The Champion X-Out Aviar provides the same stiff feel and torque-resistant flight as the stock Champion Aviar, with minor cosmetic imperfections that lower the price. Made from Innova’s most durable plastic blend, the Innova Champion X-Out Aviar resists turn and wear better than baseline versions—making it a reliable option for throwing putters or approach discs that need to maintain their shape over time.

The oldest disc in my bag is a 149g DX I received in the Innova starter kit, and the Aviar is still my only putting putter.

Main putter is a Champion X-out and anything up to 50 feet I'm grabbing it. I don't like Aviars as throwing putters because of the deep rim but as a putting putter I have yet to find anything as reliable. If I need a big slow turnover approach or a long putt I'll grab my beat-up low weight DX and let it glide for days.

I find the Aviar can get really touchy in a head or crosswind putt, in which case I'll go for the Harp, but otherwise this disc is irreplaceable in my bag.

Best putter I've ever used. Flies straight and grabs the chains.

I use two DX bottom stamp aviar P&A's for putting (175g). I find that the bottom stamp ones are a little softer to the touch (plus they look great). The great thing about DX plastic is that the grip stays pretty consistent (unless there's lots of dirt & dust, like in my area-Phoenix). I mainly like DX because it's so versatile. You can spin putt, push putt, or spush putt depending on the situation. I primarily do a spush putt (with a little more spin than push). It holds any line you put on it once it's beaten in (within 35 ft). Not many putters can consistently do spush putts, anhyzer spin putts, uphill push putts like the DX aviar can. It's important to be able to do any type of putt with your putter, because not all holes will be like the practice basket in your backyard.

I have a star aviar P&A (173-5g) for straight, soft approaches. Off the tee, it holds pretty much any line I put on it, with a very subtle fade (or flattening out) at the end of the flight. SO MUCH FUN to throw. Also a great teaching tool to learn smooth backhand form. I've been playing for about 5 months now, and I can get this to about 200-220 feet, straight flight, with barely any fade. Sometimes it flutters and turns right, but that's because i kept the nose too down and my release was off.

In any case, I HIGHLY recommend grabbing a pair of DX aviars for putting, and a star/champion aviar for approaches. You will not be disappointed... unless you don't like the feel of it. The feel is pretty standard, beadless, rounded edge, etc. No as deep as a P2, but deeper than a Luna. Perhaps go to a store and hold a couple, or ask a friend to try one out. Chances are, they have an aviar from a starter set they got many years ago.

Flight ratings (off the tee) are true, if thrown properly.
