The Westside Discs Destiny is an understable super-high-speed driver. Two things are undeniable about this disc - speed and glide. This beauty really gets out there. For the higher arm speeds, a powered down throw will still get out to great distances. For the lower arm speeds, this will be your long-range bomber. Everyone can find a way to throw the Destiny. You will just have to walk a long way to go pick it up.

On open courses with long holes, you won't need another disc from the pad.

On forested courses or short courses, you can leave this disc in your trunk.

Absolutely excellent disc if you live in an arid/semi arid region with lots of long and open courses but I wouldn't recommend this disc for much else. It's wonderful at what it does though, hence the 5 stars.

After a day of testing, I have found the Destiny to be a good disk for someone that is looking for more distance in tailwind or low wind situations.  I usually drive around 300' with various discs and I try not to throw anything over a speed 10.  The Destiny seems to be friendly to people in my range.  It does have a ton of glide and always seems to want to swoop forward to give you a little more.  I usually have trouble getting discs up to speed above a 10 but the Destiny was an easy thrower.  I had a couple of throws over 340 which is unusual for me.  I also tested the disc out in a headwind and that was definitely a no-go.

I would say that if you are controlling your drives pretty well and are looking for a faster disc to try and throw on holes where distance is a premium, this would be a good place to start.  On a side note, It had some turn and flex, but not uncontrollable.  I felt like unless the fairway was really narrow, or OB was looming, this could find a reasonable landing zone without much worry.  I would give it 4 1/2 stars due to its hatred of headwind, but hey, I do like that Westside plastic.

The Tournament Destiny at 173g is my farthest flying disc. In a tailwind and longer than 350 to the basket... this plastic in this mold is what I run to. I have 2 Tournament Destiny's in my bag. One is slightly more stable than the other but I still wouldn't recommend throwing in a headwind unless you are looking for a long flying anhyzer... in that case, rip away into a headwind a watch it flip up to flat and turn forever. I throw this disc in this plastic whenever I can and over my other 2 destiny's in different plastics. My favorite aspect of the Tournament Destiny is that no matter how far it turns... it always fades if it has enough air.

I can't recommend this disc highly enough! I own the Destiny in VIP, moonshine, and tournament plastic. The tournament plastic is by far my favorite.

This disc adds easy distance and glides for days. It performs hyzer flips and turnovers beautifully.

I was a little gun shy to get this disc, but boy I’m glad I did. Thing is a bomb, and for me I can get a long sweeping s curve with this thing. I can throw this further than any other disc I’ve tried.

I'm a RHBH player averaging about 300' and maxing at 350'.  Somehow I've managed to throw a destiny 400' BUT I have successfully lost 4 destinys because they flipped when they weren't supposed to (ie splash). So, I didn't bother getting a new one but after a couple of tournaments where I missed birdie ops because I couldn't throw far enough with my trespass or sheriff or terns, I restocked.  Destinys bomb on flex shots (forehand or backhand) when there is absolutely no wind. Never ever throw it flat into a headwind or a left to right. Unless of course you want a turnover and it's a gentle breeze. A moderate breeze will turn it into a cut roller.  Also they are a little finicky if you get the nose up.

When you need to flex around a tree in the middle of the fairway and you need to get max distance, AND its dead calm, pull out a destiny and watch it soar. . Ps when thrown with good form, I'd give both tournament and VIP plastic less fade than advertised (2ish).

I bought this disc based on several of the reviews.  I was typically throwing air bolts for max distance, but as soon as I tried the Destiny I was sold.  I don't have a huge arm, but this will get me as far or farther than my bolts.  The thing I like about it most is that it comes back better for me than my bolts typically do, which usually means better accuracy for me.  It also seems to handle a small wind better than my bolts.  All in all, I have been extremely happy with this disc and will probably try it out in different weights and plastics.

This disc bombs. but is very touchy. The only time im throwing this is when I have a LONG way to go and placement matters not one bit. I'm not sure if its just the rim width, or this speed 14 but it is tuff to control for myself. Maybe a bigger arm would have better control, but I cannot fathom a new player having any success with the disc. As much as I want to bag it, is is a liability to my scores outside of casual  rounds.

