The Saint is a fantastic straight-flying driver that provides intermediate players with more distance. The flight path of this disc has a slight “S curve” with a slightly overstable net result. When thrown with power it has fairly significant turn followed by moderate fade. This disc is recommended for flights up to 350 feet. The Saint disc has some serious glide, and is one of only a few discs that has a glide rating of 7. Latitude 64 says the Saint is a “slightly longer River.” It is a taller than average distance driver (1.9cm) with a moderate wing length (1.9cm).

This is my favorite disk of the tee when I need something that will go straight with a reliable fade at the end.  If I put it on a touch of hyzer it will pop flat, push and then fade out.   More hyzer?  It just wants to keep the angle like it's on rails and go where I wanted it to.   If I give it a little anhyzer it will do a nice little move to the right then a gentle fade back in.

It's one of those discs where if I'm not quite sure what to throw, I'll usually grab the Saint.

The Opto Saint is my favorite driver on the market and has been for years now. I dont have a big arm, Im usually trying to get to 325 accurately, and this disc provides amazing accuracy, glide, and control for me. The Saint is truly stable IMO, meaning on days with negligible wind with a flat throw it will turn and fade about the same amount. The glide is real on this disc as well, and it generally nets me 10 to 15 more feet than comparable speed and stability discs. Its a fantastic flyer, I highly recommend it.

Good flippy 9 speed, love how glidey it is (extremely glidey). Flight numbers suggest it is straight to slightly stable but it is definitely understable. Great first driver for a beginner. Opto and gold burst are about the same stability from my experience.

If you are still learning and not quite ready to move up to distance drivers yet, this will give you a little more distance. I don't think the glide is substantially better than most 5-6 glides drivers, but with the slight under stability you can get easier full flights. Fun to use and worth a try

If you want a 9 speed with glide this is it. I was skeptical of the 7 glide but the Saint delivers! Because of all the glide it can be susceptible to wind a lot of times but it's incredibly manageable. Good reliable fade at the end of a nice, long, straight flight. When my friends want to move up to 9 speeds this is always the first dsic I recommend.

Give it some air and the Saint will glide for days. I have two different Saints in Opto plastic and they're both less stable and more finicky than I expected. They need to be powered down (maybe 70-80% of maximum effort) with a significant hyzer release to get maximum distance. When thrown soft and flat, the Saint provides a super long and reliable anhyzer finish, which is the main role I use it for now.

I really like the feel and pink color of my disc. The plastic isn't super hard or super soft, so while it will show scratches, I wouldn't be worried about a short life-span.

I am new to disc golf and have been using this disc on distance drives to try to improve my technique. I find that it is much less forgiving than most higher speed discs and really holds whatever angle you give it. This provides a lot of flexibility in usage but you have to know how to get it to do what you want. While this might be a little frustrating for brand new players it will really force you to hone your form. With the high glide rating I've been getting some good distance out of it too.

A great straight flying driver with a lot of glide. The disc flies reliably straight with a decent bit of turn and slight fade at the end. The reason it loses a star for me is that it doesn't really fly like the numbers would suggest and it took a bit of practice to trust how it was going to fly. A great beginner to intermediate 9 speed disc, but if you have a big arm and are expecting it to turn a little and fade out at the end for max distance then this probably isn't the disc for you.

    173g Gold Line.

Picked this disc up when I was new to disc golf and didn't have the arm for a 9 speed so it would go decently far being under stable and high glide. Now that I can throw it it is beautiful when you get the full flight out of it. It is tied for my longest throws (with a blizzard Wraith). When you get a tail wind this disc stays in the air forever. The reason it loses a star is because it is touchy. It's hard to throw it hard and still give it the ability to fade back, most of my throws the disc just keeps turning and doesn't fight back, still goes incredibly far, it's just hard to shape the shot.

This disc is great for people who are stepping up from 6 or 7 speeds as it doesn't require being thrown that much harder to go a lot further.

