The Prodigy F7 is a very understable fairway driver that is great for beginners. This medium-speed driver is available in Prodigy’s 400 series plastic and utilizes Easy Release technology. Prodigy recommends this disc for recreational players, turnover shots, and rollers.

Please note that the F7 was originally released as a 7 speed disc, but in 2023 Prodigy updated the numbers to reflect what they felt was a more accurate flight.  There was not a physical change to the mold, but that's why there may be differences in the numbers stamped on the disc.

This is a great understable fairway driver. It is comfortable in the hand. The 400 plastic, which is what I prefer, is durable, has good grip, and isn't too stiff or too gummy. As far as the flight goes, this is a great option for always wanting your shot to turn over, or even roll. It is very easy to manipulate. Great choice if you want a slower flippy driver

I have to give prodigy props for their flight numbers on the F7. Rarely do you buy a disc and it flies exactly as advertised. I got mine in 400 plastic and it feels great and seems very durable. This disc gives you effortless distance and hyzer flips or turns with very little power. It also gets over easily for easy rollers.

Great for hyzer flips and also a good roller disc. I really like mine and use it a lot. the 400 plastic has held up very well. Highly recommended.

This disc works great for beginners and advanced players. For newer players looking for a hyzer flip fairway, this will definitely help you achieve that. For advanced players the F7 makes for a super easy roller disc and a great utility disc.

I have two F7s in 400 and 750 plastic. The 400 is quite beat in by now and pretty much only rolls for me. I am able to throw it on a comfortable hyzer angle and still get a roller out of it which is nice. Not having to contort my body to roll a disc allows me better control for sure. The 750 plastic F7 is a little more overstable and thrown flat will get a nice distance roll for me.

I like that the F7 is pretty flat generally, which for a roller disc is great because they are less likely to glide in the air and fail to roll.

As a slower arm-speed player, this disc is a great addition to my bag for hyzerflips. If I put it on hard hyzer, it will flip up and coast rather far. Mid to low amounts of hyzer will flip to flat and turn over just enough. Flat to anhyzer releases will turn into rollers, but I haven't practiced with that to get reliable results yet. Great hyzerflip disc and tailwind disc for me.

The F7 is too flippy for me now, but if you are a beginner you'll probably throw your first true distance shot with this disc.  Personally I think this should be everyone's first driver.  Super fun to throw and has a ton of flip-up.  Nice low profile and manageable rim size.

*Note about me as a player to help this review be most clear: I am 'intermediate" skill level, usually drive around 275 +/- 25 feet. I throw right handed. Hopefully this allows you to compare to yourself better and please keep in mind what point of view my comments are coming from.

This disc is great to throw on an anhyzer (RHBH) line and if I need to make a long upshot, this is a go to disc. It can handle a nice S-curve if you want it to and has a gentle hyzer at the end. Very reliable disc that will hold its lines well. Has a great feel in the hand, but that could have something to do with Prodigy's plastic as well. It is a little domey and the glide is nice. Would definitely recommend this disc.

Holy Fliptastic! This disc with any sort of power will flip out of your hand and become a roller. Even thrown on a big high anhyzer it will turn vertical and crash.

You can do everything with this disc! I use it for hyzer flips in the woods. You can throw it softer and it will go straight forever. You can flip it over and use it for a roller that needs to finish right. Must have in your bag!

I absolutely love this disc! I've always been a fan of Prodgy's plastics. My favorites are 300, 350g, 400, and 750 series.

When I first got the F7 and threw it a few times it was weird since it basically only flew straight and then had a small fade, similar to what an F5 would fly like. So I thought I got some freak beefy one or something. But I kept forcing it over on anhyzer to get it to hold a turn and it was working really well for that.

