The Star Aviar offers a balanced blend of grip, durability, and consistent feel, making it a dependable choice for both putting and throwing. More durable than DX and slightly less overstable than Champion, the Innova Star Aviar holds its flight shape longer while maintaining a comfortable, tacky feel preferred by many for daily use.

? absolutely fabulous putter. Good for beginners, good for pros. I use it for spin putting and short straight drives.

I have owned several DX and Star Aviar P&As. I find them to be very consistent putter that feels great in the hand. When I decide to play a round with 6 or less discs, I always grab my 175g Star Aviar. I find it to be a great all around disc from putting to out over 200 feet. I will tee up with the Aviar on most holes under about 230 feet. It will go straight, Hyzer, or Anhyzer depending on how you throw it and the angle of release. I find it to be very consistent for putting as well, with a great handfeel and consistent release. I prefer the grip of DX for putting and the durability and stability of Star for driving/upshots. This disc is a cornerstone of the bag for many many players, myself included.

This disc is my favorite putter! I have the Star version and the disc feels excellent in my hands. It flies very straight and I have made my toughest putts with this disc. I prefer this putter over any other putter.

The Aviar P&A is my go-to inside the circle putter. Flies however I want it to, and feels great in my hand! I have a variety of them in all plastics, but use my Star or Champion F2 mostly during rounds.

The aviar one of the best putting putters out there. Throwing one is completely different though. It does have plenty of glide and flies very straight with a slight fade at the end. However, I hate the feel of it when throwing. It is a bit too deep for my hands. I do power grip putters unless I am inside of 225' then I will fan grip. Fan grip felt fine but power grip I just couldn't get the grip I wanted.

It gets three stars because the feel is not good but the flight is very nice. When I did get a good grip on it I had one of my farthest flat ground putter throws (~285 ft). I would stick to using the aviar just for putting and if you need a throwing putter from Innova I would look to discs like the Aviar3 unless you have big hands or only fan grip.

Started playing disc golf with an Innova Starter set, and this disc has been the standard that I compare all putters to. It is the OG, and is my go to putter. The Star plastic version has been great for approaches, one disc rounds at small courses. One of my favorite discs in my bag!

This is my review of the Aviar in Star plastic, used as an approach. I tried to make the Aviar work - played a couple solo rounds with it - but it didn't, and I eventually gave mine to a friend. The main problem is that it's too uncomfortable in my hand; I dislike how the rim is thin and deep; also, when power-gripping, my fingers have to curl up and it's difficult to get a clean release. The secondary problem is that it's too touchy and turns too easily if not released well and it doesn't hold power that well (I think the Whale is slightly better, but I prefer the Nova if I had to go with Innova in this slot. I know the Nova is known as a very touchy disc but I throw it better than the Aviar). I was expecting this disc to fly straight and be my <200 feet approach and it didn't do that for me, and I don't think the flight numbers are correct.

The aviar from Innova was the first putter I ever got and it's never left my bag. I originally picked up 2 dx aviars for putting and at first I thought it was a little too tall for my hands and felt awkward when putting. I felt like I couldn't get a good grip with the small rim but after checking out some other putters at the shop I realized the aviar actually fit perfectly in my hand, and that the problem was my form. Now a year later I wouldn't trust anything else inside the circle. If you stick with it, you can put this thing on any line you want, and its my go to putter. Just point and shoot. Also good for anhyzer putts or tricky putts in the woods. It has great glide on a clean release and the dx plastic catches the chains nicely.

This is one of the most popular putters ever for a reason. I understand why most people will try to get one of these in your hands if you're just starting out as its a great tool for learning proper form. This thing is super neutral and responds to how you throw it.

The star aviar is a little more stable with maybe a touch less glide than the dx. It's money off the tee and you can really float it out there on a good boost. I use this one for approaches and drives, my favorite short range disc. Good form will be rewarded. Great for woods golf.

The Innova Aviar is the putter that all other putters are striving to be. This disc doubles not only as an excellent putter but also as a fantastic approach/ driving disc. It does a fine job of holding an anhyzer line and will sail far with only minimal effort.

I have had a few different plastics types in the Aviar model. I have had the pro, the champion and the star plastics and they are all awesome for putting. for driving they have slightly different tendencies. The pro is my least favorite because it requires the most amount of work for me to get it to where it needs to be.

The champion on the other had has the opposite problem. it tends to fly further than I anticipate while throwing approach shots. My favorite aviar is my star plastic aviar that has been with me for just a few months. It tends to fly right where I want it and at a speed that settles where I want it as well.

I would recommend the aviar to any level of player.

The Star Aviar was the first putter I rountinely used and practiced with. In my experience, the star plastic was not a perfect match for me; it was not the best putter to use in a tailwind or headwind and as a result, I struggled to be accurate with it. I would however agree with other reviewers who have said that it teaches you how to throw straight. This disc can be very straight as an approach disc, but as a putter, I found myself fighting the wind when I felt like I needed a more accurate and firmer putter.