Very much like Discraft's Undertaker or Innova's Savant, the Saint is an excellent control driver that can handle plenty of power and just glides for days.

Newer players will find it reliably overstable but not uselessly so, which is somewhat of a rarity with drivers. More experienced players will find the Saint to be an extremely reliable point-and-shoot driver with minimal turn and fade.

This disc was a challenge at first.   Something in me knew that I could throw it well so I kept practicing with it and kept forcing myself to use it on the course.   Initially I would have rated it a 2 star.   But thanks to a lot of practice the Saint has become one of my most trusted discs when I need a long fade.    I throw it with a little bit of anhyzer and it always fades as expected.

Latitude 64 released one of the crushing-est control drivers I've ever thrown in the Saint. She can handle every bit of your torque, and if given room to turn, and some air to fade back in, you'll find the Saint is a bone straight, 400+ control driver you can depend on. This is my go to on long holes in the woods. Doesn't dump hard right, and if thrown close to ground level, won't turn at all. This is a laser beam, and a must have in your bag. Not too domey, and definitely forehandable. No option to give this as many stars as I want.

The Opto Saint is one of my utility backhand drivers and will go very straight even with a moderate wind.   It will hold an anhyzer line well and can be forced to turn excessively without rolling.   The Saint outdrives many other fairway discs and has more directional consistency than my distance drivers but it can be overturned with power.  At about 60% power, it can be thrown laser straight forehand making it very useful in the woods. At a speed 9 it is likely out of reach for beginners but could be a good disc to grow into after gaining some disc speed.

The saint is truly a crazy glide version of a classic disc mold. Very domey and it's flight path is unique in terms of vertical lift. It's does follow a left to right Valkyrie line with more lift and penetrating forward glide. I hyzerflipped this disc 400 feet+ without a run up. It popped up, sat and forward faded. I tried it flat and it went right and came back dead center. Easy distance, but scary in the wind. I doubt I will have many opportunities to use it game to game, but I am happy to have it for tailwind bombs and lighter finesse shots. Good disc.

    Expected results.

I have never had an overly powerful backhand. So one of my buddies from league suggested that I try out the Saint. COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!!!! There aren't words to describe how much more consistent and farther I've been throwing backhand drives all because of this disc. You don't need a ton of power to make this disc soar. Its drastically improved my backhand distance and has been helping me learn the proper technique. I've been able to outdrive my buddies that throw only backhand using this disc! Highly Highly recommend!

Suggested to be as part of my "starter pack" by a more seasoned player, the Saint has been a great go-to overstable driver that has a fairly straight flight path until the very end. Even a newer player without crazy arm speed can see some good distance with this disc.

The Saint is a fun disc to throw due to its huge glide. It's a great disc to give to a beginner to let them get some extra distance. It just seems to fly hovering above the ground when thrown flat and straight, until gently gliding to a soft landing after going for a while.

While it is great for beginners, I don't know that I would recommend for intermediate and up players. It's a bit hard to control with precision because of the enormous glide. It also doesn't flex out of the turn when thrown with intermediate power. It is great for big long anhyzer shots that you don't need to fade back.

I did enjoy throwing the Saint, but it didn't make my bag because it's a bit too touchy and I couldn't get it to do what I wanted each throw.

This is a great disc for a first driver. This is the first disc i throw that gave me good distance, so i fell in love with it. It did become very inconsistent quickly, i think calling it flippy is an understatement. I would not throw this disc in any kind of wind, in fact if someone sneezes to close to this disc in flight it will go way off coarse. But on the bright side it's great for turn over shots! i do love the gold line plastic but the opto is a little more stable. If you have a slower arm and need distance this is a good disc choice.

After having good success with the River and its 7 glide, I thought I'd move up to the Saint with its 7 glide (listed) and have similar success.  No such luck.  I have thrown other 9 speed discs comfortably, but could not get the Saint out there in the same way. For me it's more of a 10 speed and 5 glide:  it goes straight for a bit then dumps.

