The Prodigy F7 is a very understable fairway driver that is great for beginners. This medium-speed driver is available in Prodigy’s 400 series plastic and utilizes Easy Release technology. Prodigy recommends this disc for recreational players, turnover shots, and rollers.

Please note that the F7 was originally released as a 7 speed disc, but in 2023 Prodigy updated the numbers to reflect what they felt was a more accurate flight.  There was not a physical change to the mold, but that's why there may be differences in the numbers stamped on the disc.

    400G Spectrum Details

400G Spectrum is a "Special Effects" plastic by Prodigy. This plastic is by far the most unique of the prodigy blends. It is similar to 400G, However it is much swirlier. Prodigy 400 G plastic is the base 400 plastic mixed with another resin that gives the plastic a slightly different feel. This additive makes the disc more durable and grippier.

My Flight Ratings: 7/5/-3/1 Very Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

As an intermediate player a disc like the F7 sounds like it will be very hard to use and just not a great addition to the bag. I can tell you that I was completely wrong and the F7 made my bag and has a spot in it for a very long time. For reference, I throw around 400 ft for a big distance shot if I can get a big rip and average around 360 on golf lines. My friend gave me an F7 he found unmarked and I immediately fell in love with it. This disc is the easiest hyzerflip to turnover disc I have ever thrown, you can throw it at like 60% and get a full flight out of it. I am able to throw very easy rollers if I have a low ceiling and don't want to try and get a faster disc down on a roller angle. I think for me this disc shines on my forehand, I do not have the best forehand out there but I am confident in it up to about 320 ft. The F7 is the perfect turnover disc and hyzer flip forehand disc in the woods. You can trust it on a lot of hyzer to flip up and over and if you have enough height and space you can get some fade at the end of the flight. I could see many beginners loving this disc as it will help them get easy distance and they will see how discs should fly at an early stage in their game. If you are not a smooth player in both forehand and backhand you will not be able to throw this disc well, but if you try to learn it, it will teach you how to throw with some touch. I think the F7 is probably looked at as a terrible disc in a lot of peoples eyes if they are intermediate or above but they are looking past a gem in the Prodigy lineup.
