A very overstable disc, as many know, and not something I'd typically recommend to a beginner as a driver. However, it makes a great utility disc for dog leg throws, especially if you've got any ability to throw a forehand. I started out with a Factory Second Champion thinking I'd just try it out and at this point I've got it beat in to the point I know exactly how much anny to put on it for the many wooded courses I play.

I bought a Firebird as something reliable that could withstand the torque on my forehand without having too much turn and it's filled that spot really well. It has consistent strong fade with no turn and often is great for skip shots. What I wasn't expecting was to use this disc on backhand at all, but I've used it quite a bit for spike hyzers when they're necessary, getting over late trees with minimal ground play.

I wouldn't recommend this disc for beginners just as it is sooooo overstable I can't see a beginner finding anything but whatever is so far left you didn't think landing there was a possibility.

I use firebirds and thunderbirds for most of my fairway drivers as they use the same rim and it's the perfect rim for super accurate shots. From what I have seen, the firebird is a much longer hook fade compared to other overstable discs that just dump to the ground. I have 2 firebirds one that is super flat that starts fading right out of the hand and one that has a slight bubble top and is 20 grams less that I can throw a bit farther before the long hook fade.

An awesome utility disc for me. It feels great forehand or backhand but is often too overstable to use for many shots. Frequently I'll throw a thunderbird instead of this but as my throwing speed increases I'm starting to look at this disc more and more. Great for flex shots, distance-control, and skip shots

I am a beginning disc golfer and the Firebird has quickly become one of my favorite discs. Like most beginning throwers, I was having trouble turning my forehands into the ground. I picked up a Firebird after reading reviews here and the disc definitely lives up to its reputation. Throwing RHFH, I can absolutely trust this disc to fade back to center on a quick (but not dumpy!) S-curve. In champ plastic, I can rip this at about a 30 degree anhyzer and trust that it will come back. I've been pushing this disc 300 feet forehand and I'm not getting called up to the big leagues any time soon. The better I become, the better the Firebird becomes. Great disc.

I have a factory second Champion Firebird that I have slowly but surely implementing more and more into my rounds. I really like the feel of the Champion plastic in my hands, and appreciate its added durability on my wooded home course (it has been met head on by a tree on multiple occasions :) ).

The overstability of this disc is extremely useful in headwinds, where you can be confident that it will deliver a consistent fade. The Firebird is a great tool for shaping shots on the fairway, the skip it gives at the end of its flight allows you to bend around obstacles. I am still working to build up my forehand shot power so I can take full advantage of forehand flex shots with the Firebird.

The Firebird is an amazing disc that definitely has a spot in my bag as the overstable fairway driver (and if Nate Sexton stands behind the Firebird, how could you go wrong?? :) )

Like the description says for any new players that are looking to add a more overstable disc in their bag this should be the first one. Very straight to start and a consistent finish at the end of the flight great in all wind conditions and you can't beat the deal getting a factory second one. Also awesome for forehands for anyone skill level.

Have a factory second firebird that has been in my bag since I started playing a few years ago. The plastic is somewhere between champion and star in my opinion. super gummy, swirly and flexible for champion. Love it for spike hyzer approach shots that need to stick where I want. Only weighs 167 grams but the flat top keeps it reliably overstable in all conditions.