I had a frost line Saint for a long time (lost now). Frost line is generally significantly more stable than the other plastics, but even that stability made it a hair less stable than my Escape. It would have a long turn on a hyzer flip and fade out just enough at the end to have a pretty insignificant net lateral deviation from the tee. It's probably the second glidiest disc I've thrown, only to the River. However, I never replaced it because it was just a solid but unspectacular disc that when I lost, I just popped my River back in the bag and didn't really skip a beat.

This is a great disc for beginners moving up to their first fairway drivers that want to add distance to their throws. It's perfect for long control shots with a low speed fade at the end. The incredible glide allows me to power down and focus on technique with holes that require precision. It's really hard to go wrong with this disc and everyone I know who's used the disc has been impressed.

The saint is a disc that was one of the first discs I started out with when I began playing disc golf. I loved it as a beginner because I could get it to hold up a bit, and fade of predictably. For some reason I went away from it for a long while, but in the last 6 months, it has become a staple in my bag again. Its a disc I can pull out and get to go straight (depending on the release). I can get it to hold just about whatever line I put on it. I just left it on a course somewhere and feel naked without it. I have a new one on order.

     173g Opto

For context, I average 300' with the Saint with a flat to hyzer release and can pop it out to 350' with good form. At those distances it flies pretty accurate to the numbers, ymmv.

The Saint is one of the all time great molds for rec level players, imo. It is reliable enough in heavy opto to not turn over too much,  but still has great glide and distance. I have never thrown any other plastic, so can't speak to anything else. It starts off just a touch more overstable than optimal for me, but wears into a great balance between max distance and reliability. I would not throw it into a headwind >10mph, but that is what the Thunderbird is for (a great counterpart to the Saint, honestly).

It feels great in the hand and I love Opto plastic from Latitude. It has great glide and almost always ends up exactly in the middle of the fairway, with surprisingly little lateral movement. Definitely worth a shot for people looking for that speed 9 mid-stability driver.

    157g Opto Air

I see that my plastic type isn't listed as a choice...oh well.

I have the same problem with this disc that I always have with light discs. It really seems to be more understable than the numbers indicate. I might just have to much arm for this plastic, because I have to power down to get a somewhat level flight RHBH.

It's decent as a RHFH disc, but I don't primarily throw FH.

I would have to try a heavier disc in maybe the gold line to see if it's just me.

This disc might be good, but I just don't know yet.

This is my furthest flying, yet easiest to throw disc. I usually throw fairway drivers 280-300' since I value accuracy more than power in most cases. I had been throwing the Valkyrie and the Underworld for a little while since they do everything I need them to do. I recently added an OptoAir Saint (165g) to my bag, and it is incredible. I can now chuck this thing with the power needed to go 280' and get a good 310-320' on an accurate drive. The disc flies straight ALL the way. I really don't think it has as much fade as indicated by the numbers, but that may be due to mine being lower weight and different plastic.

Pros: I would recommend this to anyone. It files great with a slight hyzer flip, has TONS of glide (more than any other disc I've thrown), and is great for low ceiling flight paths.

Cons: Mine was tossed around by the wind too much, but may be due to it being a 165g disc.

Let me start out by saying, if you have an arm (and not perfect form?) like mine where 350ft drives are max and 250 - 300 are average, this disc will help you. The very first time I threw a Saint (160g opto misprint) I was blown away. It was on hole 1 of Tatum DGC in Hattiesburg, MS and before throwing the Saint I had never gotten within birdie range. I knew it was going to be a good throw the moment it released, and I was amazed as I watched the disc land 30ft pin high. This disc has glide for days!

All in all, I would highly recommend this disc to beginner to intermediate players. I'm not saying that someone more adanced wouldn't love this disc, but I cannot speak from their point of view. I do know that this disc helped ME. If you don't have a huge arm and you're looking for some extra accurate distance you should pick up a Saint.

