First off, I love the I-Blend plastic. This was the first time I played throughout the winter, and this plastic didn't seem at all affected by the cold. Although I've been playing (casually) with Innova discs for years, I only recently started purchasing other discs, including the Sphinx, and it is a winner. I throw RHBH, don't have a rocket arm, so the Sphinx and the Maya quickly became my go to drivers. For me, the numbers are spot on. (BTW, the Infinite Anubis is now my fav fairway/approach disc).

I tried the Sphinx to see if it could replace a Westside Hatchet that I had lost. It is not quite  a drop in replacement for that, it is better. This thing glides for days (just like the Hatchet) but it is a little easier to control. The I-blend plastic seems very durable, it is already holding up to abuse much better than the Tournament plastic from Westside and I feel like this will stay true to the numbers for a while. I'm pretty much just using it BH for long turnover shots and hyzer flips but I was able to put down one super long roller with it on an extreme sky anhyzer. That may become more of its use as it beats in but for now it still has enough fade to try and fight its way back.

I would definitely recommend this to an advancing beginner. If they can get a full flight out of their 6 and 7 speed fairway drivers then they can throw this farther. It is understable but not extremely so. There's a lot that can be learned by throwing this disc and so far it hasn't punished me too harshly on bad throws.

This disc flies a little strange for me...but in a good way.  It has less action in the line as opposed to something like a Valk but it flips a little easier.  I don't think that's how it should be but it's a great disc.  Very accurate and  holds a spot in my bag.

This disc is just plain fun to throw. First off, it is winter in Minnesota, so grippy plastic is essential. The I-Blend is just exactly perfect, very grippy.

The disc itself is very comfortable in the hand.

I've been working on throwing this disc. If you just hit it hard and flat you get a roller. Hit the right hyzer release angle and this thing flies, far, like distance driver far.

I would definitely give this to a beginner. Great disc.

From someone who is relatively new to the sport, let me tell you that if you’re still developing your form or your arm strength, this is the “distance” driver you want. It doesn’t require a tons of strength to get this guy to go far. TONS of glide, and is very predictable. I would imagine if you’ve been playing for a while, that this disc would be great in specific scenarios where you’re looking for that understable feature. I don’t have the arm yet, but I would imagine that if you really ripped this, or had even slight anny on it, it’ll sail on you. But as stated earlier, keep this relatively flat, and with a decent snap, this thing will soar.

If you’re a player with a slower arm speed and looking for a disc to give you the perfect flex shot to maximize your distance, the Sphinx is it! It has a great glide with a predictable turn and fade.

I ordered a "mystery disc" and received a third run G-Blend Sphinx. I didn't have a whole lot of casual playtime or field work with it, but I played a two day tournament a week after getting it and decided to throw it in my bag just for the heck of it...man, am I sure glad I did that!

This disc is a dream. The Sphinx will stand up real nice with a hyzer flip and ride the line for ages before gently settling down on the fairway. With a very small hyzer-to-flat release, it'll flex out and gradually fade back. I could see it being a very good roller, but the course I played had some very thick grass so I didn't get a chance to try it.

All in all, a very good 9 speed disc that has earned a spot in my bag.
