The Judge is a very simple, straightforward, predictable, and relatively inexpensive putter and my current go-to putter for practicing my aim. I don't think a beginner will regret having a Judge, but I do think that if you are having an issue with your putts going too far to the right, having a putter with some turn on it might be a better option for you. Regardless, I highly recommend looking at a judge, regardless of the plastic!

My first putter, and the putter I still use today. I appreciate the bead, I feel like it gives me a little more control when I putt. I'd say it is very true to the flight numbers.
For throwing, I feel like you do have to have a bit more finesse. It is not super torque resistant in the base plastic, but does well to fight out of an anhyzer on turnover lines.

On a personal note, I do wish the putter were a bit shallower. I have smaller hands so it would be nice if it were even 1 or 2 mm shallower, but that's a personal preference. I still feel like I get good glide on putts and throws.
Overall, one of the best putters around!

I personally carry two of the prime judge. The first from a beginner set, and the second that was given to me that was well loved before making it to me. From both well used and brand new, they fly the exact same. After being warped and chewed flying like a brand new disc feels amazing, knowing you can keep it for potential years that it'll be the same forever. The prime plastic may be slick if your handds tend to be dry during rounds, but I've found that it lends to a nice clean release for both throwing and putting. The bead that comes with the judge never felt uncomfortable to me, but it is definitely there. Compared to the Emac Judge, even with the bead, the standard judge feels slimmer. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

love this disc! It has been my primary putter for almost my entire disc golf career and it's pretty much the only disc I can putt well with.

The glide on this disc is great and suits beginners well as not that much power is needed. The Judge also has a dependable slightly stable finish that can be relied on. One slight downside is that the high glide makes the Judge vulnerable to the wind but this can be minimized by using a flat nose angle.

My favorite plastic is prime because it is firm and cheap but I also love the classic soft plastic for death putts. Misprints are cheap and it is affordable to buy multiple Judges for practice putting!

I love the Judge and I would recommend that everybody give it a try.

This was basically the only disc I threw backhand when I started, and it is still my go-to putter for putting and throws. It does seem to have a little bit of turn, but even after a ton of use it goes pretty straight.

The only thing I don't like is how it feels for forehands, but it is not too bad for a putter.

I absolutely love my Judges. I have five of them; four are 173 gram and one is 176 gram for wind-putting. They are pretty straight flyers, but can also be used for hyzer putts. Bead feels great in hand, and the release is quite smooth. I spent a long time looking for the right putter for me, and the Judge is the one I finally settled on. I couldn't be happier!

The Judge is a moderately stable throwing putter with glide. With many putters you have to choose between having a putter that is stable enough to throw/putt with in the wind or one that has enough glide to comfortably putt with from the edge of the circle. The judges unique combination of stability and glide allow me to bag a dependable upshot and putting putter that can handle moderate wind but also stay aloft when putting outside of circle 1. The prime plastic is slightly chalky in texture and is easy to hold on even in wet and cold conditions. Compared to base plastics from other companies, prime does not seem to dent/chip quite as easily and retains texture and feel even after prolonged use.

This was my second putter ever to get about four years ago. It is a disc that has never left my bag. Not only that, but I keep getting more of the same and different plastics. I started with the prime burst plastic, and I still use three of them. This plastic does get dented on the rim and warps over time. I do not mind this as it doesn't change the properties of the flight too much. This was also the first disc I aced with and the disc I have been closest to acing the most. I hope to keep using the dynamic discs judge for the rest of my life; it is that good.

I threw and putt with judges for over a year and always enjoyed them but they never quite did it for me. Looking back, my issue with them is probably that I just couldn't make putts, but that's only because I was a bad putter. That said, the judge is one of the best beaded putters you can get, right up there with KC aviars and wizards. The feel of the bead is great. I would go back to putting with them again if I didn't find the envy.

They do have one big problem for me that keeps them out of that five star range. When I threw judges I threw a prime judge and boy was I not a fan of that plastic. I know that it's usually better to throw a putter in a more premium plastic, but I've always liked throwing baseline putters and miss. The prime plastic, however, get so beat up and warped so fast that it makes it a very uncomfortable disc to hold after only a couple of rounds. I haven't thrown enough Dynamic to know if that's a common problem with all their plastics or all their baseline plastics but I'm really not a fan of waffling which was unfortunately a big problem with my judges and one of the main reason I stopped bagging them.

Overall, I'd say the judge is a great beaded putter, but if you plan on throwing it steer clear of baseline.

The dynamic discs judge was my very first putter and it will be my very last putter. I got it in a beginner set and I haven't looked back. I've gotten other putters but none have beat the straight flying judge. It's my main putting putter and it always will be. It's pretty floaty and handles hyzer and anhyzer angles well. Definitely recommend this for any new or experienced players.