Opto Saint, 168g, RHBH Avg. Distance ~265', Max Distance ~300'

Let me start by saying that I do not own one of these discs and I have based my review upon a few days of throwing my friend's Opto Saint.

If you have read any of my reviews you will know I am kind of an Innova man. Based upon that, regarding flight characteristics, this disc throws like a slower Wraith. I feel that I actually have to give more pop on my DX Valkyrie (172g, 9 Speed) than this Saint, yet my friend (the owner) disagrees calling it a faster Valkyrie, but with less Turn and slightly more Fade. That said, we both agree that the Glide is much lower than stated. Still, if you throw Innova discs, you will notice a familiar feel with the Saint.

In the hand the disc feels good and sits well within my grip. If it was any thinner or smaller in height, pertaining to the rim, I would not like it. The Opto plastic is smooth, sliding out of the hand on release well, however, it does offer some grip too. And, let it be said that this plastic is quite durable considering that I hit a tree with a DX Wraith hard enough to bend it in two much like a taco shell on impact, forever changing its flight pattern to be out of my bag. However, I hit a tree with this disc that went off like a rifle and the disc never acted any different afterwards.

Concerning how this disc flies and ease of control, the numbers are a bit misleading to me. As I stated, the disc is slower than a 9 Speed in my opinion, thus making it easier for beginning players to throw. With slight degrees of wrist angle I have this disc flipping flat to a nice left end fade and even hard turning right to flex back out straight and fall in slightly left. I can even get it to pop flat and fly straight without any fade dump or slide. Skip shots happen as well with a wrist turn and flick. Just a good disc to have as a workhorse around shorter courses. However, it will pose an issue for anyone who has poor form and less than average arm. This disc does require some finesse to get it to react and fly properly. Though, I might add, it is forgiving enough that a slightly errant throw will not be too badly punished.

To sum up, a good fairway to early distance driver for those with a few months and a couple thousand throws under their belts. Quite possibly a workhorse for many intermediate to advanced players as well, but mainly then as a fairway driver due to its lack of great distance such as other, faster drivers out there. Though I have only thrown my friend's Saint, I plan on purchasing one for myself soon enough.

This disc got better as I got better.  My only real complaint is I found other discs that I was more consistent with and had better distance with (i.e Escape).  This does not hold up into the wind either.  It's super close to the Escape, I just like the Escape's lower profile better.  It flies like the numbers only slightly more understable.

One of the best discs on the market... If I could have a signature on a disc it would be a saint.

Tons of glide but with a reliable stability without being too overstable. These things crush. Most players should be able to reach distances they get with higher speed drivers unless you throw 400+ feet.

Only knock would be wind fighting. Not the best wind fighter due to the high glide but can still handle pretty moderate winds.

Opto/Frost 175. This disc for me makes me mad because it is unpredictable. I am sure it is my fault on release angles. Some times it will be great, go straight with a little flex then finish left. Other times it will just glide right and die down. I understand it will hold any line but for some reason it just is unpredictable and does not always do what I want it to do. Great for players with slower arms to get the distance. It is a true 7 glide.

The Saint is a long distance driver disguised as a control driver. It's excellent at fairway drives and long placement shots, while also being capable of handling full power off the tee. The Saint has enough high and low speed stability that it's dependable in all but the heaviest of winds. It has fantastic glide, so beware that improper release angles could cause it to go a long ways in the wrong direction.

My Saint is a Gold Line at 167 grams. It gets almost as much distance off the tee as my speed 12 and 13 drivers. It consistently hangs in there with my max distance drivers till the last 20 feet. The Fury is my only other control driver that gets distance like that, but it's somewhat volatile when given that much power. The Saint is much more consistent when ripped at full power.