Stelly hit this one on the head for beginner-friendliness. The wide rim would probably be too much for a beginner but intermediate and up players will love the destiny. A little out-of-character for most Westsides that I've thrown, the Destiny is true to its numbers. It is a very fast, glidey bomber that doesn't disappoint on the "S" factor.

I've had two over the last couple years and I come and go on my love for the disc. As my arm speed has increased (not much but still) the Destiny has gotten a little more unpredictable for me. It was once my go-to driver for long, open holes but I have started to lose the S and turn it over more and more. Also, it loves tailwinds and HATES headwinds.

I highly recommend taking a look at the Destiny if you are an intermediate, amateur or higher level that have low-to-medium arm speeds as your primary bomber.

Ok, so even so it's understable, it is not beginner friendly. I never recommend 2.4 rim discs for beginners. If you want a bomber for a field to show off to your friends on, then look no further! But for rounds, this thing is inconsistent. Mine's a little flippy, but I can correct that with a little hyzer release no problem. When I do this, I can get a solid 20+ feet more than any other driver I've ever thrown no problem. The numbers aren't a myth on this thing. It is fast, and glides more than any other Westside disc and is among the fastest on the market, but for high speed arms this thing will flip over and won't fight back out of it. Learn how to use it, and it bombs like you won't believe, but be careful with it.

Don't be afraid of the speed rating.  This disc has a great combo of turn and glide.  The tournament plastic wears in well, like innova star plastic.  Easily, the longest disc I've ever thrown... (I've used it so much I have to throw at a hyzer to get it to go straight. I guess its time to order a replacement.)  Don't use in the wind!  My other drivers average around 300 feet.  With this one I average closer to 340.

I'm not a big arm, but I can really bomb this disc. It's a bit thinner in the hand than the King or Queen in my hands, thus more comfortable. I dont throw it often, but if the risk - reward is there, I'll pull it out and go for it!

I'm an intermediate, forehand dominant player and liked this disc fresh out of the box. Thrown with a slight hyzer flip, it tips up nicely into a moderate s-shot with plenty of glide. At 172g, the distance was very good - approaching my maximum when my technique was good, and reasonably forgiving when it wasn't. Turn seemed a bit stronger than the -2 rating.

This disc looks intimidating because of the 14 speed, but I feel the actual speed is WAY less, more like a 10-12.  That being said, I would not pick up this disc unless you can throw 300-350 avg on your drives.

My experience (all discs above 172g in tournament, everything RHBH):

I get great distance, glide, and control from this disc.  Wind does not affect this disc as much as my other drivers.  It is hard to describe how this disc flys.. but I will try:

No wind:  You throw it flat, it stays flat, tracks to right *note: does not flip over, just stays flat to the right* and fades hard at the end.  The disc really likes a "snap".

Headwind:  Same as no wind, but you get more turn *note: still doesn't flip over*, with a little less fade.

Tailwind: I don't throw this in a tailwind, but IMO it throws like a 176g star wraith (new).

I rated this disc a 3.5 fade as a new disc.  Break it in, and it has a much less agressive fade.

TLDR:  Great distance, glide, and flex/control disc.  It shapes lines around trees predictabily, but will never not fade back.

Many discs that are claimed to be bombers don't live up to they hype.  The Destiny... absolutely does and then some.  The glide on this disc is tremendous.  The turn and fade are reasonably close to the numbers, some turn and some fade back.  The Destiny can be flippy in a headwind, but otherwise flies very well.  The grip does not feel as wide as a speed 14 disc... more like a speed 12-13 disc, and is comfortable for my hands.

To start i dont have a big arm at all 300-325 is my average drive, when i first picked up my TP destiny 173g i couldnt figure it out, it turned an burned into a roller. so it stayed hidden in my bag for a while, the other day doing some field work i decided to throw it some more, and i finally mastered the hyzer flip and this became my furthest flying disc by 60-80 feet. i broke 400 ft for the first time. so if i have the room to let it flip to flat and ride the turn, and still fade out a little this is my choice!

I received my Destiny in the mail a couple days ago, a black 169 gram in Tournament Plastic with the Infinite Discs stamp.  I hit a 360 foot ace on my first round with it!  Needless to say it's staying in the bag! I don't have too much to report on it other than it's definitely understable, much like a MVP Wave, which I love.

