I have been collecting Colts as I can for a while now. Although they are primarily designed for throwing, I found that they work really well for putting as well. I really like the shallow feel of the disc, and it allows for really clean releases I wasn't getting with my deeper putters. They putt pretty overstable, but as a throwing disc, they go really straight. My first ace was with a Star Colt, and since that day, I don't think I've ever played a round without a Colt in the bag in some way. They do glide a lot, so they don't do as great in the wind as a lower-glide disc might, but for me, they are totally worth stocking up on.

A fun, straight-shot disc that is very beginner friendly. It has a shallow, small rim the fits well in smaller hands. Great for upshots than need a long-held soft hyzer or anhyzer OR for dead straight shots. This disc will turn over too much for me on both forehand and backhand but is excellent at slower speeds or for beginner. You can also putt with this but I don't personally like the feel due to significant dome near the thumb placement and the DX plastic is pretty firm.

The colt is my primary putter from anything inside circle 2 (66 ft). I have two colts (I use one for putting and one for approach shots). This disc is true to it's numbers, but it will definitely be exaggerated on that -1 turn if you beat in the disc a little. I don't recommend throwing this disc any more than 150-200 feet unless you are a seasoned player. Most of the time, the disc will turn over unless you put a lot of hyzer on your release.

With all that being said, this disc is very comfortable in my hand even in the DX plastic. My colts are between 170-175g which I think is the perfect weight. They are quite stiff which I think allows for a straighter flight in my opinion. This disc is also great to hold anhyzer angles for long putts, so I definitely recommend the Colt to someone who is struggling to get more distance out of your putting stance.
