This is my go-to disc for straight holes, I can reliably throw RHFH shots 300-330 ft straight with a little fade. Surprisingly torque resistant for an 8 speed and can even manage well in a head wind. 167-169 grams in Star or Halo Star seems to be the sweet spot for me for effortless distance. As others mentioned it can also hold a hyzer line well.

(max weight Halo Star) In my opinion, the Halo Star TL3 is as close as you can get to a perfectly stable fairway driver. It had a tiny bit of turn when it was brand new, but after some use it actually stabled up a bit. This happens sometimes when the bottom tip of a disc's rim protrudes slightly more than the top of the rim. This disc surprises me time and time again. I'm a really big fan of Thunderbirds, and this disc seems to be the ideal compliment. Perfect for tailwind drives when you need the disc not to dump and also not turn. Also, the distance I can get if I juice it is kind of insane. My max drive with an overstable Destroyer is a little more than 350, and this disc goes about the same distance. The Halo Star version is not a finesse disc like most of the regular stars I have thrown. Stars sometimes have significant turn when you put a lot of power into them, Halo star does not. That being said, this disc is still a cheat code. It's just so reliable and workable at medium power. If I have a spot dogleg left 275 up the fairway that I HAVE to hit, I'll just throw this with two fingers and barely any power and it laser beams itself to that spot withw no turn and no dump. IN SUMMARY, if you are looking for a stable fairway driver that has lots of glide, miniscule turn, and a natural end of flight fade that isn't dumpy, this is your disc. If someone challenged me to a one disc round for money, this would be my disc.

Slower arm, RHBH player here.  I have been throwing a TL3 dx plastic 165gm for many many months and have fallen completely in love and depend on this disc for all tunnel or straight shots! When the dx plastic started to get too many miles on it, it started to become uncontrollably understable for me.  I was devastated bc my workhorse disc was no longer fit to fly. I decided to upgrade to a better plastic and get a new one. I ended up with a GStar 169gm and although it flys ok, it hyzers out a lot sooner and has shorter glide for me.  The better plastic with the higher weight is not my perfect fit. Decided to try one more time and got the Halo plastic in 153gm.  Now, I've only thrown it once but OMG it's gold! Absolutely perfect beautiful flight with AMAZING glide and just feels right in my.  I am so happy and truly hope this disc holds up to the miles I will most certainly put on it. Straight out of the box, this disc is GOLD! Never had a disc fly so well without the obligatory breaking in period.

I was hoping for a faster FD that would fly dead straight, and I think in any other plastic I would have gotten that, but Halo Star is sightly more overstable. I also think that it has a higher glide rating than 4, more towards a 5. This disc has a strange rim and eddge angle as well that took me a little while to get used to. Other than that it has found a spot in the bag when I need a little more speed for a skip or distance when there is a low ceiling.

Only con - halo plastic. But that is on me.
