The Savant is a 9-speed driver, capable of good glide and a very predictable fade. It is comparable to the Innova Eagle, only a bit faster. It is a great mold for both beginners and advanced players, as it is easy to control and is a disc that can be relied upon.

Love this thing. Imagine a straight control driver until the last 75ish feet where it fades like a thunderbird. It glides very well and I can get an easy 375 with it (granted I've been told I have a decent arm. At low speeds I can see it being relatively overstable which makes sense due to the strong fade.

I bought a halo star tour series from Joe Revere out of his van. Reading all the comments on here it seems like there's a lot of variability in the mold. I bag two Thunderbirds and a Firebird. The two Thunderbirds are in different cycles of wear and my oldest one was getting too flippy and unreliable in the wind, so I thought this would be a good straight shooter with a touch of fade at the end right out the box. While it is a great disc, it's more overstable than my champion Thunderbird that is new this year. It's not Firebird overstable, but somewhere between the two for me. It has gone in and out of the bag this year as I try to decide if I need that slot filled or if the Thunderbird/Firebird overlap is enough. It'll probably go out of the bag until the champ Thundy becomes beat in and then probably backfill that spot. Good disc, just more overstable than advertised so beware.

    Halo Savant - Blue - 175

This disc is my workhorse control driver.  I describe this to my friends as being the true thunderbird, because this thing in halo plastic flies truer to thunderbird numbers than anything else!  The Halo Savant offers a wonderfully stable disc that flips up perfectly for me (once a bit seasoned), gets a nice long dead straight flight, and finishes with a nice predictable low speed fade.  I also bag a sexton firebird, champ thunderbird, and star valkeryie.  Each of them play a unique role in my bag with, but of my control drivers, this disc is a true stable workhorse!  Not only does it provided the exact flight I'm looking for, but it's great for ranging as well.  I can confidently throw the savant into a headwind when it's blowing too hard for my midranges, and yet I can also push it out to 350-375 no problem.  Great complement to a star valkeryie for tee shots in the woods as well!  Highly reccomend!
