The starfire is a true 10 speed that is easy to turn with a nice overstable finish. I have had one in my bag ever since I started playing and use it often for low ceiling 250-300 ft throws. It's a disc you can really put on a line.

170 gram Innova Starfire Star plastic. I found this disc in like new condition with no contact information.  The flight numbers seem accurate. This disc is very overstable. I don't throw forehands very often and haven't really needed a disc like the Starfire on the nearby courses I normally play. But it's my bag just in case and I have thrown it into a head wind a couple times and it did not care. Still faded hard left. That's what it's supposed to do right?

Hands down one of the best discs for forehand and backhand for slower arm speeds. Super straight and easy to control.

It flies similar to a Wraith but has a smaller rim so its more comfortable for people with smaller hands. It's great for power distance forehands. The star plastic allows you to cycle multiple difference stabilities. It's become my favorite driver and I'd recommend it anyone who likes the Wraith.

I threw the Starfire after throwing the Krait for a while. Loved the disc!

This was my mystery disc and is one of my go-to overstable drivers now for utility hyzer shots.

It finishes left. Every. Time. I can put it on anny for a flex, I can throw it flat and play the bends in the fairway, I can spike hyzer over trees to land in C1, it's awesome.

I like to think of it as a glidey Firebird.

This disc will always have a spot in my bag.

I was given a champion starfire as a handme down disc when I first started playing and it was immediately my favorite disc to throw.  It handled a lot of power and torque on forehand shots and was by far my longest disc.  As I've grown in distance and form, it has remained one of my favorite feeling discs to throw.  Now that its aged and beat in, it allows some turnover shots and flies reliably straight with some stable fade at the end.  Definitely recommend this in champion plastic as it has been insanely durable.

I have the Starfire in DX and Star, and actually prefer the DX. Maybe because it's several years old, and well broke-in? Anyway, it's one of my favorite discs. Although I've been playing for 25 years casually, I'm probably still considered a rookie, but I think most newbies could enjoy some serious distance with this disc after a few months of working on arm speed.

I would've never thought to pick this disc up, instead it showed up as a mystery disc on an order add-on. That said, the Star Starfire has become a staple for me on wide-open, windy courses and fills a gap in my line up.

The disc feels really good in every grip. The rim just falls into power grips and forehand really well. The comfort continues through the throw as I feel I can really control the angle of the release really well even when I'm slathering some mustard on the throw. Overall, the comfort of the disc is great.

The flight is overstable for sure with maybe a teensy bit of high-speed turn. With my lower armspeed being newer to the sport, I don't observe very much of this; only in high headwinds do I see any sort of turn. I've never flipped this guy. The 10 speed is pretty accurate as I can throw it very reliably compared to something like a Destroyer, but I need to juice it a bit more than a Valkyrie. The flight is quite straight into a very steady, stall-resistant fade that is less sharp than the Firebird. Figure out the release trajectory of this and it proves to be quite accurate for straight shots with a hyzer finish. The Starfire also flexes quite well when released RHBH on anhyser. I use a Firebird for most hyzer-spikes, but I imagine this would hold a spike well.

I would recommend this to someone trying, like me, to up their tee-off game in high winds but don't want to deal with something as aggressive as a Firebird.

This is a very nice driver. It can handle the torque of a forehand shot without turning over like crazy. On backhand shots, you can carve perfect S shaped throws down the fairway. One interesting thing about this disc is the flair when it hits the ground. It will skip an extra 30 feet forward and 30 feet in the direction it was fading. Once you figure out the flair off the ground, this disc can be a great weapon on the course!

Excellent disc for control forehand shots. Can handle any amount of power you put on it. I don't get as much distance out of it as some others but it is one of the easiest discs to throw forehand

A very solid stable-overstable driver. I was really surprised with the stability this disc has. It's not a meathook for me(I throw 350-400 regularly) but about 70% through the flight it starts moving left whether in a headwind, tailwind, or crosswind. Nothing seems to really stop it from fading out, except a tree I suppose. I don't carry this disc personally because it's a bit of a one trick pony, and it would be splitting hairs for me to say I need it. It is a great disc to throw out to about 330-350 feet on hyzer, or to throw flat shots that need to move firmly to the left without dumping into the ground.

