Okay, so if you're looking for one of these, I got advice for you.

Of course, based off of the numbers you'll get the stable control driver everyone talks about, but try to find a well used and beat up one. Simply a stock-star one, these things are workhorses! I bag two of these, and one is a reliable hyzer flip up, super glidey and straight. The other is pretty straight to overstable, typical for most stock ones. But like I said, throw these a lot and you'll learn to love them. If you see one, definitely snag one of these!

One of my favorite fairway drivers. I have one in max weight and a lighter one that both get thrown plenty--I recently lost one and am keeping my fingers crossed it gets found. Typically flatter than Teebirds (another solid disc). Stable-to-overstable means that if you have multiple in various weights/plastics/wear then you can cover most of your typical fairway driver shots.

Though any disc higher speed than a mid wouldn't usually be classified as beginner friendly, the Teebird3 wouldn't be the worst stable/overtable complement to an understable/neutral fairway driver for a beginner looking to build a bag.

I love throwing this disc forehand. Normally a pretty overstable disc, but if you throw it low, it will fly in a straight line. I don't use it backhand much, but it is a staple in my bag for forehand shots.

The teebird3 is a staple in my bag. I currently have 3 in the bag in various stages of wear. They come out of the box slightly overstable and for my faster arm speed, they can handle a lot of torque. Brand new they will have a slight flip up with fade. Once beaten in they are very straight with a slight fade. Perfect if you are looking for a more comfortable grip than a regular teebird or you want a little less glide.

I like this much better than the original DX Teebird from my starter set -- which had been fine early on, but with more experience and the disc getting beat-in (or beat up), I needed a control driver with more stability. I also like the feel, release, and superior durability of the Star plastic. This fills a good niche in my bag, particularly into headwinds when I don't need to get max distance on a drive: slower discs go understable and veer right on me, and the higher speed ones either go too far, or if I give them less power, they fade out a bit too soon. The Teebird3 is a great in-between option with a very reliable flight path even in windy conditions.

Its a straight long flyer slight fade to the left at the end. Has quickly become a reliable driver for me in the woods as i can trust its straight flight path and reliable fade at the end. Only took me about 2 weeks before i was pulling out as my go to driver for anything around 300 feet for me.

    171g Star Plastic

A wonderful disc that does exactly what is was made for.

I love using this disc for straight, long shots in the woods or for a point to point shot. If you really get on it, the fade is either nominal or non existent at the end of the flight. Also a really good disc for throwing downhill with. It's such a good stable/neutral Fairway Driver that will give you more confidence in the woods or if your not sure what to throw. I highly recommend buying one or even two!

Pros: Straight shooter. Easy to use. Neutral/stable champ.

    Cons: Absolutely none.

Great stable workhorse fairway driver for straight to fade shots. Works well when thrown flat with minimal turn even at high speeds. Breaks in nicely to a very straight flight but will have some pretty significant fade for lower arm speeds at first

Got my first ace with this disc! Needless to say, I love it. Reliable and predictable fade. Feels great in GStar plastic.

Good powerful straight shooting disc with little fade at the end I think this is way faster than the normal teebird and I can not get this disc to flip up or turn over throw it flat it flys flat

Carrying the Teebird3, 175g, in Champion plastic now.  Lost a really good disc, Star Teebird3 and decided to buy the Champion plastic.  Slower speed and glide then my driving thunderbird, great for my approaches where I need more then a mid.  I've bought a bunch of discs over a few years and the Teebird3 stays in my bag.

This disc is a good starter disc for an over stable throw. I like to use it to throw straight with an over stable finish. Sometimes I throw it with anhyzer to get around those corners with a gliding finish.

    Disc - Star 170 g

My main fairway driver. Conistent overstable driver that will give you a nice straight flight with a reliable left finish at the end. Also great for shaping shots and will hold a hyzer line very well.

Also my favoriite fairway driver for forehands. Will have a nice straight flight when thrown flat for me, with a litttle turn at times. A slight hyzer release and it will fly perfectly straight for me with a bit of fade at the end

May be a little more overstable than you'd want for someone just starting out, but a great workhorse fairway driver for intermediate players.

Disc: 150 g. star avery jenkins.

One of my favorite all around discs. I have medium sized hands and this is by far the most comfortable. I have heard of guys who can really destroy this disc on forehand- I am not a great forehand player and have not had a ton of success with it that way. But it is just an all around great disc for almost every type of shot imaginable. I am very new to disc golf (i.e. barely throwing more than 200 feet a few months ago) and even still putting this out on hyzer for 300+ is well within my range.

I love to use this disc for most of my hyzer shots as well as small flex shots.  I think I got a pretty overstable run of the TeeBird 3, it is the most overstable TeeBird 3 I have ever thrown, although it isn't too overstable.  It is very predictable and can handle a good amount of wind. I would recommend this disc for anyone looking for a predictable fairway driver.

The Teebird3 is very similar to many discs. But since I carry a Discmania FD, I bag this as well.  To me this flies like a more stable FD, a lil less glide traded for stability. Together these two give me most of my fairway shots. Its a very predictable disc that flies straight for about 175-200ft then begins a nice long fade carrying through to about 250-275ft.

175g Star, flies exactly as it should, feels great in the hand releases smooth.  I went from an Eagle to the Teebird3 as my favorite overstable fairway driver

My TeeBird3 is actually more stable than I was expecting. I was looking for something straight that I could rip on without turning over, and so far this does just that. So far, with my intermediate arm, it flight super straight, and then fades (harder than I thought it would). It's definitely a great disc, but I think I'll have to beat it in a bit more before I can start really trusting it. Might be going back to my TeeBird (no 3) until this one gets a bit more wear on it.

I love this disc, however, it's too much for me.

I can max it at around 350 and it always fades HARD left. too beefy for my arm rn.

Good for longer straightish shots, but the thunderbird is superior imo.

I recently added a Star Teebird3 to my bag it I love it. In calm conditions, it goes straight with a nice, predictable fade at the end of the flight. If you really power up on it, you can get some turn out of it, but can count on it coming back at the end. It's probably one of my favorite and most thrown discs due to the consistency of it.

This is my recommended starting fairway driver to anyone who asks me. even with no arm strength if you can give it a reasonably angled and technically sound throw it will give a beginner solid glide on a decently straight line. The first disc i purchased. love it then. love it now. i will always have a spot for it in my bag. i love beaming mine on tunnel throws.

Really great disc! I threw a Teebird for a bit, but it always turned over too much for me when I put any kind of power behind it, so I upgraded to the Teebird3 and it was exactly what I was looking for. It is very hard for me to turn this disc over and when thrown flat, follows a flat line with dependable fade at the end. I've heard it described as a point and shoot disc, and I would agree. Just adjust for the fade and this disc will follow the line you throw it on. I almost never throw this disc with anhyzer so I can't say how well it fades out of a flex line, but the fade is strong so I would say you could use this disc for that shot as well.

update to original review. Newer run of mf is a tad gummy which is good. Barely flick this disc, it seems, and comes out of my hand hot.  Love it. The star I got a few grams lighter 171, is easier to turn, and maybe a hair less fade than mf. I'm hoping the star will beat in for the straight shot with the straight, Or small finish. Threw the new tour series glow, it was beefy, however, that is just my initial impression since I only threw it 3 or 4 times.
