Absolutely reliable disc. I heard it described as a driver-like putter which immediately I agreed with. I can throw this disc soft or full power and it gets little to no turn. I can get it past 300ft on a straight line with a very subtle fade at the end. All you need to do is throw it high enough as it is a putter.

It is super reliable for straight tunnel shots and gap hitting. Throw soft it is still very straight but fades a bit more. In addition, it is good in a headwind where it will get some turn before a straight flight. It will hold a hyzer line nicely as well as an anhyzer.

Forehand it is not bad although the very deep nature of the disc makes the grip a bit awkward. it feels much like an Aviar but is considerably more torque resistant. It makes for a good wind putter substitute for the Aviar.

I highly recommend this disc as a throwing putter.

The Whale that I tested out was a 175 G Glow Champion one. Flatter top, slightly gummy plastic.  I tested this disc for upshots and drives.  The Whale was deadly accurate on upshots.  It flew straight as an arrow, right at the basket.  I noticed that it sat down pretty well when it hit the ground.  I only had it skip a couple of times, and when it did it didn't skip far.  In the hand this disc feels similar to the big bead aviar drivers.  Slightly more comfortable.  I tested it against some S line P2s, some James Conrad Aviars and some Novas.  The Whale had the straight flight of the nova but with a small amount of finish similar to the Conrad Aviar.  I did not try forehand shots with the Whale since I don't typical forehand putters.  I threw the Whale on straight shots, hyzer lines and anhyzer lines.  It held all 3 lines very well.  On the anhyzer it held it for most, if not all of the flight.  If I gave it enough height it would stall out and land flat.  Overall the Whale is a good driving putter and approach disc.

I only use the whale as a thrower, not for putting. New, the whale is beefy and torque resistance just as the description states. It's much more reliably overstable than a Sline P2 which I used to use in that slot.

I like the whale for drives up to 225ft and approaches. My favorite is forced anyhzer out of the hand and flex to flat straight shots. It's best quality is that I feel it flies the same no matter the wind or power. Throw it hard, throw it soft. Headwind, tailwind. Always straight with a penetrating hyzer.

Only 4 stars because it is mildly uncomfortable for my fan grip, as compared to other upshot approach putters like the p2, evny, or slammer that I've tried.