This disc BOMBS!  This has beat out all others in my bag for my go to distance driver.  I am a RHFH thrower and I will release this with a hyzer and let it flip into the horizon, it just carries forever!  Since I have started throwing this disc, on the bigger holes at my local course, instead of laying up after the tee shot, I'm able to get aggressive for a 2 because of the extra 30-40 feet this disc gives me.  It is very accurate too, the line I throw is right where it lands.  If you have some huge holes that are fairly wide open, this is the only disc you need off the pad.  Its great with and also into the wind with a little more hyzer.

Picked this disc up and I am not sorry I did. It has become my primary backhand distance driver. It simply flies further than any of my other discs. It does not seem to require as much power as other high speed discs, so I think it is less than the 14 speed listed.

The fade is nice and predictable. The glide is very high, and because of that I don't recommend throwing into the wind because your disc will very easily glide upward. This disc seems to be very sensitive to the amount of hyzer / anhyzer you add to your throw. Use less than you might normally require for the situation. Perhaps that is also because of the high glide?

Threw my first Ace with this disc on a short 300 foot hole.

The Destiny is a great bomber disc for beginners, those players that don't "snap" when throwing, and someone looking for a great disc to anhyzer. I tend to throw this disc on holes that I need to have a big flex around some trees or a corner but always finish back left (RHBH). I also will throw this on a wide-open distance drive that allows for a big flex.

With the amount of glide on this disc, it can easily be a max-distance driver. On the big flex shots, it maintains its speed throughout almost the entire flight.

    7/5/17 UPDATE:

This is back in my bag.  What this disc is great at is for shaping long drives.  When I want a drive to finish more to give me some good turn but flex out at the end, this is perfect.  I get LONG distance with this, especially in a tail wind, this thing BOMBS.  At this point the VIP and Tourney plastics fly the same, with the tourney getting just smidgen more turn out of it.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW

Profile: Thick rim but thin disc.  Great feel.

Flight: BIG S turns out of this disc. You will need room for it to work.  I found it more understable than advertised.

    Comparison: More understable Tern.

Final thoughts: I use this disc only when I need to shape a long S turn. I never got maximum distance out of it, I found the Knight to be longer.  If you have a wooded course then this might make your bag.  I find I only use it maybe once a round on a specific hole. The VIP has a bit more fade than the Tournamet I'd say the VIP #'s are 14, 5, -3, -3.

My new backhand distance driver! I LOVE the Destiny!! I got mine as part of the Infinite Disc VIP series and almost didn't throw it (as it has a custom stamp with only 300 pressings.) But fortunately I did, and I would GLADLY trade any future value this disc may have accrued for being able to enjoy it on the course the way that I have.

SUPER STRAIGHT FLYER. I am not a high speed arm (probably speed 10) so this bad boy stays absolutely dead straight for me and does not turn/fade much at all. I can push this thing about 375 feet in a very narrow lane, and that style of throw suits my game perfectly.

If you are like me, and prefer accuracy without sacrificing power, than this is the disc to maximize your distance without widening your lane.

Easily my fav primary backhand driver to date! I will keep a Destiny stocked in my short bag for every round.

Just got this yesterday from infinite' vip club.  This is the first high speed driver of any speed that has worked for my medium to slow arm speed.  The first throw went 30 ft past a basket I struggle to reach with a good tailwind and it was dead calm today.  This disc fits perfectly in my small hands, we're talking the burger King commercial here.  I would say it's even easier to throw than the king, which I can throw, but the king is much harder to control.  The destiny came out of the hand smooth, took a nice turn right and a good forward fade left, no dump offs with this disc.  The only problem I'm going to have is throwing past baskets with this thing.  Would compare it to a faster escape and recommend it to anyone who has maxed that disc's potential and looking for their max distance driver.

This is my go to disc for almost all distance drives. I have a medium strength arm and this disc is very reliable and flips beautifully when I need it to.

The grip is easy to work with and it breaks in really well in both the VIP and Tournament plastics. Though it says speed 14, for intermediate players it feels more like a predictable 12. A great disc for small to mid size arms getting used to high speed drivers.

Wowza! I got the destiny somewhat on a whim to supplement my dwindling high speed driver lineup. I was very pleasantly surprised!

