This is my go to approach disc!  With a lower speed with still some glide, it is incredibly easy to control your distance.  I can also make it fly just about anyway I want.  This disc alone probably shaved 5 shots off my average and I've tried A LOT of midrange and putters.

I highly disagree with its stats though, as for me this doesn't fade a bit and I know it changes when you get it beat in, but mine is pretty beat and didn't change a bit.

    TLDR at bottom.

To start off, I have thrown the roc, roc3, mako3, harp, buzzz, and a few other midranges.

The ONLY midrange in my bag right now is the RocX3.  I have one in champion and three in dx plastic.  At first, they are nice and overstable, but after a few hits/scrapes they start to wear in nice and can go straight and even a bit to the right with a little bit of anny-flex.  Champion is nice for me (a tree-finder), but I personally prefer the grip of dx plastic.  The other nice thing that I don't see discussed is the big blunt nose of the RocX3: even in dx plastic, it can take a beating because it is so beefy.  I would normally not throw midranges in dx plastic but this one makes an exception.

I love the predictability of the RocX3: before I had this disc, my midrange shots would go all over the place, and now they can go exactly where I want them to.  If the basket is within 150-250 feet at any angle, I am throwing a RocX3.  Even on longer holes, if I can't trust myself to throw a driver the correct way, I will always trust the RocX3.

In terms of feel, the RocX3 is perfect for backhand, I use a "middle-finger" control grip (index, ring, and pinky on the rim, middle-finger in a fan position), and the width of the rim makes it slightly more comfortable than the Roc.  This is of course personal preference, but the 1.4cm x 1.4cm rim shape seems to work well.  For forehand, I probably would not use this disc but that is more a statement on my skill than on the disc itself.  My friend is incredible with this disc on a forehand shot.

TL:DR - This disc is perfect for power players that want a reliable/trustworthy disc.  Any wind speed/direction, it flies the same, just be careful at short ranges because it has more glide than you would expect even with the relatively flat top.
