The Westside Discs Destiny is an understable super-high-speed driver. Two things are undeniable about this disc - speed and glide. This beauty really gets out there. For the higher arm speeds, a powered down throw will still get out to great distances. For the lower arm speeds, this will be your long-range bomber. Everyone can find a way to throw the Destiny. You will just have to walk a long way to go pick it up.

It bombs. Moderately understable and when given some height will flex out. Got this one out to about 470'. It flies like a slightly more understable Pharaoh. Given the plastic though, I know it beats in to be incredibly understable. Almost all of trilogy plastic gets real flippy. This disc flies like an overstable disc that has already been beaten in. Easy distance but not trusty in the wind or when trying to hit lines. Need some space for this disc to show it's potential.

When I lived at high elevation this was my go to bomber disc, this disc has super done and easy turn with a surprising finish / fade at the end of the flight.

I used a 175g VIP Destiny to win the 2021 Pro Masters Worlds distance competition for the MP55 division (I'm 57 years old). 491' air shot.

This disc BOMBS if you throw it right, but it's definitely super flippy when you crank on it, so treat it with care.

Significantly less stable as I would have expected - but probably a nice starting distance driver for slower arms! For a stronger arm - roll for days!

I love this disc! Basically my entire bag is Innova except for this one. The Desitiny was given to me as a gift but it has become a staple in my bag for its late turn. I can trust it for some big hyser flip shots thanks to the late turn. I might have a slightly lighter disc but it feels good in the hand too!

This is definitely a specialist disc.  In most scenarios, it's not very consistent, but if you either have a tailwind or no wind while playing, and a long, open fairway in front of you, the Destiny is probably the closest thing it gets to cheating extra distance out of your throw.  It's very fast, and has an easy turn to it, but still a very stable finish.  The only problem is, with anything more than say a 5mph headwind or crosswind, it might just never fight out of its turn, and burn into the ground. Proclivity to turn and burn aside, the Destiny's speed is not quite as fast as say, a Ballista Pro, but a hair faster than Destroyers and Shrykes.  Its glide is every bit the 6 that is advertised. With the knowledge of when to use it, the Destiny just might get you new distance milestones.

When this disc works it is one of my favorites but its not super consistent for me sometimes it will fly like my most understable discs but other than thoes few throws it will go very far and if it weren't for my beast I'd throw this disc more often.

I bought this disc based on several of the reviews.  I was typically throwing air bolts for max distance, but as soon as I tried the Destiny I was sold.  I don't have a huge arm, but this will get me as far or farther than my bolts.  The thing I like about it most is that it comes back better for me than my bolts typically do, which usually means better accuracy for me.  It also seems to handle a small wind better than my bolts.  All in all, I have been extremely happy with this disc and will probably try it out in different weights and plastics.

Bought this disc from the good reviews. I am a beginner and it's good distance driver for me since it's understable. Was nervous at first since it is a 14 speed driver and wasn't sure if i should even bother. At first it will go left, but after some breaking in and getting use to, it has become much straighter.

Oh wow! Why didn't I know about this one sooner? The Destiny is kicking out other molds for the maximum distance spot in the bag.  I backhand it flat (in low wind conditions) and forehand with a hyzer; and, either way, it goes far and finishes pretty straight.  Is it the "speed" or the "glide"?  ...I don't know... it just goes farther and it is controllable distance. My hyzer flips look like lazer beams. I do sometimes use them in the woods not for short tight tunnels but for medium width long alleys. In Vip plastic, I don't think of this mold as being harder to control than others in its class. However, I have had less luck with the Tournament plastic ones.

Update. After many months, I still find this to be the best MAX distance driver- the best compromise between distance and control in low wind conditions. It just goes farther than the others.

This is my farthest flying disc by leaps and bounds. Of course the distance comes with a price. Doesn't do that well in windy conditions and if you are off your line, you will really be off your line with the distance that comes with this disc. No wind or tail wind situations I don't believe there is a farther flying disc on the market. Also, I believe the biggest difference in plastic type to disc performance in the market is between Westside's VIP and their Tournament plastic. Not a bad thing but really makes a difference in the disc stability. VIP is much more stable than Tournament. If you are maxed out at 350' and want to get closer to 400' do yourself and favor and pick one up. Don't let the 14 speed  stop you it throw so very easy.

The VIP Destiny is by far my farthest disc in my bag. Most of my longest throws have come with this disc. My drives typically max out between 300-350 with this being the only disc I have been able to pretty consistently get past 350. I really only use it for long open drives on non windy days but in the right conditions this thing bombs. Don't let the 14 speed scare you away from this disc.

VIP (metal flake) 175g: This has become my furthest distance disc in ideal conditions (low wind / tail wind). It is more understable than I expected from the metal flake but will always fade at the end of its flight if I throw it correctly. I always throw this disc with hyzer and power and it reliably flips at a slow rate and will continue to turnover to annhyzer. This disc zooms.

