Finally learned how to throw this disc with the hyzer flip! Now it goes straight. Great plastic that I have just started throwing.... years after buying it.

I own Lisa Fajkus and Hannah Leatherman Swirly Leopard3's (L3): I also have champ and colorglow (CG). I own Halo Leo3's but they're basically a different disc.

Bottom Line: Great disc that you can use as your first driver (not first disc), and grow to throw more complex shots with later. I was torn between 4 or 5 star, but went with 4 because most brands have an great version of the same type of disc.

You could learn with this as a first disc, but you would benefit more from using a putter or mid probably. Star L3's can throw flip to flat straight shots at surprising distance. I think they're honestly a little faster than a 7. If you want to throw a turnover shot just throw flat with enough pop and it will do that as well. I really like the two signature ones I listed, it seems the Hannah Leatherman ones are a little higher stability. Leatherman ones are a smidge higher stability. Some of the Lisa Fajkus ones released were older penned stock, and probably released as such due to limited production during the height of covid. I'm extremely grateful for it. I found the L3 to be fairly consistent throughout runs. I really like the CG L3's as well.

Molds like the L3 are a little less popular because they aren't very fast or overstable, but learning to use OS, S, and US discs appropriately for specific shots would help a lot of people's game. So, expand your repetoire. Nobody needs 4 thunderbirds and 4 firebirds in their bags. Get some stable and understable fairway drivers in there as well for woods and turnover shots. This one is probably more stable than understable, but rides the line between the two. Its definitely not overstable.

Similar Discs: Leopard, JLS, Passion, Jackalope

Notable Pro Use: Hannah Leatherman, Lisa Fajkus, Ohn Scoggins (Halo Signature - Flies completely different but is sooooooo good)

I really like this disc. I use it for short ace runs and as a longer midrange. Very beginner friendly. Flies straight with a gentle late fade. You won’t be disappointed!

This disc is amazing. I have the hannah leatherman swirly star at 175. If I release it hyzer, it rides flat and drifts right before fading slightly. If I rip it on an anny angle, it holds the line and straightens out a bit at the end. If I throw it 50%, it does a gentle s curve and goes dead straight 250. Thia disc is a hybrid mid and fairway, and seriously filled one of the last holes on my bag. Now I get to learn all the other stuff she can do, but smooth is key with the leo3 for sure.

The Leo3 has quickly become by favorite disc since I started throwing them at the beginning of the season. I currently bag a Champ Glow, DG Luster, and a HL Swirly Star. All are incredibly straight. I get some turn out of the HL, and then depending on how much fade I need I choose accordingly. Fantastic feel in the hand, and I love the feel of all three of these plastic options. I think there is a slot beginner-open that this mold can fill.

The Leopard3 has become a staple in my bag for stable-to-understable throws and drives off the tee.  The Champion and Star Leopard3s are very good.  The Hannah Leatherman Swirly Star Leo3s are awesome.  They feel great in the hand.  They're not overstable out of the box, but just what you'd expect of a Star Leo3, and they have a ton of glide.  If they're available, pick up an HL Leo3, which helps out Hannah Leatherman as well as gets you a great disc.
