The RocX3 is kind of an in between disc for me.  It goes further than my Gator3, but not as far as my Inca/Roc3.  I would also say the stability is between those two discs.  I really enjoy the stability and reliability of the RocX3 on windy days when you want control.  This disc just doesn't turn in the wind!  Beginners can look to this as an option for an overstable midrange, while intermediate and advanced players will appreciate its reliability.  I don't throw the RocX3 every round but I'm so glad I keep one in my bag when I need a midrange with control.

Amazing disc. Great finish. Has more of a break than the original roc. If i need a tight corner to go around or im in a tight spot this disc is phenomenal. I don't pull this out as often as the roc but this has a very special place in my disc golf bag

I have this in 180g Champion plastic.

I throw about 450 max power for reference.

Even at 6,000 feet this disc flies great for me. It goes straight for 300 feet then starts to fade. It doesn't have the fade advertised, but if you want something that refuses to turn on you and will fight out of an anhyzer, this is the disc for you.

This is my most consistent mid-range. It flies about 30-50 feet shorter then the Roc3, but the Roc3 will sometimes turn on me which is frustrating. This disc will not turn.

This reminds me of a BuzzzOS  or an Overstable Lion in the way it flies. The only difference is the BuzzzOS has more glide. The feel in the hand is way different. But if you love the Roc variants, this it the disc for you.

I bought my rocx3 to be my most overstable mid, and it does that very well. It may be too overstable to be a constant in my bag, being best in wind rounds or for fairly rare situations. Has a great feel with innovas champion plastic and the overall shape, the flat top and not being too deep.

Review is for Champ RocX3 (mine is 180g)

Bottom Line Up Front: When fully broken in a RocX3 flies like I want a Roc3 to fly all the time.

The RocX3 is flat (which I personally like in a mid), and I've never seen one that wasn't. It has a moderate rim depth with a little chunkiness (I like) to the rim. It think it feels good in the had, and the one I have is that nice champ plastic that has just the right amount of give to it. I think a lot of people pass over this disc and go Roc/Buzzz type disc to a Gator or something like that. This disc is for someone who wants a diverse midrange profile in their bag, or who want the general (not exact) flight of a Roc3 in a disc that's already seasoned.

Out of the box its pretty OS, but there are much more OS mids on the market. Its got a decent glide to it, and a strong fade, which a lot of people want. I don't think it will glide in flat and set down smooth even when well broken in. You can throw it on a baby hyzer flip and watch it ride flat for a good distance before its dump.

When broken in it flies like what I want a Roc3 to be. Its can go a long ways flat with some glide right, but in a relatively straight line and then have a moderate crash in.

There aren't many analogues to a RocX3. People either love them or don't. I recommend giving them a try to see if its something you've been missing. I feel they're an underrated disc, but also a disc that some people can cover with the overlap of two other discs. Again, get one that is really seasoned because they're kind of a slow starter that gets nice and spicy after some love.

Personal Anecdote: I had a Roc a few years ago when I first started playing disc golf. I really liked it, but I got to where I was overpowering it (mostly due to a poor skill set at the time). When I lost it my buddy who was also starting out got me a RocX3 not knowing it was a different disc. I had it for a pretty good while without thinking too much about it. Then I realized I always bagged it, partially sentimental, but also partially because it started getting really good when seasoned. My beloved blue RocX3 made around 2018 flies super straight for a very long time with a moderate/good fade, and that's after a few years of use.

This is the most reliable disc in my bag. It flies very consistently for me with the perfect amount of overstability that I need to flex it on anhyzer around a tree or throw it flat for some good fade at the end. Every time I throw my RocX3 I can count on it to never flip over even with a bit of wind and come back in case I shank it a bit which I tend to do quite often (oops).

I have tried a 150g DX Roc before, but that is now well beat in and I got a Champion RocX3 to replace that spot in my bag. The RocX3 flies very true to the flight numbers: a low glide, high fade midrange which will hold up into headwinds. I used it as that for some time, until I found myself off the fairway and scrambling and I tried throwing it on a tomahawk line. This thing kept going right and pushing forward for so long. I fell in love with that shot immediately. If I could recommend any disc for shorter tomahawks, this would be it.

The RocX3 is a pretty sweet midrange.  It is overstable, but not so overstable that you can't get a little distance.  It flies for me much like an overstable fairway, just about 75 feet shorter, but still with a good fade.  This is a perfect upshot disc, or something that you need to not go far but finish left.

I get a good release on this, both forehand and backhand.  The one I have is very heavy, 180 grams and that works pretty well for some extra control.  This flies much farther than my other overstable mids, a justice and a recluse, but not as far as an eMac Truth.

I find myself using this more for teeshots, or long upshots than get out of trouble shots, but for a newer player, this could be that disc.

This disc fit into my bag perfectly it flyers super straight and glides VERY far, it’s a nice compliment to my 3 other Roc3s, this just fades a little harder at the end.

    It's a Roc3. Maybe a touch more overstable, but it's a Roc3.