Tournament 174g: V. Understable. Its super freakin flippy and I only consistantly throw this disc uphill. Have dropped a few throw-llers that worked out much better than expected.

Summary: THIS. DISC. BOMBS. If you're an intermediate player like me, who struggles at times with distance, this disc can be your best friend. For reference, my average drives are around 300 feet. Not the case with the Destiny. I have no trouble getting my 165g, VIP Destiny out to 350+. I even parked a 450 foot downhill hole a couple of times.

    Pros:

    • Unparalleled distance for anyone that isn't a touring professional.
    • Pretty comfortable rim for a 14 speed disc.
    • Flight ratings are accurate, if you have the distance to get a full flight path.

    Cons:

    • Don't try this disc in a headwind (ever). You'll probably turn and burn.
    • Pretty touchy. You have to get a high, slight hyzer release out very time, or you'll risk throwing an accidental roller.
    • Sometimes it's annoying to watch everyone on your card throw once or twice before they get to your lie.

This disc is the farthest flying disc in my bag.  Thrown flat you’ll see a long S flight with a ton of glide.  I also like this disc for long turnover drives where I have to get right to left and stay left(I’m LHBH). Bigger arms probably won’t get much use out of this disc due to its under stability but intermediate arm speeds ready to try a high speed driver will probably really like this one.

One of my farthest flying discs. my go to for Giant turn over shots. When thrown properly watching this thing shew up distance is a joy. However there was a steep learning curve for me with this disc. I have found its defiantly more about finesse than arm speed. Honestly i rarely have a large amount of confidence in my shot when im reaching for this disc unless its a hole I have used it on regularly. Its ability to absolutely crush and maneuver some big any shots make it a must in my bag.

Looking for a long distance bomber? You've found it! I have 3 of these discs. 2 VIP and 1 Tournament plastic. The tournament plastic is way more flippy (as it usually is) than the VIP.

The rim is definitely not a 14 size. Maybe a 12 at best. Throws like a 12 speed too.

Has tons of glide! This things will sail for days.

Turns really good to the right (RHBH) but it will always come back with that 3 fade. Beware of head winds though, this will turn and not come back at all in headwinds.

First disc to help me break 400ft finally.

Try one. You'll probably love it. A dude I played with in a tournament went immediately and got 2 of these following the 2nd round at the little disc shop tent on site...  he wanted something more flippy than his destroyers and he was in awe each time I threw my destiny because of the distance I was getting.

Add me to the list of folks who have gotten more distance from the Destiny than any other driver out there. I especially like that it requires some finesse, and is actually a good driver for working on form. After I dialed it in, was was getting big sweeping turns out of it, with some fade at the end, which I estimate at -2.5 and 2 respectively.

Alot of Glide! This disc can really surprise me from time to time. Great high speed shot shaper. Nice S turn disc for long open backhand shots. Great disc to throw forehand anyhyzers or rollers. I let some friends throw the destiny and it usually outdrives their go-tos. Great disc for high elevation play 5000ft and Above. Buy one.

Absolutely love this disc. First disc i was able to reach 400 feet with. You can hyzer flip for really long straight runs or lay it flat to s curve a big bomb. Just dont put it too high or your distance will suffer. NOT FOR WINDY CONDITIONS!!! It will turn and burn in a head wind. I have bought three of these, staple in my bag.

When I first bought this disc I could throw other drivers about 325 feet and now with this I am pushing 400 feet. I was concerned about the throwability of this disc because I have small hands but this rim reminds me more of a speed 12 driver rather than a 14; it is very comfortable in the hand. I don't throw this disc in any intense wind due to the high glide which causes the disc to get blown off course easily. Definitely my favorite max distance driver I have thrown so far.

Ive almost outgrown this disc but at 175g VIP unbeaten in it's my goto as long as there's not a head wind. The rim is fairly comfortable. As far as width goes it feels like a 12 speed similar to a Innova Tern. Glide for days. If you tend to throw hyzers this is a good disc. Thrown flat it will likely turn and burn depending on your arm speed. If you're moving up into high speed drivers this is the best disc to buy in my opinion.

I throw RHBH and average 300 ft on my drives.  I have a 169 Tournament and 173 VIP.  I can't tell a difference between them and they are my new go to disc for controlled distance.  My previous driver was a Sheriff. The Sheriff flies straight for me for about 250 then ends with a pretty hard 30 foot fade that making it harder to keep in play.  I still use the Sheriff for 5-10 mph headwinds and for side arms, But the Destiny is easier to control with similar/greater distance due to straighter flight.  Usually this disc flips up and just holds the line, sometimes with slight turn.  With a 3-5 mph headwind or slight anhyzer, I can throw this 350-375, but usually with no wind and focusing on accuracy, it's 300-325.  The reason I like this disc is I can throw it low to the ground, so it's less effected by slight winds and it just glides forever making it easier to keep in bounds on long holes with OB on both sides.  Previously, to get more distance, I either had to throw the Sheriff a little higher with a slight anhyzer or try to hyzerflip a Renegade.  I also have been throwing a Bolt.  The Destiny has slightly less glide and distance than the bolt, but holds up better in a small headwind and I don't lose it right with bad form like the Bolt.