My first putter. All around great disc, theres a reason it's Innovas best selling disc. This is an ideal disc to learn to putt with before you try any other putters, and you might end up just sticking with the Aviar.

This disc has polished my game overall. This disc has taught me how to throw every disc in my bag sooo much more accurately.  This disc will teach you how to throw DEAD STRAIGHT. I use it off the tee on 250ft or shorter holes and on upshots. It is literally point and shoot.

I highly recommend you fan grip this disc. Trying to power grip a stable (not overstable) putter for a precision shot is never going to be consistent.

Pros: Lots of glide, but isn't really beat around in wind unless it's high winds. It does whatever you want it to do such as hyzer, anhyzer and carry over for dogleg holes or go laser beam straight.

Cons: None. It's not the arrow, it's the archer.

The Star Aviar is all about the feels. Feel is important.  Star Aviar feels like thanksgiving dinner without the bloat.  All the warm and fuzzy feeling of crushing 72 foot putts like a boss.  I have big hands and i have a lot of different putters.  The star Aviar is my go to putter.  it flies dead straight or with a little hyzer depending on wind.  always sticks to the chains.  Big Z roach is right behind it but if i have money on the shot its my "S'aviar" for the win.  I  par or birdie every time no matter the distance with this disc it goes wherever you throw straight at.  Plus its fun to let people feel the difference between DX and Star plastic.  DX is great but Star is Stellar.

I putted with many variations of the Aviar for a lot of years and though I have now moved on from using this mold for putting I absolutely love this mold in Star plastic for short drives with tight landing spots. Flies straight, is consistent and sits down pretty well on landing when I need it to.

The Star Aviar is absolutely awesome. If you're looking for a slicker putter that will break in towards a more tackier feeling plastic, pick up a star aviar. At first they are more like a Champion Aviar, offering more stability and durability in the premium plastics at the consequence of much less grip. The Star Aviar is going to be more stable than the soft plastics like an R-Pro Aviar or DX Aviar.

The first putting clinic I ever watched was when Jay "Yeti" Reading rolled through Salt Lake City in his RV. The words that really stuck in my mind was that it doesn't matter how the putter flies as long as it feels really good in the hand. If you put your hand on a putter and think "this feels good, this feels right" then it will give you extra confidence on the putting green to step up and knock down the putt no matter what. The next day I went to my local store and started feeling putters. After a lot of elaboration, I walked out with a Star Aviar. It was the disc that felt the best in my hand.

The Star Aviar was my first ever go-to putter inside the circle. The first video I ever made has beginner me knocking down 30 foot putts with my Star Aviar, before I was close to good at this game.

I have always loved the mold of an aviar, and always felt I would go back to the Aviar once I switched off of it. I never ended up putting an aviar back in my bag, but I did however adopt the P2. The P2 is almost identical feeling to the Aviar, and the difference between the molds is very small. The P2 is now my go-to putter and I know it will be for years to come. I am a fan of Aviar-Like putters and always have been. The Star Aviar is what started it all for me.

A lot of people like this disc, but I'm not a fan. In fact I would give it negative stars if I could as it is my least favorite disc that I have ever owned. I have one in star and a DX one that was given to me by a friend. I, like many people, fell into the trap of "this is the most popular putter in the world" so it has to work right? Wrong. First off, the wizard and judge are more popular (and better) now. Secondly, this is the most inconsistent disc that I have ever thrown and the rim is super uncomfortable. I hate it for driving, approach shots, and, most of all, putting. Sometimes it goes right, sometimes left, sometimes straight, but never the same. I once heard the Aviar described as a drunk person: "it never knows where it's going, but it sure as heck isn't staying where it is", and I would have to agree. This isn't innova hate either as I putt with Colt's and love them. Overall, after trying about ten different putters and always having a wandering eye for discs, there are lots of better options to choose from (With the Colt having cured my insatiable drive to buy more putters). One disc I know I'll never come back to is the Aviar.

Got a 175g Star Aviar after reading about it.  I think all the "hype" about it being the most popular putter is well-justified.  It's a very consistent disc.  It has a bit of fade on it at the end, so it's not my "go to" putter for longer putts (25 feet or more) until I master it, but with some work (on my part) it'll be solid for me.  I also threw it off the tee just to see how it did.  It has pretty good distance (I am by NO means a powerful thrower, btw), but does have that (predictable) bit of fade at the end.  Definitely a good putter to have as my game improves.

Edited to add:  as my form has gotten better, I find myself going to the Aviar for longer and longer approach throws.  It's a really good, reliable disc.  The limited run McPro plastic Avairs are great, also.

I love the durability of the star plastic and throw this off the tee.  I think there is a dedicated Aviar driver out now, but this mold gets it done for me.
