I find that the ROCX3 is so much better than the ROC. Don't get me wrong, the ROC is so good, but having it in KC Pro plastic means that I have to throw it PERFECT to get it to fly and not roll over. I definitely understand why the overstable one goes very well. I am happy that I got STAR plastic as it is much less overstable then the Champion plastic. The grip is great and I know that I don't have shorter life-cycling for this disc. I use this disc mainly for 300 foot shots. I throw it with a little more power, so it does have a little bit of turn to it. I find that the RocX3 is not for all beginners. You definitely require a lot of accuracy and precision when throwing this disc, so beginners may not get all the distance they want out of it. This disc is definitely one of my main mid-rangers. It just is more trust-worthy in my bag then the ROC. I find that it is overall more comfortable. The plastic is just a tad less grippy then KC pro, but I find it great in the hand. I can throw this disc with maybe a little more power then require and it won't work. Overall, a must bag disc for amateurs. It will be a great disc to try and I am sure that there will be a 50% chance that you will bag it.

By far my favorite overstable midrange ever. The disc flies very true to the numbers, and so far, I have not been able ti turn it over in the slightest no matter how much power I put on it (can turn over a regular Roc and Rancho Roc a fair bit at full power). The X3 just holds the line until it dumps left. On anhyzer shots, the disc acts like a mini-Firebird and can be flexed hard to go around trees. On a pure hyzer shot, the disc holds the line perfectly.

I love high fade / low glide discs, and the RocX3 doesn't dissappoint. I currently bag a 176g Star version, but also picked up a 177g DX copy to break in and see if it does the normal Roc thing where over time it can take on a myriad of flight paths. Will report back once I know. I really hope it does as this disc is my preferred disc over all other Roc variants.

Out of the box, I would say this is a very non-newb friendly disc. It has such high fade, and a low enough glide, that an inexperienced player is just going to see fade immediately leaving the hand. I would suggest a normal Roc in a low weight for newer players.

This is a great midrange disk for short hyzer lines. It does hold a decent anhyzer line with a nice fade to flat at the end.  Great disk.  For beginners this is not a good midrange to start with. I use it for a lot of upshots.

The RocX3 is my favorite midrange disc that I have ever owned. My favorite plastic for this disc is star plastic. It comes with a board flat top and very tacky grip, even in the rain. When released on a flat angle the disc will fly straight for a while and have a reliable fade. It holds great hyzer lines and if you throw it on an anhyzer, you can shape it to fly flex lines. It doesn't beat in very quick in star plastic so it stays consistently over stable.

I actually preferred this to the Roc3. It feels more comfortable to me and I was able to personally get a more consistent overstable flight. Otherwise, I think it's a fine overstable midrange and it flies like others of its kind. It feels like more disc in the hand, but in reality it does share similar flight to Roc 3

The rocx3 has been met with a lot of criticism but for me it is what I wanted the champ roc3 to be. I never experienced the overstability that I wanted with dx rocs, kc rocs, or champion roc3s. They were all stable, but I wanted something that I could throw hard that would hold the release angle for 3/4 of the flight and then fade hard. The rocx3 does exactly that, and still has the familiar feeling of a roc in the hand. I thought that it was interesting that it felt the same as a roc3 in the hand so I looked at them side by side and noticed that the only real difference I could find was that the nose of the rocx3 seemed to be more flat or square shaped compared to the rounded nose of the roc3, but you really don't notice any difference when holding them. The best way I can describe this disc is that it flies a lot like a teebird, but at the speed of a midrange. I like it for sweeping hyzer shots that need to leave the hand on hyzer and move left through the entirety of the flight, and for midrange shots that need to get a little ground action.

I had high expectations for this disc. My regular Roc3 can get flippy after time so I thought this would be a more reliable disc in regards to stability. It is definitely overstable. But it does not fly like a roc nor does it feel like one in the hand. It seems a bit tankish. Which is what I feel most players are looking for. IveI heard some refer to it as "glidey beef". I feel that's accurate too, but not what I was really expecting. It seems a bit touchy depending on the amount of torque/spin upon release. I think I would rather just use my flat top gator to achieve the results I'm looking for out of this disc and more reliably as well.

I bought my Star Roc X3 as a backup for my Mako3 and my Nate Doss Buzzz TI. It quickly became the forerunner Mid in my bag. I can throw this disc forehand on an upshot straight at the basket and it will hold its line everytime. I definitely recommend this disc for anyone looking to fill a midrange gap in their bag.

I got my RocX3 in Star plastic.  I have not tried a Champion RocX3.  Honestly, I'm not sure what this disc was made for or meant to do.  It's not particularly overstable at all.  It flies straight with a reliable but small fade at the end.  It's basically a less glidey Roc3 that is more sure to fade.  If this is your first stable-to-overstable mid, you'll have no problem with it, but it's not going to replace other discs in my bag.

I'm loving my new X3.  It fades on every line (unless I get a bad pull), and it feels faster than my old beat in kc roc.
