    DX Whale, 175g.

Feel- This disc feels great for throwing with a fan grip. It's quite deep, and fits in my hand as well. For putting, the bead is nice, slightly smaller than a big bead aviar, with a nice v-tech rim and a flat place on the rim to put your finger for putts. I would compare it to the innova Colt, but rather tall compared to the colt, but the rim feels rather similar.

Flight- The Whale flies really well. It will go straight with a very slight fade at the end, no matter how much power you put into it. It also works well for forehands, if the high profile and rim depth don't bother you. It definitely lives up to it's flight numbers of 2,3,0,1. Although it would be good for beginners, most would do better starting with an aviar.

I think Innova accomplished their mission here with this one. It's just a little beefier than an Aviar and does throw nice as well as carry on putts like an aviar. This is not a putter you can rip on harder (like a rhyno, harp, even stud) but does offer some decent stability. I liked how it flew more than how it felt. Pretty deep in my hand which is ultimately most important in putters for me, the feel, hence the 4/5

The Whale is a nice stable putter that reminds me of a P2. It can really handle some power and wind, but its not unworkable. It really does have some nice glide as well. Overall, a very nice putter.

An odd gem in a huge Innova line up. Off the bat the Whale has a fantastically smooth and round rim that fits the finger nicely. It has a micro-esque bead on it that slots your grip nicely. My thrower was a 175g DX whale with a reasonably flat top. Something to note of the whale is it has a very deep feeling to it and the putter is quite tall, as a result this disc's glide is excellent.

The Whale surprisingly varies greatly as a putting putter and a throwing putter. The Whale also sits in a strange situation where it's high speed stability is greater than its low speed stability. When putting with the Whale it is very straight and it holds very well for spin putters especially high spin focused putters. It's lowspeed fade is very slow progressing which seems to be due to a mass concentration in the rim. As a throwing putter the whale is surprisingly resistant to turn you can really wail on this thing and it won't flip. A happy side effect to this now the disc works quite well for touch approaches both back hand and forehand. I can definitely see the versatility that this quirky little mold has.

As far as wind preference I would say its average across the board throwing it a few times can give you a good idea

I would say this is a disc that you really need to feel to see whether you jive with it or not I think its a very versatile disc and one I would highly recommend trying out if you're in the market of something new/different from the normal aviar molds.

Best putter I've ever used. No other putter is as perfectly stable as the whale for literally any kind of throw. Holds any angle no matter what, even performs extremely well on forehands which no other straight putter in the world does, there is a reason Joel Freeman flicks these into the basket all the time. Perfect for putting as well and has a full great feel in the hand. Is probably the only putter in the world that you can backhand, forehand and putt with succesfully.

I love this putter. I had been using a 150g dx aviar and wanted a heavier putter in windy conditions. I saw a 171g dx whale at big 5 and decided to try it out. I really liked how straght it flys and how easy it is to throw. Now it's the only putter I use. I couldn't speak for it outside of 70-80 feet because I love my buzzz. This dics has a thick rim that you can push into the basket from 20ft.

I have two DX whales in my bag and I love them!  They will be very stable out of the box, but will soon turn into a disc that will go very straight to a turn over.  It was designed as a throwing aviar so it doesn't work for me as a putting putter.  It feels very comfortable in the hand and with the DX grip it won't slip out from your hands.  Often it will fly very straight with power and will fade a tiny bit at the end.

I am just not a huge fan of the DX Whale. It doesn't feel right in my hand, and I can't seem to get it to glide at all when putting with it.

Out of the box the Whale is going to offer a slightly overstable flight with not that much glide. When I put a lot of power behind it, the Whale will fly really stragith with almost no fade at the end.

The Bulky feel of the Whale just doesn't sit in my hands. I wouldn't want this to scare you away from trying the Whale however. I know many who swear by it, and have been smasing putts with it for a long time!

Utah's team Innova member Karina Nowels throws a Whale very well. That girl can putt, and the Whale goes in!

this is a great putt and approach disc,  it can handle some torque off the tee. nice straight flight with very little end of flight fade. i was a little worried that i might have trouble with my release on this disc because it does have a fairly deep rim. however i have had no trouble with getting a clean release. everyone now days thinks they have to spend money on premium plastic, but let  this old school discer tell you something, DX plastic will never go away, and here is why. it's economical, it makes it cost less to play and it makes it hurt less when you lose your disc. it provide great grip in pretty much all conditions. it flys further then those premium blends and if you want a great looking old school syle stamp, well innova reserves those for its baseline plastic DX.

I was very excited to find a DX and XT Whale at a nearby course. I ended up getting both on an impulse buy, and boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. Up to this point, my main putter of choice had always been Rhynos as an all purpose putter (driving, approaches, putting), so I've always been hesitant to try something new. So happy I decided on picking up two of these. Pretty much fell in love with this disc since the first upshot. Minimal effort and getting maximum results is always a blessing, and that's exactly what I get from the Whale. If I had to choose one, I prefer the DX plastic, it feels a little better in my hand and has more significant glide than the XT mold. Such an AWESOME driving putter. Dead straight laser with very little fade. Can outdrive some of my midranges I use at a smaller local course. A real confidence booster. I see myself reaching for this disc when I'm still 200' away from the pin because I can trust it to land safely close by if thrown correctly. Really can't say enough good things about this disc. Highly recommend this disc to anyone from beginners to advanced players, or even newcomers getting their first all purpose disc.