This is a lovely disc that I love putting with. This is my main putter and I take it wherever I go. I love the colors on this disc. It is an alright throwing putter for beginners but I only use it for putting. Beginners would like this disc as it has suprising a lot of glide which makes this disc go for. I love this disc!

For reference on my reviews, I can pretty consistently throw 500' backhand and 350' sidearm.

    Plastic: classic soft, max weight

    Flight ratings, 3 3 0 1

I disagree on the ratings only because I defer to Innova ratings because they invented them, and the judge is faster than an Aviar. In my opinion it is very close to an Envy in feel and flight.

The plastic feels great, and throws great, but can waffle a little.

Two of my aces are with judges, including my first ever, and I don't have them in my bag that often (I tend to rotate all my discs because I'm indecisive). Awesome disc though. Up there with the best ever made. Even with full power backhand this disc flies the same at every speed, which is an awesome quality few discs can boast.

My dad has putted with his same judge for years, so that shows pretty good durability for a mid/base plastic too.

Guys, look! A review from me for a disc not from Viking!

I digress. The Dynamic Judge is a fabulous putter. I'm not sponsored by Viking so I have no reason to exclusively use their discs, but I'm trying to get ready for a tournament and challenge myself using only that brand. Plus I love the consistency of having just one manufacturer, whether it be Dynamic/Innova or whatever. If I ever had a diverse bag, this would be my putter, and I honestly believe this is Dynamic's best work. I have thrown quite a few of their discs, and a few of Westside/Latitude 64's lineup as well.

The Judge continues to be my favorite mold of the three manufacturers. If you could somehow start with distance drivers and work your way DOWN the speeds (Don't do that, BTW), by the time you got to putters and if someone were to hand you a Judge, it would fit your hand like a glove. The way it feels in your hand just makes sense. I believe one of the keys to putting is being comfortable.

Obviously, this isn't always an option, but we go out of our way to make ourselves as calm and collected for putts as possible. With the Judge, this is a non issue, unless you absolutely fell in love with another putter. Also, the Judge is fantastic to throw, which is a little gem hidden in the disc. It's kind of like going to an amusement park and realizing there is a water park attached to it.

That one-over stable rating really keeps the flight honest. Obviously, no one really bombs a putter the way they drive other discs. Throwing a putter on the fairway not as a beginner takes a bit of patience, and a lot of technique to get the best out of the mold. With the Judge, you get a laser straight flight and with a speed of 2, you will be surprised at how the disc is resistant to turning over. Unless, of course, you really force an anhyzer angle. From beginner's to experts, I can't bring myself to imagine any real flaws.

    PROS: There are no cons.

I have had 2 Judges. My first putter I ever had was a Judge in Prime Burst. I currently have one in Classic Blend Burst, and it has become my favorite plastic for Putters that Dynamic Discs offers. The Judge is one of the most beginner friendly putters in the game. It is great for both off the tee and putting. Off the tee, it is great for drives that need good glide and to fly dead straight. They can turn over if you put a lot of power behind them as well. It is a disc that is very easy to putt with anywhere inside of Circle 2. It is beaded if that is what someone likes, however there is also an EMac version that has a microbead if the regular sized bead is bothersome. Due to the versatility in design, consistent flight, and overall feel, it is easy to see why the Judge continues to be one of the best selling putters in disc golf.

    176g Prime Burst Judge

Putting: The Prime Judge has been my go-to putting disc for a few years now. I prefer the feel of a beaded putter, so the Judge feels great in my hand. The Prime plastic has great grip in all weather conditions, and the Judge has enough stability to handle wind. That extra stability doesn't really start to show itself until you get to C2.

Throwing: I typically don't like throwing beaded discs, but for some reason the Judge just feels great on both backhand and forehand. In the Prime plastic, the Judge is a neutral thrower. It exhibits a slight bit of turn and fade during the flight, but I really enjoy it for technical shots.

The Judge is a fairly shallow, flat, beaded putter.

The Judge is a very straight and stable flier.  If works well as a stable putting putter, as well as a solid straight throwing putter.  The bead is not very big, and it fits nicely in the hand.

I have a 176g Prime Burst Judge as well as a 176g Classic Judge.  I putt with the classic judge, as I like a slightly firmer putter.  The prime burst is a little softer and is my straight upshot disc.

The Judge is one of the best putters out there period.

If you are into beaded putters, this one will seamlessly fit into your bag. If I didn't already have putters from other manufactures up to my eyeballs, I would have a stack of these. One showed up for Christmas and made me a fan. It's just plain predictable. It doesn't do anything outstanding except for it's ability to do exactly what you make it do. Smooth and straight, right into the chains.

