This is the disc I got my first ace with. I've bagged this mold my whole career and it's grown into different spots over time but I will always have one in the bag. This should probably be most beginners first driver. You will start with BABY S flights and grow into more shape. I recomend the G Star plastic and as you grow up you may benefit from Champ plastic. There is a reason this is in the starter set of discs.

This is my favorite fairway driver!! I have a wooded course in my hometown with tight fairways called the Woodsman.  This disc greatly reduced my score here and has buzzed the basket many times.  You can really use it for all shot shapes.  Highly recommend.  Star will likely maintain it's stability longer.  Still love my GStar

This was the first fairway driver that really clicked with me. When I first started throwing it I thought it would fade so hard. Now that I can throw it at speed this thing is a laser. It will hold an anhyzer line with a small fade at the end. Hyzers are awesome with this disc because it will flip just enough to hold the line for a long time. Workhorse in my bag for sure.

This was one of my first discs that came in an Innova Premium Starter Pack. I still have the 167g disc and use it often. For me, it flies straight, with very little fade. I've experimented with other brand discs that are similar flight ratings and I keep coming back to the Leopard3. I do prefer it over the Leopard for its slightly lower profile feel. I think it's a good standard disc to add to your bag for a straight, dependable flight.

After reading the other comments, what I'm going to say appears to echo how the other reviewers feel. I have this disc in 167g GStar. First of all, it's pearly, swirly, and royal blue with the new big cat silver stamp. It's one of the nicest looking discs in my bag. The feel in the hand is wonderful. No sharp edges, a nice rounded rim, flat on top, flexible but not overly... I love the way this disc feels.
In terms of performance, I actually rated this disc with a glide of 6 instead of 5. When thrown on slight hyzer, this disc flips up to flat and glides for days. There have been times when I've thrown 12 speed discs next to this and I achieved nearly the same distance. The glide is unreal. And I say that without throwing it at 100% full sendy power. A smooth hyzer flip with my GStar Leo3 will go a solid 320 for me easily, and I'm about a 360ish max distance thrower full sendy. Perfect tunnel shot disc, or when landing on the fairway is a much. I would choose a different disc when throwing into a headwind, but if it's a tailwind or low windy conditions, you could shred the average course with just a GStar Leo3.
I could not recommend this disc enough. If you're like me and relentlessly watch videos/read reviews before deciding on buying a disc or not, do yourself a favor and pick one up after reading my review. It's GStar, so they run on the cheaper side of the price point. I think I paid 13 or 14 for mine brand new at my local Hazy Shade disc golf store.

The Leopard3 it has been a staple of my bag. I have it in Gstar plastic

    Need some easy distance? Leopard3

    Need a backhand turnover? Leopard3

Need to gas a hyzer flip down a tunnel? Leopard3

It's amazing, perfect, and I refuse to use any other 7 speed understable fairway driver.

This is my all time favorite disc. Works for any shot you can use it as a mid range but be careful if you get to much power it soars. Got my first ace with it and love it.

I purchased the G* Leopard 3 as an upgrade to the 2 DX Leopard 3s I already had. These 2 had been pretty beat so I opted to go to the G* version primarily because I liked the Shryke in that plastic. I normally throw discs in the 163-170g range but I got this one at 177g. I did not pay attention to the weight when I bought it. Since losing my 180g manhole cover Ram, this is now the heaviest disc I own. This is important in the fact that this is the only heavy disc I can throw with great control. The G* plastic has such a great feel and the physical make up of the Leo3 works great. It is easy enough to handle that my 5 yo son can heave this thing with relative ease.

The flight is far more stable than the DX versions even when they were new. The G* version flies with a slight understable turn in to a straight flight finishing with a gentle fade. I use this disc as a tunnel driver for these characteristics. My disc I would put the turn at -1 to -0.5. All of the other flight numbers match what I believe to be correct. This is one of the most forgiving discs I have ever thrown and is why my 3 kids each have a Leo3 in their bags. Very much a beginner friendly disc whether in DX or G*. Cannot speak for Pro, Star or Champ but I would like to think the same would apply.

    Disc - G star leopard3

Feel - The leopard3 is very comfortable in the hand as it has a very narrow rim and is not very deep. It feels very similar to a regular leopard or a maverick. The disc feels good in my hand for both forehand and backhands. G star plastic is extremely grippy and is fairly durable.

Flight - The leopard3 has a great flight pattern and can be used for a variety of shots. It has extreme glide and while is it under stable it does not turn over very much. The flight reminds me of a maverick more than a leopard because it has a little bit more stability. It will flip up if thrown with a good amount hyzer and then hold dead straight for the rest of the flight with a little bit of finish. If thrown flat or with a little bit of hyzer, it will turn and usually hold that turn until it hits the ground or maybe have a tiny bit of finish.

Overall - The leopard3 is a great disc for all players as it is great for shaping shots in the woods or difficult tunnel shots. It is a great disc that fills the under stable fairway slot in my bag very well.

I primarily drive FH because my BH is significantly weaker. I got the Leopard3(G* 165g) to squeeze every bit of distance out of my BH. It does just that. I can get this out just shy of 300ft which gives me another option on certain tee pads.

I will throw this FH but I also have a Leopard3(Champ Glow 175g) that has a little bit more predictable stability for understable FH shots.

This is a great disc to learn smooth form, either BH or FH.

This disc is great for technical wooded shots as it has a gentle turn early in the flight, flies straight and ends with a predictable slight fade.  I feel like this is one of the most controllable discs in my bag.  The glide is surprisingly long which would make this a great driver for beginners.

This is a straight out of the box beat in star leo3.

Pretty understable but not so much that it's unuseable.

The gstar is perfect for frigid temps as it is still grippy and soft even in the coldest weather.

Gstar is also very durable. Ive hit tons of trees and even chucked some rollers and its held up very well.

Over the last couple of months I've started throwing speed 7 discs again.  For a while I ditched speed 7 discs and just threw Pro Thunderbirds and Firebirds in between my mids and distance drivers since speed 7 discs barely outdistanced my mids.

Now that my form is starting to improve and I'm getting a little more distance I'm starting to like speed 7 discs again.  I've settled in on the Teebird for straight to fade shots (even like the Teebird forehand too).  I've also been trying out a Star TL3, a Pro Leopard, and now a GStar Leopard3 for understable shots.  I picked up a 163g GStar Leopard3 and unfortunately it's a little more understable than I wanted. Both my Teebirds and my TL3 typically outdistance my Pro Leopard so my plan is to try a heavier Gstar Leopard3.  I've thrown at least a dozen different Shrykes in different plastic and weights and I've found once that disc is at 165g or less it seems to be a bit more understable than even a 168g disc.  I'm seeing good distance out of the Leopard3 but it's going too far right. I'm sure my release isn't as smooth as it should be and is partially to blame, however that is not happening with any of the other discs I've mentioned.

I will say though that I think this will make a great driver for my wife who rarely plays.

Easily the best wooded straight shot fairway driver. I like the Leopard3 in GStar because it is grippier and easier to control. This disc can be thrown in many different ways. The primary use of this disc (for me) is the flip up straight shot. When thrown hard with hyzer angle, the disc flips up and goes almost perfectly straight, which is amazing as the straight shot is so useful, yet so difficult. Also, it is understable enough to get turned over or on a flex line.

Great stable to understable disc.  Very versatile, and one of the farthest flying discs in my bag despite its slower speed.  Great for accuracy and tight tunnel shots where a straight flight is needed without giving it much power.