Prodigy's discs definitely have an issue with flashing being on the discs and that seems to really affect the flight. So when the flashing wore off of my F7 and I threw it for a while it got to that super understable flight. I LOVE the way it flies. It is very understable but its also very controllable. I can throw it hard on a hyzer flip and it will flip up to a turnover and hold that the entire flight. I also like softer hyzerflips for dead straight shots. I do use it for big sweeping anhyzer shots, "get out of jail" forehands, patent pending shots and rollers. Its a very versatile disc and I absolutely love it.

Like I said above, the flashing affects the flight of the discs so after that wears off and breaks in a bit they fly amazing. This is a great disc for all skill levels. Lower skill players can get a nice straight flight out of it, and more experienced players can get a very controllable and understable driver.

Prodigy's F7 is an understable fairway driver that really excels at turning and hyzerflips. It is fairly comfortable in hand (not super domey like the F5) and doesn't require a ton of power to throw. When thrown with power, this thing isn't coming back. I like a more neutral disc that I can throw a variety of lines with.

So i bought this disc used and it has a good feel to it and filled my roller disc i was needing in the bag. For new players they will like it for max distance throws, but advanced players will really only use it for rollers or long hyzer flips. If you need a disc that you need long turn overs or a new roller after a couple tree hits..... this is the disc you are looking for.

I believe the f7 is a little more stable yhen the numbers suggest. It was (till i lost it) my go tocontrol driver for anything -275 ft or tunnel shots. Everybody needs atleast one.

As a huge Prodigy fanboy, bagging almost the entire line, I can confidently say that the F5 and F7 are reversed! (I would rate the F5 as a 7, 6, -2, 1 or even .5 fade and the F7 as a 7, 5, -2, 2)

The F7 is still understable and will bear right when thrown hard, but will always come back with a consistant forward fade at the end. Easily thrown 325'-350' and can be thrown straight as a frozen rope for tunnel shots with a nice gentle leftward finish (RHBH) or setup on a hyzer for a great long arching glide. This is a beautiful multifaceted disc perfect for agile flexing lines through obstacles, long S-lines with a reliable fade, tunnel shots, or 350' open drives where you don't quite need to pull out that driver.

Not the most beginner friendly for it's stronger than rated fade, however, still adjusts fairly easily for newer players.

Update: After losing my first F7 - a nicely worn 3 year old disc - I realize that this review does not stand. In trying to replace my 400S F7, everything I've found is substantially more understable that even my beat in disc. I purchased one for my gal at the beginning of the season and it's about a 7, 5, -3, .5 - Barely fades back at all. Same for another I tried from a local vendor. It seems that my earlier run was either an outlier for it's flight or they have fiddled with the mold, as Prodigy has been known to do. The reputation for Prodigy's inconsistency in drivers holds true here. After 6 different F7s, each one had it's own flight path. From stable-straight, to massively understable unintentional rollers.

As a big Prodigy fan, this is disappointing to say the least. My bag is seeing less and less Prodigy as I find more and more inconsistent production.

I have had this disc for a few months now, and can say that it takes some work to learn how to throw this disc as a RHFH thrower. Mainly used for rollers when I need to throw one, but learning that skill on a RHFH is still eluding me. It turns easy and has a lot of glide, so it does fly well for an anyhyzer FH shot. Field work will be the key to learning how to throw this disc well on a FH throw. I can't throw it far on a RHBH throw due to an elbow issue, but considering how well it does the few times I've thrown it RHBH, I think it'd be a good disc for anybody to have in their bag

My F7 is Purple, 174 grams. This disc feels amazing in the hand. This disc was supposed to be like the Patriot or the Underworld, which I have thrown. After extensive throws with this disc, there are several corrections I want to make. First, this disc is very fast, 8 speed. Second, that speed could be due to the glide, make it 6. As far as the flight goes, I would not compare this disc to the Underworld. This disc is more stable.