Im not power thrower but regularly hit 350-400 with my prodigy D3s and D4s. The Destiny instantly added 50ft. Throwm flat it has a massive S turn that got me out around 450. With a hyzer flip I got dead straight flight and was pushing 400 and a bit over.

What i find amazing about the destiny is that its easy to hyzer flip but at the same time i feel safe putting some anny on it and trust it will come back left for me. Excellent disc!

VIP Destiny 171g - Initial thoughts after a round with this disc at roughly 4,500' elevation: It's long and easy to throw and it just made the bag. It flies a little more over stable than most of the current run Bolt's and King's that I've used(with the exception of the pop-tops). If I put a lot of power into it, I definitely had to add some hyzer so it wouldn't flip and roll but that's perfect for my style of play. I didn't throw too many crushes with it in the limited time that I had it but I definitely threw it past 400-420' a few times without too much effort. This will be great for slower arms that want a nice glidey disc and will be a long hyzer-flip bomber for the medium arm speeds and a really long turnover or roller for big arms. I'd say the numbers are pretty true. I have yet to test in Tournament plastic.

I got the chance to try out a 169g TP Destiny today. Long story short--This disc flies for days! It glides very well, and I think it is a great distance disc for newer arms who are having a hard time getting max distance with other high speed drivers. If I released it on a steep hyzer it would pop up and turn over, but it almost always would fight back at least a little bit near the end of the flight. I would be curious to try one that is just a little bit heavier as well. My go to driver has been the King, but some of the newer ones have been too understable for me, so I was curious about the Destiny. I think this may still be too understable for my liking, but still a very solid disc. Like I said, it goes so far, and if I had a hole that was pretty open without any OB to the right, this disc would be great. However I would be too worried about it turning over on me if there was any OB to the right or a headwind.

I was throwing a 168g Tournament Destiny at about 4,500 feet elevation. I was really excited to the throw the Destiny when I first heard about it, it didn't dissapoint! Out of the three new Westside molds, the Destiny was closest to what I was expecting. It is a fast disc (14 speed), with great glide, and quite a bit of understability. I would compare the Destiny to a Tern, stable King, stable Frost Bolt etc. It will turn over, but has a controllable amount of stability.

The Destiny is great for all types of shots; hyzer flips, turnovers, rollers, or even hyzer forehands. I think the Destiny could be a great disc for all levels of disc golfers. It is very fun to throw and is a great level of stabilty (at least at this elevation). I would highly recommend trying out the Destiny.

If you are a moderate power player who wants a disc that will give you max distance, the Destiny just might set a new distance record for you. This disc bombs. I'm on the weaker end of power compared with most people I play with, and feel good about 300 foot drives. The Westside King is my go to distance driver.

My brand new 169g Destiny is slightly more overstable than my Kings. (Now Kings are bad discs to use as "compares with" because I know some Kings are incredibly flippy while others are quite overstable). When I get a level throw just right with the Destiny, it goes straight for a little bit, flips right and glides forever and then fades back to the left for the perfect S-Curve distance. When I don't get my timing right on my throw for optimal power, this disc hyzers out left for me more easily than my Kings would. I'd say the Destiny will be the perfect stability for me when I play at lower elevations where my Normal discs get too flippy.

My first round playing with the Destiny I even got a 300+ foot field ace. Now how can you not like a disc that does that?

Boy is this disc a bomber!  After my first throw I knew this was an awesome disc.  I guess I'll compare it to the Colossus, since that's a recent disc I tried out and it has quite similar numbers.  The Colossus was pretty overstable, and I'd say the Destiny is too, but now without some awesome turn first.  When thrown at full power and released flast, this disc holds a nice anny line for quite some time before slowly rolling back towards it's fade.

When thrown on a hyzer line, it holds it perfectly- the glide stretching it's distance.

I had one of the longer drives of my life with this disc, it was around 400 feet (from a stand still).  The Glide is amazing, and probably what gets it the extra distance.  While the fade is strong, it continues falling forward, strecthing your distance out.

I'd say if the Colossus was a little too overstable for you, or you're looking for a high speed disc that has a slight flip- look no further.  I'd rate this disc as true to it's flight numbers, for what it's worth.  Great disc!