I found this disc un-inked and had never heard about it, so I had no idea what I'd get with my first throw. Seeing the flight numbers I had a general idea, but I have nearly every Innova disc with similar numbers and sort of expected similar results. WOW. I couldn't believe how far it went. Nothing Innova makes flies like this disc... not that I've tried anyway. It's exactly what Westside claims. If you throw in the 350 range, this will be the longest most controllable disc in your bag. If you're a newbie, it will be the first disc you throw over 300. It can pretty much do it all. I anticipate this will soon be a disc virtually everyone carries... pros and newbies alike.

The Destiny is one of the longest drivers on the market today, and I've tried pretty much everything going back over a decade. It combines good speed and neutral flight with outstanding glide. The Destiny is one of the best gliding discs I've ever seen.

Very mellow overall flight. It'll turn over somewhat and then fade very slightly at the end of flight. I guess the discs I'd compare to the Destiny are the Shryke, Vulcan and King. The Destiny is almost like a King, but a hair more stable/consistent. I prefer it for calm or slightly downwind conditions. The Destiny will get knocked around by headwinds and I really wouldn't recommend it for any drive where a really tight line is needed. Its more of an open shot bomber.

I highly, highly recommend this disc to anyone looking to bump their distance drives up in length noticeably. Its very easy to throw and pretty much any player will notice distance gains. I suppose the only (slightly) negative thing I could say about the Destiny is it can be inconsistent/flippy if your form is off, and it isn't ideal for windy days.

I'm not kidding when I say there are only a handful of other driver models out now that can touch the Destiny for sheer distance capability.

There is a reason for the hype for this disc. It's accurate and can go a mile. I am primarily a FH thrower but more often than not I have been throwing this disc BH just as far as my FHs. Not to say a disc is going to automatically make you better, but with a little field work I have drastically improved my BH game with this 169 VIP Destiny. As my form improves this thing just goes deeper and deeper. I use it for big BHs, dead straight FH shots, FH rollers... not a one trick pony if you learn the disc well. I'd say its very beginner friendly but no high speed drivers should be very beginner friendly. This should be many ppls first high speed driver though! I'd say its closer to a 11-12 than 14. Medium arms can get a nice S. Big arms could hyzer flip for ridiculous distance.

This disc gets down the fairway fast. It does have a nice s curve motion if you can get the disc up to speed. The glide on this disc is unreal. I wouldn't recommend throwing this without some open fairway to aim at because of the s curve motion. It needs room to get the glide and distance this disc is capable of. This disc is very controllable as long as you don't overpower the disc.

VIP 169. This is a good disc, but it didn't beat out my other distance drivers. I'd say it's very similar to my TP sword. It hits some great lines and can really go far. However, for me it did not beat out my stable king or my stable vulcan. I'd have no problems having this disc in my bag or using is as my max distance driver though.

For sheer distance there might not be anything out now that will match the Destiny. Outstanding speed and glide, and it can handle big rips without totally flipping over. Obviously you can compare this disc to the King, but I liked the Destiny better. Slightly more high speed stability, which kept the Destiny in the air better without flipping over.

This could be anyone's longest driver in calm or downwind conditions. IMO not stable enough for headwind use though. Fairly straight flight. Not a lot of S curve, and it has only a gentle late fade.

This has been my go-to distance driver for weeks now. I have a medium arm strength and, to be a 14 speed disc, it flips to flat or turns over just a little every time. I normally throw speed 10 or 11 discs but this one works well for me. Westside typically always runs less stable than their numbers indicate so i imagine the -2 turn helps get this fast disc out there for me where as I could never throw a chamption speed 14 disc in, let's say, Innova. I recommend this disc for moderate beginners to advanced players. Total new players should stay away because it does take some arm speed to get a speed 14 disc to cooperate regardless of the -2 turn. I have had this disc remain hyzer and not flip flat in a strong tail wind before.

They should have considered calling this disc "The Politician" for how easily it flip flops.

On a serious note, without throwing it, I had hopes this would be a slightly more stable King. It's less domey, has a higher parting line, and a very similar feel when compared to the King. After throwing it, I'd liken it to a more understable King. While when thrown at full power, Kings typically land left of center for me, assuming I'm releasing it flat and not throwing into a headwind. The Destiny never finished left of center; even when I gave it tons of height to work with. Don't get me wrong, this disc may work perfectly as a situational type disc for some, and it may stretch out drives for people with lower power and/or spin; but considering I rarely break out The King because of how understable it can be, I couldn't see a practical use for this disc in my bag. I'll leave it at "if The King was a bit too much for you, this may be a disc you should try out."
