The Savant is a 9-speed driver, capable of good glide and a very predictable fade. It is comparable to the Innova Eagle, only a bit faster. It is a great mold for both beginners and advanced players, as it is easy to control and is a disc that can be relied upon.

Solid disc. Primarily flick player who throws 400. For me, just a slight bit too much turn for that stable 9 speed shot.

Found this at a local sports store and picked it up cause it was pink.  The numbers are nearly exactly perfect for me. It does exactly what it says it will and is quite forgiving.  All in all, I would definitely recommend the Champion Savant as it presents incredible control for a 9-rated speed disc

I got this disc before I realized that plastic affected stability. Even so, I still believe that this disc is a bit more overstable than champion can make it to be. This disc is no turn and all fade. It is probably my least favorite disc in my bag, and although it still has its uses for me, I really am not a fan. If I was medium to long range range overstability, I'll use my Vector or Teebird 3. If I want long range overstability, I'll use my firebird. It has its uses still, but what I'm saying is you are better off getting it in Star, Pro, or any plastic aside from Champion.

The savant for me is a tale of two discs. I have a few of the original tournament release luster Savants that are near the stability level of a thunderbird but with a little more glide. I absolutely love this run. I can rip it out flat and it will fly straight for about 400 feet before having a solid fade. On a forehand, if i throw it flat, it will hold a nice turn and eventually fade out at the end.

The other savant i have is a proto star savant. This disc definitely has less stability than the original run and is more consistent with the savants that are currently being release. This disc will hyzer-flip to flat and maybe even have a little turn if thrown at high speed.

Both of these discs are great and have a spot in my bag but they are not interchangeable. If you threw the original run of savant and thought it was maybe too understable, give a star savant or one of the newer champ runs a chance.

Disc - 175 Innova Champion Savant

Feel - The Savant feels very similar to a thunderbird or other discs in that 9 speed control driver class. It fits very nicely in the hand and feels comfortable for both forehand and backhand shots. Champion plastic is very durable but the grip isn't great in poor conditions.

Flight - I think that the savant is the amateur version of the thunderbird. If you don't have the arm to throw 500 ft than the savant will fly like a thunderbird does for pro players. It has a bit of turn but not much and it flies a nice tight line. I love the savant for shots that I need close to distance driver distance but more control. The savant is definitely underrated but can be more difficult to find because not as many people throw it so it may be worth your while to buy a star thunderbird and beat it in for the same flight.

Overall - The savant is a great disc that I would recommend to most players as a great control driver that will get you a lot of distance. I would say that this disc could be a great controllable driver for players with lower arm speeds and can be used by almost any player.
