    Pro Details

Innova Pro Line uses a special blend of plastics that provide unique qualities for each disc model. The different blends of Pro Line plastic produce discs with a wide range of rigidity from extremely soft to firm and stiff.

Pro plastic is more durable than DX, and provides a better grip than Champion Plastic. Discs in pro plastic tend to be slightly more understable than counterparts of the same mold in other premium plastic blends.

I find my 168 Pro Starfire a great disc down from my Destroyer. It's a bit beat in and lighter than what I usually throw for drivers, but I find this the perfect amount of control and stability for a 350ft Hole. Yes, it definitely is a stable disc, but I'd like to think of it as one of the straighter distance drivers overall (possibly just because of mine's wear and plastic). Great BH and FH for about 80% and can trust it in winds to some degree. If you muscle it, just give it some hyzer and can get you a Wraith-like flight but with less turn and more straight glide.

The Starfire is a moderate difficulty disc to throw. I would recommend it to intermediate players who are in need of a disc capable of consistent hyzer for about 300-350'. It has a smooth flight and is very good for a spike hyzer. If you take the time to square up your shot, the Starfire will land right on the green.

When I first started golfing, this and a Discraft Buzzz were my first ever discs. I bought the Starfire in pro plastic, 172g. After a couple years, the plastic has worn in wonderfully. It hasn't become flippy, just more maneagable and predictable.

I carry the Innova Destroyer along with other longer distance discs, however the Starfire still serves the unique purpose of being my "line driver." Thrown with the same power as a wraith or a destroyer, this disc sill carry a line straight and low. I usually RHBH, but because of the perfect shape of the rim on this disc, I often use this as a utility forehand for when I need a nice straight flick to dependably carry a line. Personally, I think the 10/4/0/3 rating is completely off for this disc as long as you have any arm power at all; for me, and I'm still a beginner, the disc would be aptly scored 10/4/0/1.

Writing a review because I think this disc is way underrated and seen as one of Innova's "Walmart" molds, overshadowed by the distance and popularity of the Destroyer or Wraith and so on. I say, getchu a Starfire, and don't turn your nose up to pro plastic either...it will beat it just perfectly.

A fellow player on the course once said to me: "Starfire.  Nice disc."

I would recommend this disc to intermediate players who have decent power.  It can handle a headwind, but this darling will be drifting right for a whiiiiile against a strong headwind on a hard throw, just sayin.

I don't carry one in my bag, but if you're looking for a more predictable flight consider uncorking a Starfire on the course tomorrow or another day.

I have this disc in white Pro Plastic and it is well beat in. I throw this disc backhand only and release it on an extreme hyzer and flip it for shots requiring a strong right turn with minimal fade. Very consistent in flight and I've found it to be a good substitue for forehand shots that I would prefer to fade straight instead of skipping at the end.