The Saint is a perfect disc for players that have advanced past the speed 7 fairway drivers and want to try something faster. Newer players might find it to be on the overstable side out of the box. Just give it time to beat in and it'll be your favorite driver before long. Players of all skill levels can find a use for the Saint, whether it be as a distance driver or super-glidey control driver.

Great fairway driver for almost all skill levels. The glide is insane. Bigger arms can execute huge anny shots whereas newbies such as myself will find it to go straight with a little fade towards the end.

This disc is great for all levels. This discs exceptional glide is what I love most about it. I can get about the same distance and my wraiths with this disc but it is a little less predictable with one less fade. I normal use my wraiths for most shots but if I want a very straight shot with not a lot of fade I'll throw this.

As a beginner, this was the first speed 9 disc that I got that I could really throw. I came to it expecting a somewhat faster and farther flying River, and that's exactly what I got. That 7 glide rating is definitely for real. If you can throw a speed 6 or 7 rated disc well, you can probably throw a Saint and get a pretty good line (and some distance) out of it. This has become one of my go-tos for shots 300-350ft.

OK, so the Saint... The unique, beautiful, and intriguing distance...

Do you like INSANE distance? I mean really easy, ridiculously stupid, off the wall distance? I mean seriously, this disc goes FAR. Like really, really, really far. Gamechanging far.

So yea, if you like long walks on the beach, great seafood, reaching insane new distances, and shaving STROKES off your score. Then for EVERYTHING in the world that MATTERS, go get yourself a Saint... Run, don't walk, or drive, but DO NOT dally. Grab one in your fav plastic today, and get to throwing this GEM...

I first picked up the Saint when I heard it described as farther flying Valkyrie with more glide. I found this description to be quite accurate and the Saint had a place in my bag for a while. Unfortuantely as I gianed some power, the Saint became very flippy for me and I had less and less uses for it.

When I was a beginner, and throwing around 300' - 350', the Saint was a great disc. For a while it was one of my farthest flying discs. I could get a decent S flight out of it, and it had so much glide! As I gained a little power, the disc was great for hyzer-flips and turnovers.

Don't let its description as an 'Overstable Control Driver' fool you. Maybe at the speed of a putter this disc flies stable, but overall it's an understable disc. If you throw around 350' I would give this disc a try, you might love it. Bigger arms will find it to be quite flippy, but a fairly versatile disc.

In the hands of a player with the minimum of moderate power and skill this disc goes forever. It acts more like a 11 speed and super accurate wind or not!

So, I reviewed Saint as a noob! And I am here again as a solid intermediate thrower, hitting 300 with regularity. Saint is my #1 driver: so useful in a variety of plastics and weights. I have a beaten in Saint that flies straight as an arrow, a heavy Saint that flies straight with fade, a new freak that has a beautiful slow turn(outlier): Air Saint is my tailwind bomber.

This disc fits my hand like a glove and I am sticking with it ??

I have two saints both in Opto. One is beat one is newer. Love them both. The newer one goes straight with a predictable fade. I keep trying other fairway drivers and keep going back to my saints. My beat one throws a perfect Anny and holds it the whole way. If I throw it hard it does a nice S flight. I can get these out as far as some of my higher speed discs:) Always a beautiful flight with the saint.

Thoughts of a RHBH finesse-thrower, max distance around 350ft:

    The plastic:
I have the Saint in Opto Plastic 171g.  Their Opto line is the same deal as Innova's Champion and Discraft's Z, although I like Opto a hair more than both, due to grip.

    The mold:
I like the way my Saint flies.  It's a good control distance driver for 1) reliability on slightly breezy days  2) wooded shots that require a fade to the left at the end  3) moderately sloping downhill tight shots/control shots.

In relation to the Latitude 64 canon of fairway/control drivers:
I love my Gold Line River 172g for long lazer lines and I feel like I can throw it about as far as the Saint actually, and that's where some initial disappointment came with the Saint for me.  I can't really get much extra distance with it because it's more stable, but that's the very reason I like it on breezy days.  I think if I want the true big brother to the River, I should soon check out the Fury.

