The Polecat is one of the straightest flying golf discs available. This isn’t a fast disc (speed rating of 1), but it will stay on the course better than almost any other disc. This is a tall putter (2.3 cm) with a deep rim. The feel of the putter is comparable to a small frisbee made for playing a game of pass, and this feel is preferable for some players who are transitioning to disc golf.

    Halo Star - 173.5g

Slowly drifts right when thrown off the tee (with torque), but super straight for approach shots around 150-200ft. Highly recommend to any player, because this disc has filled a much needed straight-flying putter slot for short approaches.

This is an amazing disc for any arm speed!!! Big arms 450-500+ will be surprised by its stability. If you crank on a new one it will turn less than a nova, and beats in slower as well. This is easily the straightest disc you can throw for anything inside 300ish. Flat, anhyzer, or hyzer it does what you tell it to. I've had about 10 of these in orange and yellow champ plastic and some are more stable than others. Like any disc thrown into trees, they beat in and become more flippy, which is why I've been begging for glow or metal flake run. I don't think I've ever seen a glow metal flake run on any mold, but the polecat would be a perfect place to start! Proto stamp or not I would happily pay for the whole run!

When I hear Mike Downes talk about marveling at the flight of disc, I think about 500+ flexing bombs, and gravity defying insanity of a juiced polecat. If we can't get glow or metal flake, lets at least get these turkeys restocked!

Someone suggested I try a lightweight (150-class) Polecat as a 'get out of jail' disc.  Just putting some spin on it, giving it no power, the DX Polecat glided seemingly effortlessly to the basket on both forehand and backhand shots.  I was very pleasantly surprised how well the Polecat threw, and appreciated the suggestion to try it.

I then tried a 175g Champion Polecat, and it has become my go-to approach disc within 120-140 feet or so.  The Polecat's glide will surprise you at first;  it really is tremendous.  I can put a little bit of power on the Champ Polecat and it goes on whatever line I put it with enough glide to get some distance.  On longer straight throws it can have a little bit of fade at the end, but otherwise holds hyzer, anhyzer, or straight lines.  It probably is a good putting putter, too, but I haven't really tried putting with it.

So if you're looking for that end-all, be-all approach putter, give the Polecat a shot, and be ready to be pleasantly surprised at the results.
