This is my all time favorite disc.  I'm a predominantly forehand player and this is my go to disc.  If I see a tee and don't know what to throw it's a firebird.  If I just want something reliable it's a firebird.  I got my first one three years ago and it's still in the bag.  I can power this guy on anny and know it's going to flex back and get me 325.  Power up on it for straight shots with reliable fade or power down for very overstable shots.

The Firebird is a disc that needs no preamble. When thrown with any amount of power, this disc will check up and finish, rest assured of that. While Innova's manufacturing process leaves much to be desired in the realm of consistency, Sexton runs are almost always fantastic. This is a disc that is comfortable in the hand in both backhand, and sidearm grips. The Firebird is best thrown into a headwind, allowing it to let its overstability shine by remaining on line and finishing as desired. This disc is so ubiquitous you probably didn't even need to read this review. Someone you know has a Firebird, and they love it. You likely will too.

The firebird is my first ace disc (after chasing for over a year), and I couldn't be happier with its performance. The hole was a short, 200-225 foot dogleg with a tightly wooded gap. I threw a hard, RHFH that skipped off the ground and hit center chains. No doubter.

This disc is perfect for beginners that are still working on angle control. For a dogleg basket that was blind from the tee, I knew that a skip forehand was my only option, especially since I am so new to anhyzer backhands. I've also used the disc as utility, whether I need a spike hyzer, a crazy anhyzer flex shot, or just a skip play of some kind to get close to the basket.

Looking at the numbers, this disc seems that it requires strong amount of arm strength, but I argue that it's only if you are using the disc for maximum drives off of a tee. The Firebird has helped bridge the gaps between that awkward midrange and control driver distance. I would recommend using this disc in a pinch, and as it breaks in, you can then transition to a more reliable control driver, with enough stability to shape any flex shot you need.

The Sexton Firebirds are quite a bit less stable than a regular firebird. Closer to the flight characteristics of a Thunderbird thrown forehand. Good for hyzerflip forehands. But if you're expecting it to be super overstable like a regular Firebird? It wont be.

They can be very touchy discs. Especially in the wind. A very overrated disc in my personal opinion. But try one out for yourself? You may find you like it. A lot of people seem to. That's why I tried one.

I have a terrible forehand and have been actively working on that over the years. This disc is one of the few discs that I have confidence in when it comes to being able to throw a forehand. I don't really use these for backhands as the disc can be extremely overstable and a meat hook, but it is one of the most comfortable discs that I have felt for forehands and it has allowed me to find a disc I can use for them. Sexton firebirds are almost never in stock but are for sure worth it if you are looking for a consistent forehand disc.