The F7 flies more like a Patriot or an Undertow. It feels more like an Undertow to me because I didn't like the Patriot and I like this disc. On backhand throws, anhyzer releases will turn quite a bit to the right and if given enough air, it will come out of the turn and fade a little left. On a hard and flat release, this disc turns over a little bit and then finishes pretty much on your starting point, which is nice. When I first threw this disc, I released it on a hyzer angle every time, expecting it to flip up and turn. Not to be. This disc does flip up flat, but it doesn't turn right. It's a very nice disc for tunnel shots, though. I don't really throw this disc sidearm because it just turned into the ground, but for someone who has a weak sidearm or doesn't throw backhand, this might be a very good disc for those players. I threw this disc over 400' downhill one day, which was really surprising for a speed 7 disc. I have a hard time getting my 9 and 10 speed discs that far on that hole. I recommend this disc to a lot of skill levels because it goes far, feels comfortable, and is easy to throw. It's not a "true" beginner's disc, though, as initially expected.

Prodigy’s F7 is defined as a “The F7 is a medium speed, under stable fairway driver with substantial glide.” The disc flight numbers are a turn of –4 and fade of 1; very similar to an Innova Roadrunner (but slower). However, the F7 I was testing (175g 400 series) is more similar to a fresh 175g Star Innova Leopard or a beat in 175g Star Teebird. The flight pattern is similar to a Leopard’s turn and fade (or Eagle if you thrown with lower power). When thrown flat and hard it will right and fade a little at the end. The disc wasn’t nearly as under stable as initial impressions. I was expecting the flight to be similar to a 170g beat Leopard; long turn with no fade. The discs glide is mediocre; my Teebirds and Leopards have quite a bit more glide. However, that may change as the disc beats in. On a good rip, I was getting it about 320’-340’, about 20’-30’ shorter than most of my Teebirds. The rim on the disc is quite unique. It has a very boxy profile, reminiscent of a Latitude 64 Trident. The disc also has a uniquely shaped top that rises about .5-1 inch from the edge. The profile felt different that a typical disc on my hand, but I did not find it awkward. The rim is a little beefier in the hand than a Leopard; good for those with larger hands. The thick profile may be it a superb disc for long straight rollers. The 400 series plastic is absolutely amazing; pliable, grippy, yet durable. Probably the best disc plastic I have ever felt. Overall the disc is good, not great. The disc mold is unique, but not really anything revolutionary. A River and Leopard can achieve the same shot with a little more glide and distance. The plastic is really where this disc shines. It might have a niche market for rolling with the unique profile. In lighter weights it might may a good beginner disc, however, it is rather pricey right now for a beginner disc. This disc could also be amazing when the base plastic comes out as it should add glide and the beefy rim can take abuse. In my opinion, the F7 should probably be a bit more under stable, especially considering the current gap between the F3 and F7. For reference, I primarily throw control drivers for distance and play advanced in non-sanctioned tournaments, on average, placing in the middle of the group.

After seeing the "7" on this disc I figured the F7 would be so flippy that it wouldn't be good for anyone but a child. I took a 174g F7 to an open field for testing and assumed it would flip right over like a beat in DX Leopard. I made a moderate throw with good snap and it didn't turn and burn. It turned nicely, but gradually faded back for a nice straight throw. For my next test throw I threw it as hard as I could and yes, it did flip over and crash into the ground, but when I try to throw hard, that's pretty common due to my inconsistency and poor form.

The Latitude 64 River is my go to understable driver. When I need a straight throw that will turn slightly to the right, the River's the disc I use. I took the River out of my bag and used the F7 instead for three rounds today. I had some great throws with Prodigy's new understable driver. With a moderate controlled throw, this thing stays straight and goes  relatively far. The F7 is super easy to control, and perfect for less experienced disc golfers and those who want effortless distance. I'd say it's slightly more understable than my River. It's like a cross between my ESP Avenger SS and the River. While I thought this was going to be a laughable disc only suitable for the weakest arm, it looks like Prodigy finally has a good driver for beginners as well as disc golfers looking for straight flights to get through tightly wooded areas. I'm liking this better than the Leopard, Westside Underworld, and Legacy Patriot. We'll see if it replaces my River permanently and how it handles once it's hit a few more trees.