The RocX3... my crew and I reviewed the First Run Champ RocX3 and this thing was super beefy. I absolutely loved it! I ended up buying one of the later runs and it flew nothing like the first two we reviewed. Very unfortunate because I absolutely love the feel of it in my hand and purchased one to keep in my bag. After a few rounds I realized that it was nowhere near as OS as the FR so I ended up taking it out and giving it away. If you can get your hands on one of the First Run Champ's, don't pass the opportunity by. As far as the current runs go, unfortunately I just can't recommend it as an overstable Mid. I picked up a ROCX3 at a local disc shop in hopes that it could serve as a longer Zone. This disc is nice and flat and comfortable in the hand, but I really was not a fan of the flight. If released flat it would go straight for a bit followed by an ugly, dumpy fade. I didn't get any more distance than what I get with a beat up Zone. Not the disc for me.

The RocX3 is a great disc. Black Ink killed it with the stamp. Its what you would expect a Roc3 to feel like, so very comfortable in the hand, a nice flat top and a large bead on the bottom of the rim. These have a much flatter top than your standard Champion Roc3. Out of the box I was expecting this disc to be more overstable than my Roc3s but there wasn't that big of a difference. The RocX3 seemed to have about the same amount of glide, it flew a tick faster upon release and the difference in the fade between the 2 molds was minimal. I noticed that the RocX3 didn't seem to get bounced around in the wind as much as the standard Roc3s do. Overall its a great disc but for me there seems to be a bit of an overlap with the regular Roc3.

The RocX3 offers Roc3 throwers an overstable disc to partner with it. The flight is overstable, but not a meathook. This disc can fly a variety of lines by adjusting the angles. It is comfortable in hand and feels very similar to the Roc3, with a nice low profile, flat top. This is a nice disc if you are looking for an overstable midrange you can still controll.

Great disc for veterans not for starters. This is my first midrange that I could forehand and not look terrible. Also great for headwinds you can throw it into anything and it wont turnover

Without a doubt, the Roc3 is my favorite midrange. That being said, there are times that the wind picks up and their reliability can be challenged. And then the RocX3 came along and answered my prayers. In the hand it feels almost identical to a Roc3, with a slightly deeper dish, and when the wind is a factor I can throw it exactly like I would a Roc3 in calm conditions and know I will get the same results. So glad Innova released this mold.

I got it for the supposed high amount of fade.  I bag a RocX3 and a Gator for similar purposes (shots into headwind and crosswind, shot shaping, forehands).  I've found the Gator to be better at all of them.  The RocX3 isn't a bad disc by any means, but it's wider than the Gator, making it less resistant to wind.  On a calm day, the RocX3 is a decent control midrange.

This disc is definitely like its other Roc siblings, dependable and consistent.  However, this disc is not one for getting a lot of distance.  It is definitely beefy and has a meat hook fade, but it won't go as far as other overstable midranges.  It can be used very dependably for some good forehand approach shots.

I have ben throwing Roc3's for 2 years now but I always had trouble throwing them sidearm. I thought maybe the bead was the issue, but after throwing the Rocx3 sidearm I realize that is not the case (The Rocx3 has a bead just like the Roc3, they feel extremely similar in the hand) The Rocx3 is able to handle the snap a bit better than a normal Roc3 but will still turn over given enough force. I'd recommend something like a drone or Gator for sidearm throws

First run 180g ... I would agree that this Roc doesn't have the glide or the speed of a Roc3, however it does deliver as advertised. For me it flies straight with more fade then my Roc3, Vroc or KC Pro Roc. Seems to get a little air bounce in the wind but holds it's line very well and still finishes left (rhbh). I'm a predominent backhand player, but this one is easy to get a reliable flick out of as well. Overall I am more than happy to have added this one to my bag.... It will definitely be staying in the bag!

    Not An Improvement

I've been throwing Rocs for years; you'll be hard-pressed to find a Roc variant that I haven't thrown at some point over the years. That said, I fell in love with the Roc3 when it was first released. My current line-up in the bag for Rocs is: Glow Champ Roc3, Luster Roc3, Champion Roc3 and a DX Vroc. So I was pretty psyched when I heard about the Roc3X...the early word is that it flew like a beefy Rancho Roc but felt like a Roc3.

Well, they got the "feels like a Roc3" part right. I honestly could not feel a difference in the hand...and thats a good thing if you like Roc3s. The flight is very different. The Roc3X has a noticeable lack of glide compared to a Roc3. It also seems to lose speed quicker: I have no problems throwing a frozen rope 300 foot shot with a Roc3. I had to really goose it to get the Roc3X out there. It has similar high speed stability to a Roc3, but does indeed have more fade. Where I found it really excelled was throwing short-range flex shots and shorter sidearm throws. It has just enough all around stability to handle a good forehand throw and stay straight. It also resists wind better than a Roc3.

Is it a more overstable Roc3? Yes. Is it an improvement? Not really. The lack of glide, and therefore lack of usable distance, really brings it down. If you need a beefier Roc3, this will work. For me, my glow champ Roc3 already fills that slot.