Just starting out this is my go to putter. Its just reliable. Easy to throw and great for a beginner. Prime Burst feels good in the hand. Got this in a beginner set and I use it more than my other putter I had gotten as a beginner set. If you are just starting out, the Dynamic Disc starter set is a great place to start for the price.

When trying out a handful of different putters, I had to include the Judge. In my experience - and I may be alone - this disc can roll amazingly far away from the basket on an approach or missed putt. I watched it turn up on end and roll 25 feet away from a basket on level ground! I watched it hit the pole and then turn up and roll 40 feet downhill into a pond (OB). Maybe they are just that well balanced? Putting wise, I can't complain - I was making more putts with it. But I watched it roll away so many times on approaches or missed putts - I just couldn't keep using it. I even tried a soft Judge, with very similar results. Your mileage may vary... I know a bunch of guys who love them. I keep mine out in the back yard now to practice with.

    175g Prime Burst

I'm a new player and this is the first putter I purchased. This is always my go to putter. I would say it is very beginner friendly in the classic burst plastic. It feels nice and comfortable in hand and can be used as a really good approach shot as well. If you're a person who likes to throw putters off the tee box I would recommend this for straight shots because it goes straight for basically the whole flight.

My good-to putter for the past several years.  In addition to puts, it gets used for approach shots and off the tee for holes less than 300 ft.  Keeps a straight line, and easy to carve an anhyzer or slight hyzer if needed.

My only frustration with the Prime Burst plastic is how easily it gets chewed up from hitting things (even the basket).  But the grip is just right in my opinion.

The judge is my go to putter of choice - as a newer player i received the feedback of starting with only throwing putters to get my form started and some confidence. The judge is great to throw and still my go to when i need a consistent 150-170 yards, especially learning how to play wooded courses, even though i'm beginning to play with mid-ranges and am getting consistently over 200+. I have 10 judges so i can practice putting with the same putter - both the classic burst and the prime burst feel great in the hand and are really forgiving when throwing as well as putting. I have a nicer limited run plastic for my putting putter. I've also used them a ton and even though they aren't premium plastic they still hold up and fly well.

The Judge is a low-profile, beaded, neutral flying putter. I really liked the flight of the judge off the tee for short drives and for upshots that need some touch. You can put it on just about any line, and even get some sneaky distance off the glide. But I just couldn't dial it in inside the circle. Inside the circle it had great glide with a super straight flight, and with little effort. A real point and shoot disc good for push- or spin-putting. Not great in a head wind though, and unfortunately it was a hand feel thing that bothered me the most. It was just too flat and low-profile, I couldn't get a confident grip when putting.

I picked up the judge in prime burst and moonshine. Both had nice flights and the moonshine had a touch of added stability. I really loved the stiffness and tacky feel of the prime burst and it didn't really get any bad nicks even after hitting the cage. The moonshine was not as durable as I had hoped, and even seemed to take more nicks than the prime, also a bit gummy for my liking.

Overall the judge was a really fun disc to throw and can cover pretty much all of your short range needs (except overstable utility putter if you like to have one), but it won't be in my bag. I could see someone who likes flatter putters really liking this disc.

This is a beaded warden, which is what I use to putt with. I just recently switched from a beadless to a beaded putter as I feel I have more consistent grip and more confidence with the beaded putter. This is a great putter to putt with, has glide to get you there when its a longer putt and pretty straight. Has maybe a tad more stability than my warden and would want to fade left faster if I didn't really get enough on it when I putt.

Now for upshots and short laser straight drives I have a moonshine judge that I use. It is very straight when I throw it powered down and not try to crush it (it is a putter after all). You can really see the glide when you use it for this. I have had several great upshots with this that have landed gently with a forward finish that has left me close for my putt.

If you are wanting to try out a good putter from DD and like a beaded putter this would be at the top of the list I would recommend.

They say find a putter you like and settle on it. Well, I settled on the Judge. You can't go wrong with the nice grippy Prime plastic, The Bursts are cool too. The great thing about them, being basic plastic, is that you can use fresh ones for rounds and keep a stack of older ones at home for putting practice.

I was a huge fan of the wizard and I loved the way the wizard felt in my hand but I was not a fan of the pronounced fade of the Wizard so I went looking for something straighter and more neutral in flight. As soon as I held a judge and saw the flight numbers I knew this was going to be my next putter. Prime plastic feels fantastic with just the right amount of grip while still maintaining the stiffness that I like in a putter. it grabs the chains well and flies very straight as an approach disc too. I cannot say enough good things about this disc.

Easy disc to putt with if you want a slight hyzer on it. Not terrible for putts in the circle but i'd rather use it as an approach shot. Don't love it but don't hate it at the same time. It's in my bag as a 50-100 ft approach disc
