It started out as one of my favorite discs when I got it. I wanted a straight-flying throwing putter, and as someone with a bit of a slower arm speed, I got that. But it gets a little too inconsistent and touchy when it beats in, and there are a bunch of better options on the market. Not the best disc, but it is by no means a bad disc.

Hands down the domey-est disc I've ever put my hands on. glides for days and super straight. Not my putter any more because I simply couldn't get control of it on account of  how deep is it

The colt has always been one of my favorite discs. The star colt is one of the first discs I ever bought and its flight is super predictable and consistent. I don't use it for putting but for straight lines or anhyzer lines it is my go to disc. Out of all my putters this is the putter that flies the furthest too. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a straight putter.

When I first got my hands on the Star Colt, I used it as a forgiving disc for all of my putter related drives, upshots, putts (LOL), etc. Over time, I wore both of mine down to make them a bit less stable, but that doesn't mean they aren't useful! I keep one in my bag at all times for understable drives. I am pretty confident this could still be achieved with brand new colts, but don't hold me to that.

I would say this is a perfect disc for anybody learning to drive with putters and those people who want a nice neutral disc when thrown at less than max power. I don't putt with mine anymore but they can do the job for others (Such as Madison Walker).

The colt is an excellent straight upshot disc- actually it is one of the best that I have ever tried or bagged. It goes far for a putter. It feels good in the hand.  It is a less stable tomb (or the tomb is a more stable colt). I especially love the colt in higher elevations in wooded courses where it steals shots from my midranges. The colt is terrific for backhand tunnel shots. It is also a good circle 2 putter. The one negative (imo) is that it doesn't seem great for putts in the wind.

This is my primary putter. Comes out of your hand so so clean and glides dead straight until it dumps at the end of it's flight. The shallow rim combined with a domey flight plate is a dream to throw as well as put. This disc has sneaky stability and can be thrown level by low arm speed beginners and cranked up with a hyzer flip for more advanced players.

Just  got this disc and i have to say i am very impressed. This disc holds the line you want it to hold. Great for long putts and for putts you need to hyzer spike.

Great disc.  I prefer shallow rim putters to drive with and also to put with.  My favorite putter at the moment is the Axiom Proxy.  The Axiom Envy is my second favorite.  I used to put with an MVP Anode but I had trouble with consistency with a deep rimmed putter and the Proxy and Envy were a perfect fit.  I've tried many putters and I recently purchased a 175g Star Colt.  Although I prefer the Proxy over the Colt, I still feel this is a great disc.  At least for me, the Colt flies a little further than both the Proxy and the Envy.  It's not as neutral as the Proxy, but it may be over time when it's thrown a bit more.  Though it's not my main putter I still highly recommend this disc.  I've also tried the Innova Stud and with my limited experience, it has the same feel as the Colt but is more stable.  The Colt and Stud may make a nice neutral-stable putter similar to how I use the Axiom Proxy-Envy.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Star Colt. When I picked it up, I wasn't sure I would like it because it feels more like a DX Colt than an XT Colt. I prefer the flatter feel of the XT Colt, so I expected less out of the Star Colt. The dome does not remove too much of the comfortable shallow feel of the rim. Regular putters like Prodigy putters, Trilogy putters, and Aviar-type putters are just a little too bulky in my hand for the grip I like to use for driving off the teepad, so the Colt instantly became a favorite of mine. I will probably not put a Star Colt in my bag unless I really need something that is just ever so slightly different than an XT Colt. I keep an XT Colt in my bag at all times, and it can get everything done that the Star Colt can. Here are the differences that may sway you towards one plastic or another. The Star Colt offers a different grip. Is the XT too sticky/grippy for you? Do you like more domey discs? Choose the Star Colt. The dome gives the Star version a little more glide as well, so if you are looking for something to stay in the air and hold a line a little easier, then pick the Star Colt. If you want something that is a little less understable and can hold a little more power than the XT or DX Colt, then pick the Star Colt.

This evaluation is for the Star Colt, and supplements my earlier Colt review (see below).  The Star Colt is absolutely AWESOME!  The production DX Colts were a bit understable relative to the proto-DX Colts, and of course the baseline plastic tends to wear down with the heavy use I was giving my Colts.

The Star Colt's Star plastic is good, firm Star plastic, grippy but not too gummy.  The grip is shallow, which I really like.  It is very easy to throw, and it flies straight and true like the proto-DX Colts.  If thrown at about half power on upshots/approaches, it might have a bit of fade at the very end, but it flies very, very straight out of the hand.  It fights out of hyzers and anhyzers, desiring to flatten out and fly straight.  I have hit the metal of the basket from 100+ feet out time and again (and a few of them settle into the basket, saving strokes).

On very full power throws, I've had the Star Colt turn a bit to the right, but it does not "turn and burn" (unless one deliberaly throws it vertically out of the hand!), instead continuing its smooth stright flight.

Putting inside the circle with the Star Colt is adequate, though I personally prefer other putters (or DX Colts) for that duty.  All in all, the Colt has changed my game and the Star Colt is in my Core (and permanent) bag.  I strongly recommend this disc, especially for newer and/or noodle-armed (like me) players.
