It says four glide, but I am going to say five glide.  As Star Plastic gets beaten in, I can use this disc for a little turnover.  If you play in the woods ( like me) or in the open, you need this disc.

I love this disc! I've been playing less than a year so my form and arm speed may be suspect. That being said, this disc can really fly and it flies straight. I have been mostly using a Mystere for my tee shots lately and I throw the 8 speed TL3 just as far as my 11 speed Mystere.

If you're new to the game and want straight distance, avoid the distance drivers and don't be too proud to throw some slower discs. You'll be happy you did.

Holy cow this disc is amazing. I have no idea how the bad reviewers are throwing this thing, but they're doing it wrong. It can handle way more power than I was expecting and it glides to 400ft. I completely disagree with he glide rating of 4, it most definitely has a 5.

At first I was expecting this disc to become a turnover disc, but it's definitely not that. Smashes distance with minimal fade. The only thing I've ever thrown like it is the Saint Pro from Latitude 64.

Do yourself a favor and try a TL3 in Star plastic. Most definitely an hugely underrated disc.

Maybe it's me.  I don't know.  But I've thrown TLs for a while now and loved them, I figured I could pick up a 3 for a little more speed.

Well - this disc flies like a Thunderbird to me, and I cannot for the life of me keep it from coming out a tiny but nose up.  I'm no pro, but I'm a solid 930 player right now and I typically never have a nose-up problem with any discs, but this TL3 just doesn't want to cooperate.  I'll be sticking with my TLs or using something else for longer shots for now.

This disc is the definition of point and shoot. Put a good bit of power on a flat release and this disc will just go laser straight. It won't turn, it won't fade. The disc quickly became a staple in my bag, and I would recommend it to just about anyone. It has a very comfortable mold and can be both forehanded and backhanded with ease. Take a lot of guesswork out of your game and pick up a TL3 and simply throw it where you want it to go.