The Innova Star Starfire is definitely my go-to disc for any shot where I am uncertain as to what to throw. I currently bag a 172g Star Starfire and a 175g Star Starfire and they are both money. Whether I throw them forehand or backhand, they'll get a little turn before getting a decent fade. The only people that I know of who throw this disc is people I convinced to try one. It's not a disc thrown by many pros, but it flies very nice and goes just as far as other distance drivers.

My 172g Star Starfire flies very straight with a slight turn before getting a dependable fade. It flies very well for both forehands and backhands.

The 175g Star Starfire is typically thrown when I need more distance than a Firebird but I need that similar type of finish.

This review is for a 170g Val Jenkins Star Starfire. I saw a funky colored one at Cape Fear Games in Wilmington, NC and picked it up. It looks like it's made of copper with a blue/green swirl. I'd known about the Starfire for years, but never actually thrown one.

I was immediately impressed by the feel of the rim. Before I picked up the Starfire, I'd been throwing Thunderbirds for my OS-stable control driver slot. Something about the wing on the Starfire makes it feel easier to grip for me. And it feels amazing for sidearm. I love throwing thunderbirds backhand, but they don't feel great in my hand sidearm. The best way I could describe the difference is the Starfire wing feels sleeker, or less meaty. It is maybe a little sharper, though mine didn't have significant flashing and all in all felt very comfortable.

I went to Castle Hayne DGC to try it out, and it was love at first throw. Man the starfire comes out fast. I think the extra confidence I have in the grip makes it feel more shapeable. It didn't feel like it had any high speed turn, but it felt like I could get over on it easily enough. And, it got up to speed VERY quickly. It feels like a long Teebird3 with more fade.

I use the Starfire confidently for backhand shots where I would have used a Thunderbird, but it truly shines for me on sidearm throws. I think it benefits from the slightly decreased glide. It's certainly fast and certainly OS, but it feels very finessable. I feel confident with it anywhere from 250-375.

I think the ratings are pretty spot on. 10 4 0 3. I don't think this disc is very beginner friendly, but if you're looking for a Thunderbird-like disc but the Thunderbird isn't quite jiving with you, give the Starfire a try. The one thing I haven't been able to get it to do much of is big flare skips, but I just reach for my Enemy for those. All in all, very, very happy with this disc.

this disc is so stable. I never had to worry about turning it over or it fading to quick. i can get it to go far on a straight line with a moderate fade at the end. it feels good in the hand rim isn't to big and very controllable

Excellent control disc that I use for accurate backhand and forehand shots. Don't let the speed 10 fool you, its basically a destroyer with less fade and it's more consistent between molds i switched out my *DS for more starfires. Excellent disc for stacking different wears. As this disc breaks in it will fly straighter my most beat in star starfires i flick through tunnels and they just hold the line but it takes a lot of abuse to get to that point. Newer starfires flicked on an anny will hold a great S curve, great for baskets that are guarded. The way i run my bag, this disc fits well between flicking a banshee and flicking a star ape it fits the slot and is very multifunctional. Excellent disc everyone should try one.

The star Starfire is a very nice feeling and flying disc. I find it flies true to the flight numbers.  The Starfire is very good control driver and also works very good as a head wind driver. Very reliable flight always know what it's going to do.  If you want to get some more distance with the Starfire throw it low.

Purchased a 170g Starfire in Star plastic as part of my "windy weather" set.  I'm not a power thrower, and an overstable disc is not my forté, but the Starfire does well for me in headwinds and on downhill throws, giving me excellent distance and a reliable fade that can be accounted and compensated for.   It is not recommended for beginners, as it requires good form to throw (not to mention a bit of power).  I got mine in Star plastic, which somewhat mitigates the overstable properties.  Champion plastic is more overstable than Star plastic, so choose which works best for you and your situations.

Edited to add:  I can't review the SL on its page, so I'll add it here.  One can still get Factory Second Pro SLs, and I got a couple.  I think the SL is an outstanding disc and I hope Innova will make a new run of Star or GStar SLs in the future.  The SL does exceptionally well for me on hyzer shots that require some distance and accuracy, and as my Pro SLs get beat-in they are getting better and better for shots on technical/wooded courses.  The SL is not as overstable as the Starfire but does have a good bit of fade at the end of its flight.  If you can find an SL somewhere, grab it and see if you like it as much as the Starfire.