This is (and some sait pros) are my go to "control drivers."  I have found that this disc breaks in amazing -- this disc will change over time.  I often carry 3 in various levels of break in and plastic.  I carry an old air opto for a right fade (RHBH) or rollars (it has hit some trees), an opto for stright, and a gold pro or gold for hook shots.  I know I am going to get the same distance out of all 3, I can just control the break.  Great to have a disc that feels great in the hand and does what I could normally carry 3 other discs for.  My closest park has a ton of trees, I could play the round with just my Saints.

I reach for the saint more than any other disc in my bag. Consistent, pinpoint accuracy and all around a solid control driver. I carry three in my bag. A beat Gold Line that is pretty understable with just a touch of fade at the end, an Opto that is dead straight with a slight fade and a max weight recycled that is stable/overstable and finished harder than the other two. Must have disc from trilogy.

Fantastic disc! Quickly became my go to disc for controlled drives. Throw it well and it will reward you with a beautiful line!

The Saint is one of my all time favorites by Lat 64. With decent arm speed, it's a lazer beam with minimal fade at the end of the flight. Newer players will most likely have a bit more fade at the end, however the GLIDE will carry the disc pretty far. The Saint was my first Lat 64 disc and started my obsession with Swedish plastic. Gold line is less stable than opto and most intermediate/advanced players I've talked to prefer at least 172+ in weights to help with the stability. Do yourself a favor, and buy one!

The Saint is my most relied upon driver. My home course has a lot of long, straight shots and the Saint works best for those. It doesn't fly as impeccably straight as the Fuse -- another disc from Latitude 64 which is by far my favorite disc (but it's a mid-range) -- and it doesn't get quite as much distance as some other drivers, but the Saint is reliably straight-flying with reasonable distance and good but not crazy fade at the end. I love the plastic that Latitude 64 makes. Both Opto and Gold are great in terms of both grip/feel and durability. I would just suggest avoiding the Limited Edition Test Run plastic which is more slick and does not stand up to a lot of punishment. I am an intermediate player with ~15 discs (and counting).

Only got the opportunity to throw it a few times, but when I did I found the Saint to be great for what it is, which is longer fairway driver for me. I could control it out of the hand really well and then just watch it glide on its line for a while before fading out just a little bit at the end. It also has a great feel in the opto one I threw. I'm currently looking to add one to my bag for those shots that are too long for my Eagle.

I have been holding off on a review of my Opto line Saint, 173g for awhile now. I was not quite sure what I thought of it at first. But after playing several rounds with the Saint in my bag the last few weeks, it has become my go-to distance driver. It has the words "Overstable Control Driver" printed on it, and ratings of Speed: 9, Glide: 7, Turn: -1, Fade: 2 so at first I was narrow-mindedly thinking of this as a stable fairway driver. It is SO much more than that! It seems to have glide very similar to my River, but not as flippy. Also being faster than the River I can put more power on it to stretch out a drive. I typically drive between 300-350ft RHBH by the way. I find that a lot of the faster drivers are just to much for me, and this speed 9 range gets pretty much the same distance but manages to be very easy to control. This disc turns just enough to finish straight after the moderate fade when thrown flat. When put on a gentle hyzer line, it held the line gracefully through the entire flight which makes it very predictable for me to aim on that line. I would not call it a great headwind driver, but it held up well enough. My experience with Latitude 64 (only thrown River, Fuse, Striker, Flow, Saint, Pure)on the whole has been, mostly terrific discs featuring crazy glide... but almost worthless for me in a headwind and this disc changed my mind on that. As for now whether it is a wide open long hole, or one that requires some line shaping, I will continue grabbing my Saint.

I use it for long Anhyzers, it will hold the line very well and have beautiful glide at the end, Opto plastic is beautiful and the most durable plastic I have ever used. The Saint is a little further and less stable than a Striker.
