The Maverick has a spot in nearly every player’s bag. The Maverick's smaller rim offers controllable fairway speed and straighter flights for slower arms, with trustworthy anhyzers and slow turns for experienced players. The Maverick is great in the woods with low ceilings and tunnel shots.

I really like the Maverick, though I'd prefer a better plastic type over the Prime Burst (as cool as it looks, and as good as it feels), as I'm concerned it will beat in too quickly. It's easy to grip and release smoothly (due to both the nature of the plastic and the contours of the disc), and you could hardly ask for more of the flight: The numbers seem right to me, and the flight path and distance were comparable to my best existing 6-7 speed drivers. Nothing but good to say about the Maverick!

When I first started throwing fairway drivers, this quickly became my favorite and was my main driver for a while. It is the first disc I hit 300 feet (my max now is about 325 with higher speed discs) and was great for learning hyzer flips and turnover shots once it got beat in and I started throwing farther. It really doesn't fade much even when new, which is really helpful sometimes.

    In my bag I have:

Slightly used opto Maverick: Good for straight shots in the 250-300foot range) and sometimes turnovers

Very used Prime Maverick - Rollers, high turnovers, hyzer flips, overhead throws, etc. It is tough to get a ton of distance with these, but they are great as an understable utility disc for me

One thing to note is that in prime plastic the Maverick changes its flight pattern pretty quickly to be more understable.

Conclusion: This should replace the Escape in Dynamic Discs starter set

A staple to my bag. Lost one the other day and immediately ordered two more. I only have had them in the base plastic, but that's because I want it to beat in because it holds turnover lines like a champ. As a beginner, this is one of the few discs that I can manage to hyzer flip for dead straight shots. Though the main use for this disc in my bag is for turnover shots where I don't think my forehand will work. I can get this disc to keep a slow turn for the entire flight with a flat release. I wish it had more glide in some cases, but otherwise, it's absolutely a must.

It is not a distance driver, but because of the flight of this disc, beginners will find it easy to get it to fly straight with lower arm speeds and find their max distance. I used to use this in the woods a lot when I first started because it flew straight for me. Now that I have started to increase my power, I still use it for straight hyzer flips, but it's a turnover disc for sure!

Would highly recommend for beginners, especially those with small hands (guilty), as you begin to improve your backhand. I find the fade out at the end to be a little less than what it says, however this is valuable as you lean upon this disc at the start of your disc golf journey.

That being said, the awkwardly sized rim and general under stability will quickly lead to this disc being taken out of the bag once you develop some consistency. I now lean on a Innova Leopard for a more natural feeling, similar performing disc.

very easily controlled, can definitely be used as a distance driver. My main throw is a back hand with moderate amount of power with a hyzer release, it flips up within 50'-75' and bombs straight. I find  if I release it straight with good power it will have a nice 200'-300' S flight path, turning and fading around the same distances, reminds me a little bit of my Gstar & star Leopards. Very good disc for all skill levels!

As a beginner, I picked up this disk as part of a Dynamic Discs Prime Burst Starter Set.  After now playing for several months, this disc is still my favorite.  It's been the most predictable for me, especially when in the woods and just trying to hit a gap and not go for power.  I have since picked up a Maverick in Lucid plastic, but that one seems more overstable.  My Prime Burst Maverick is now beat in a bit, but seems to fly even better.  I guess that's a thing?  Much to learn.  Definitely recommend this disc, especially for beginners.

The Maverick is a great disc for someone looking to get good distance or trying to learn to throw hyzer flips. Although it is 7 speed this disc is capable of going far!! Has a pretty predictable turn on every shot with a slight fade at the end

This disc is beginner friendly, but not necessarily a "noob" friendly. But most fairways aren't. I get the flight of a nice broken in escape with this fresh out of the box. Has a late turn and i have yet to turn it completely over yet with good form. I throw the matchplay fuzion bursts  more and love them, but i prefer that plastic usually. Thrown with hyzer a left finish is possible. Id try one out if your not throwing 400 on the reg

I got this disc from the Match Play challenge and it immediately made my bag and kicked out my Leopard. It has a very similar flight to a Leopard but just a bit more stable and can take a bit more power without turning and burning. It has been great for the mountain courses and uphill shots. If thrown flat with the nose angle matching the angle of the slope it just goes strait up hills. It has become the disc I reach for whenever I need to hit a gap and keep going strait. It also has glide for days and can get some sneaky distance. I play in Colorado so my ratings may be a bit more stable than most will experience.
