The Halo Star sidewinder is a great disc with the wrong flight numbers.  This disc should be rated 9/5/-0.5/1.  Honestly I'd say it flies more like 9 speed destroyer...and for that it's a wonderful disc.  I just wish Innova would update the flight numbers because it can be a bit difficult to trust that the next one you buy will have the same flight.

2019: Clueless me buys a DX Aviar, Champ Roc3 and a Champ Sidewinder (also a McBeth 4x Star Destroyer ??).

Guess which disc made me fall in love with disc golf? That flippy fairway beauty.

The Sidewinder in Halo Star = pure bliss (tho I find it significantly less stable than other discs in Halo).

I'm a believer in the sidewinder. This is the only Innova disc I still bag, and I've got 2. This was one my of first drivers and I still like the mold. In fact, I lost my champ sidewinder in a pond for 18 months and got it back. It went right back in the bag!

The performance depends a lot on the plastic you get though. Champion and Halo star are both pretty stable for me, whereas DX is a flipping machine. So be conscious of your plastic choice! If you're a beginner, try baseline plastic.

The Halo Star Sidewinder is my absolute favorite disc. This is a great disc for woods golf. It has a great amount of turn, but thrown with touch, it will not turn over. The halo plastic gives it nice, reliable fade.

The Sidewinder was one of my very first discs and it has never left my bag. I recommend this disc for new players, as it is an easy disc to throw to get a full flight. This is also a great disc for advanced players that are looking to carve fairways in the woods or throw reliable anhyzers. I always have multiple Sidewinders in my bag mainly in Halo Star and G-Star plastic. The G-Star plastic offers great grip and understability.

    174g Halo Star Plastic

This is the best understable disc ever made!

While the above was meant to grab your attention, I promise you this disc will make you a believer. Consistent flights, perfect turn and just the right speed for most folk, this is the disc you'll go to for distance, accuracy and reliability. Once you've gotten a handle for how this disc flies, you'll be able to utilize it in a myriad of situations. Rollers, flex shots, trick shots, anhyzer bombs, hyzer flips and straight with a gentle fade. This disc can do it all.

As a beginner, once you've started leveling up to using Fairway Drivers, this will be your go to distance disc. It will also teach you a bit of angle control and how you can manipulate release angles to achieve different shot types. As you gain more skill you'll be able to utilize it for just about every cool and controlled shot you can think of. I definitely recommend this disc to everyone.
