For beginners, this is your disc.  I got this disc as a beginner and it works great for either backhand or forehand shots.  The disc is very forgiving and has a distance friendly s curve flight.  I like the g-star plastic as it is soft, holds up well and is grippy. Even as a recreational player now it still has many useful places on the course as the -2 turn comes in handy when you need to miss trees 60-80 feet away and then get a nice little fade to come back after missing the trees.

This was my next level disc after learning to play with my Innova starting pack in DX plastic. After playing about 25 rounds in my first year, this disc has been perfect for my abilities. I regularly play wooded courses and it has been great for tight, controllable shots. I have more confidence in this disc than any other in my bag when I need good placement. I have also been pleasantly surprised by the distance I have gotten from this disc. The disc is still fairly new to me, but I can throw hard (my standards) with a decent hyzer and it will carry pretty well in a straight line. Overall, once your initial DX leopard turns and no longer comes back, this is the perfect disc for your bag. I anticipate keeping one of these in my bag for a while because it is really easy to throw consistently while I continue learning to play. Mine is a factory second G-Star at 168. Overall, I think the ratings are good for the disc.

So the Leopard3 is my go to midrange (I know it's a fairway driver, I use it like a midrange) and overall I like it, I have a couple complaints and a couple things I like. Complaints are this; mine has a lot of glide. It says 5 but it feels more like a 6.5. So it's a big no no on windy days. Also if I want to throw it forehand I have to put barley any power on it or else it's gonna meat hook to the left. Not the biggest deal considering what I use it for but it can be frustrating. Now things I like are it is really easy to throw RHBH I can put it pretty much whenever I want on the green when the conditions are right, and it's an okay thumber disc so overall I like but you need to practice with it. With that being said if your arm doesn't have to much speed you aren't gonna have some of the problems I have with it so I would definitely say BEGINNER FRIENDLY!!!

The Leopard3 is a disc that brings several shots to anyone's bag.  Throw is flat with moderate power and watch it go straight for a while with a moderate fade.  Throw with more power to get a nice turnover shot.  As it wears it turns into a decent roller disc.  I also like this disc for its ability to hold an anhyzer angle for a long way before gently fading back at the end (be sure to give it plenty of air).  Finally, it is my favorite hyzer flip disc and have used it to execute some great shots in wooded areas.  It works great for beginners as a straight flying control disc.  More advanced players will love this disc for the many shots that it can bring to your bag.  This disc deserves heavy consideration for inclusion in your bag.  My personal favorite plastic option is the GStar.

    170 gram Champion Leopard3

The Leopard3 is my favorite control driver.  It is understable enough for my still beginner-ish arm speed to get a nice S curve.  It has good glide, and is in the sweet spot for distance with control.  I can use it for open shots as well as tighter fairways.
